Qing Yan needs to calm down. Transmigrating is one thing, but becoming an infant? Is this a joke? When she was three years old, she met a jade-carved little boy. Qing Yan's eyes immediately lit...
The afternoon sunlight streamed through the window. Qingyan was hunched over her desk, copying Buddhist scriptures, preparing to pray for Yin and her father and brothers. Hanshan Temple in Suzhou was extremely efficacious. The day after tomorrow, Consort Tong planned to take Qingyan to Hanshan Temple.
"Little darling, stop writing!" When Yin returned, he saw Qingyan hunched over the desk copying Buddhist scriptures.
Previously, Qingyan would never write; whenever she did something wrong, Yin would punish her by making her copy Buddhist scriptures.
"Four, twenty more times. If I don't write them, how am I supposed to offer them to Buddha?" Qingyan shook her head, her mood changing.
Yin stepped forward and snatched the brush from her hand, forcing her to rest.
On the desk lay the scraps of paper that Qingyan had cut off. One or two words in the Buddhist scripture were poorly written, so she simply discarded them.
"Little darling, let's go to the night market." Yin noticed that Qingyan's mood was not right. He had been busy for several days and finally managed to get leave from Kangxi. He planned to take Qingyan out for the night!
Qingyan's eyes flashed; Sisi rarely took her out on his own initiative.
Each time, they would encounter some trouble, and even when Yin took her out, it was always for a purpose.
"Just playing around?" Qingyan's skeptical attitude saddened him.
"yes!"
Qingyan smiled slightly, then turned to change her clothes.
Whenever they arrived at a new place, Yin would take her shopping. On the one hand, Qingyan needed to change her focus, and on the other hand, Yin hoped that Qingyan could relieve the pressure in her heart.
"Sisi, let's go." Qingyan tugged at his sleeve and quickly led him out.
He had a lot of work to do, and often during his breaks, he would be called to Kangxi's side by half-blindness, leaving her alone in her empty room.
"Father Emperor, you've given me leave. You definitely won't ask me to go there!" Qingyan shook her head in disbelief. Would Kangxi be that kind?
He had a faint smile on his face, and his eyes were looking at her with great tenderness.
"Let's apply for overnight accommodation!" Yin had booked a room at the Yuelai Inn in Suzhou, and they could return tomorrow afternoon.
She gasped in surprise. Kangxi would agree to let Yin stay out overnight under such dire circumstances.
"Fourth Brother, there's no need for that. Things aren't peaceful outside yet. What if something bad happens?" Qingyan quickly shook her head. Absolutely not.
"No!" Yin had always wanted to spend Qixi Festival alone with Qingyan, and they happened to be on the road on the day of the festival.
Today, Yin is preparing to make up for the missed Qixi Festival.
"Let's walk out instead of taking a car!" Qingyan said coquettishly.
She doesn't like riding in carriages, so it's good for her to get more exercise.
Yin nodded, took the cap from Su Lan's hand, and carefully put it on her.
"Don't take it off!" After Qingyan arrived in Jiangnan, her outstanding appearance attracted a lot of attention from the opposite sex.
Qingyan smiled knowingly. Yin was becoming increasingly petty, even ruthlessly categorizing his father and his friends as people to be wary of.
"You still don't pay attention! Every time you go out, you don't want to wear a cap!" Yin glared at her, but looking at her obedient little face, he felt relieved.
As Qingyan walked down the street, she saw lanterns everywhere, which were different from the lanterns on the Grand Canal in Hangzhou.
"No more lanterns allowed." Yin saw Qingyan trying to turn around and go to the lantern shop next door. Looking at the lanterns on the table, he couldn't resist the urge to buy one.
"Alright!" Qingyan withdrew her restless little hand and followed Yin toward the Yuelai Inn. They stood in a private room on the third floor, where they could see the street scene of the night market.
Fifteen minutes later, Qingyan stood at the window on the third floor and took in the beautiful view of the entire street.
"Little darling, aren't you beautiful?" Yin wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder.
"Yes!" Qingyan nodded.
Although they spent very little time outside, she was quite satisfied.
With the Emperor's arrival, the security in Suzhou was much worse than before, and many assassins who wanted to kill Kangxi managed to get in.
Outside the palace, the Imperial Guards surrounded it in layers, and Yinzhi's secret guards followed closely. Now, the Yuelai Inn was probably filled by most of the secret guards.
"Fireworks will be set off at the night market in Suzhou around midnight!" Yin was unsure whether this was due to Kangxi's arrival or simply because that's how the market usually is!
"Fireworks?!" Qingyan was stunned.
Bang!
As soon as Yin finished speaking, a burst of fiery red fireworks shot into the sky.
In an instant, he pulled Qingyan into his arms and hid behind the wall.
"Si Si, why won't you let me watch the fireworks?" Qing Yan stared blankly at the man in front of him, his eyes coldly fixed on the outside.
"Little darling, those aren't fireworks, they're signal flares!" Yin whispered to Qingyan.
She was startled; it was a signal flare.
If they go out, will they no longer be watched?
"Who is it?!"
Yin shook his head. Were they court officials or his brothers?
The people from the sticky pole area gradually infiltrated the Yuelai Inn, surrounding the private rooms in layers.
On the street, the people were somewhat panicked by the signal flare, and some even rushed towards the street corner with their families.
"Little darling, let's just stay in the private room!" Yin put her in his arms.
Since arriving, Kangxi and he have never left the palace. Those people probably couldn't assassinate Kangxi. With Yin Yi's appearance, they thought that even if a prince were assassinated, it would still intimidate the court.
Fighting had begun outside the Yuelai Inn. She watched the window warily. The once bustling street had become quiet, with men in black fighting each other in a chaotic manner.
"Don't look!" Yin covered her eyes; the bloodshed and carnage outside was not something she should have to endure.
