The General's Honored Lady

Chen Siyuan was the legitimate daughter of a merchant family. After marrying a household slave, she poured all her efforts into helping him become a minister. In return, her husband and her paterna...

Chapter 5 Leeches

Chen Siyuan thought to herself, "This person doesn't look like a good person. Judging from his appearance and demeanor, he doesn't seem to come from a humble family. I'm facing difficulties right now. If I were to help, perhaps..."

Without thinking too much, Chen Siyuan decided she had to save the person.

"Wang Li, find a quiet place."

"Yes." Wang Li was worried about the young lady's safety. Hearing this, he was sure that the young lady was not in danger for the time being, so he instinctively agreed.

There weren't many quiet places nearby, so we drove the carriage to a courtyard not far from here.

The yard wasn't big, but it was an absolutely safe place.

Chen Siyuan got off the carriage and saw this place. Her eyes reddened. She knew this was her place. This was the place in her previous life, the home she and Song Ji had built.

hehe--

Returning to this familiar place, she had very mixed feelings.

After getting off the carriage, Chen Siyuan walked beside him, and Wang Li helped lead them into the house.

Chen Siyuan followed him inside. After confirming that Chunlan was alright, she asked Chunping and Wang Li to find what she needed and explained to the man.

"Young master, do you feel something jumping under your skin? It started on your head, and gradually it started from your neck. It will jump over every inch of your skin. When it jumps to your feet, even if there is an antidote, you will not survive."

"Who are you?" The man's voice deepened, tinged with wariness.

Chen Siyuan laughed, "It doesn't matter who it is. The most important thing right now is that you've been poisoned by the Ghost Pearl. If you don't get an antidote in time, no matter how much you know, you'll still die."

The man looked at Chen Siyuan, his expression changing slightly.

Normally, a woman in such a situation would either cry in fear or faint, but this woman was able to say so much.

Today he received the news and originally planned to cut off the other party's arm, but he was unexpectedly poisoned himself. He managed to escape, but was still poisoned by a strange poison.

He knew about the Ghost Pearl and that several high-ranking officials in the capital had died from its poison. He never expected that he would be poisoned by it in this godforsaken place.

Thinking of this, he suddenly felt hopeless, but seeing the woman's composure, he felt a little amused.

"Can you cure the poison?"

"We can give it a try." She had heard of the method but didn't know if it would work. She knew that a dying person had no other choice.

Suddenly, a sense of confidence appeared on his face.

"Fine, I'll be bold this time. My life is in your hands!" the man said, taking out a jade pendant from his pocket and handing it to Chen Siyuan. "This is the consultation fee. If I live, I will reward you handsomely."

Chen Siyuan carefully examined the jade pendant in her hand. It wasn't large, but it was clearly a valuable item.

"Young lady, no matter how good this thing is, it's still just an inanimate object," the man said, a slight smirk playing on one side of his lips.

Even though it's about his own life, he can still laugh.

Chen Siyuan quickly got busy, and Chunlan, seeing this, despite feeling unwell, came over to help.

She didn't know why the young lady wanted to save this person, but since it was the young lady's decision, she naturally followed suit.

Chen Siyuan didn't have time to think too much. She had heard of methods to detoxify, which seemed easy, but she had no practical experience. She could only get busy as quickly as possible.

Upon closer inspection of his condition, she was stunned.

This person has too many scars on his body, and they look like they could have been fatal.

I don't know what this man has been through, but it's a miracle he's still alive.

After finishing her work, Chen Siyuan sent Chunlan out. Her reason was simple: she was to stand guard at the door and not let anyone disturb her.

She came to the bedside again, looked at the man who was about to faint, and said, "I'm going to cut your clothes."

"casual."

A weak, feeble voice came from the man's mouth.

Chen Siyuan didn't give herself time to think too much; she needed to prepare before Chunping and Wang Li returned.

She picked up the man's dagger and cut open the sleeve on his arm, then cut open the robe on his leg, not even sparing his undergarments.

"Are you planning to repay me with your body?" came the man's weak voice.

Chen Siyuan snorted coldly, "We'll talk about it when you're still alive."

Two incense sticks' worth of time passed.

Chunping and Wang Li brought what they needed.

Chen Siyuan blocked the doorway, took the necessary items inside herself, and left them to guard the door.

Actually, Chen Siyuan had her own thoughts at this moment. The person inside was a dangerous individual, and she couldn't let those who truly cared about her take the risk. Staying outside to guard the place was a way of severing ties. If things really failed, she would bear the consequences alone.

Chunlan, Chunping, and Wang Li were very worried while they were away.

They were uneasy, not knowing what the young lady was up to.

Because the young lady had given instructions, they had no choice but to obediently stand guard outside.

Chen Siyuan came to the bedside, put the necessary items aside, and explained, "The method of detoxification is a little different. It will be very painful later, so please bear with it."

The man weakly curled one corner of his mouth into a cold smile, without saying a word.

Chen Siyuan knew that someone was running out of strength. The ghost bead had reached his chest, and he was in excruciating pain, but he still refused to make a sound. He was quite a man.

Thinking to myself, I stared intently at her left and right arms, then my gaze settled on her left arm.

After looking for a while, I saw the pulsating ghost bead.

Without thinking twice, she pressed down on his arm with one hand and gripped the dagger tightly with the other. Her eyes followed the bead-like thing that was jumping under his skin. Just as it was about to jump in front of her, she raised the dagger and stabbed it directly at the spot where it was about to jump.

With a soft "plop," the throbbing creature tried to jump back, but Chen Siyuan stopped it. She put down the dagger in her hand, quickly reached into the jar next to her, grabbed a leech, and placed it on the wound she had just cut.
