The Four Lord's Adorable Wife Arrives

Qing Yan needs to calm down. Transmigrating is one thing, but becoming an infant? Is this a joke? When she was three years old, she met a jade-carved little boy. Qing Yan's eyes immediately lit...

Chapter 404 Shop Smashed

For several days in a row, the grain depot brought news that the daily quota was not even enough to last until noon, and people from nearby counties flocked to the depot to buy up the grain.

After breakfast that day, the shopkeeper came straight over, looking very unwell with red and swollen eyes.

"Master, something's happened!" the shopkeeper said immediately.

Qingyan was stunned. The shopkeeper hadn't been in such a hurry in a long time. What was wrong?

"Drink some water first, calm yourself down!" Qingyan had someone prepare warm water for him so he could rest before continuing.

"Yesterday, as soon as the shop opened, people from nearby counties rushed over and started hoarding grain. Some who couldn't buy any even got into fights and broke the shop's doors," the shopkeeper lamented. "Master, thankfully I listened to you and managed to transport all the disaster relief grain to the naval port."

"Was the loss significant?" Yin walked in from outside and, upon hearing the shopkeeper's lament, asked directly.

"The two grain stores were basically looted because they didn't have much grain in reserve. The other grain stores were different; they were almost all emptied." The shopkeeper said helplessly, "They were all stolen at midnight last night. Luckily, there were no employees in the shop, otherwise, they would have been beaten up too."

Yin frowned upon hearing this: "How many grain stores are there in the commercial street?"

The shopkeeper pondered for a moment and said, "There are ten in total!"

"Have the government officials dispatched any personnel?" Yin asked.

"Yes, the government officials arrived this morning to check on everyone's losses. When I came, I heard that several shops had basically lost their stored grain!" The shopkeeper's words deeply stung Yin.

The waves aren't very big on this side of the beach yet, but they're probably quite high in other areas, so people are all coming here to buy things.

"How did you get the news?" News travels very slowly in small fishing villages, how could you have heard rumors?

"Master, I sent people to investigate. It's said that someone deliberately went to several villages and said that all the grain stores here are well-stocked, because the military port is located here and the store owners all need to stock up!" The store owner frowned. "I think someone did this on purpose. Before, several store owners wanted to come to the grain store to purchase goods, but I refused them all. The information I gathered specifically mentioned that our stores have grain in stock, and even stated that the grain store has a connection with Fourth Master!"

Yin laughed coldly. These shopkeepers were insatiable; they actually tried to frame them, but ended up getting themselves into trouble as well.

"Su Peisheng!" Yin called out directly to the outside.

Su Peisheng walked in and tossed a piece of paper to Yin, which listed the names of various grain estates and the names of their managers.

"Investigate all these people and find out who went outside to talk about it!" Yin gave the order.

Su Peisheng quickly accepted the order and left. The shopkeeper was relieved. As long as the Fourth Master could intervene, the shop would not suffer any more losses. The grain store was doing quite well. The small shops that were affected by the disaster suffered even greater losses, and there were even casualties.

"You don't need to go back. Go home first. Once the matter is resolved, I will send someone to inform you!" Qingyan was relieved that the shopkeeper knew how to handle things.

"Thank you, Master!" The shopkeeper's heart was finally at ease; Qingyan had not punished him.

Before he arrived, a shopkeeper had been beaten by his employer.
