Chapter 36 The Crying Puppy is Discharged from the Hospital

Yun Nuan looked up at him, tilting her head slightly in confusion. Qin Yan smiled and carried her away along with the blanket.

The weight in her arms was so light it was almost negligible; she had become even lighter. The medicinal diet she drank did not make her complexion rosier, nor did it make her gain any weight.

He didn't know when she would reach the target; there were only two months left. He sighed heavily in his heart, but remained calm on the surface.

The door to the next room wasn't closed. He had come out suddenly, perhaps as if by telepathy. Qin Yan was feeling so suffocated that his heart clenched for a moment, so he returned to Yun Nuan's ward.

Then I saw someone secretly crying.

Qin Yan's room had the same layout as hers, but this person clearly hadn't put much effort into the decor.

There was a large, dark wooden table piled high with documents, and a cup of black coffee was always beside him. He didn't actually like coffee, but sometimes it helped him stay alert and focused.

The sofa and coffee table were clean and empty. Smoking was not allowed in the ward, so the ashtray was just for decoration.

While Qin Yan was debating whether to put her on the sofa or the bed, Yun Nuan was already fiddling with the buttons on his clothes.

He went out today, so he's wearing a suit now. Yun Nuan, who's engrossed in picking at something with her head down, has no idea what Qin Yan is struggling with. She, on the other hand, doesn't seem to care at all.

When Qin Yan put her on the sofa, her hands would tighten up. She wouldn't let go even on the bed, leaving Qin Yan helpless.

"So you want to work with me?"

Qin Yan looked at her, but she didn't make any move. Well, she was ignoring him again.

He had no choice but to work while holding her. She was sitting in his lap with her arms around his shoulders and her back to the desk. However, this position was not very convenient because she was covered by a blanket and couldn't afford to get cold.

Qin Yan helped her change positions; she leaned against his chest, and Qin Yan's chin rested on the top of her head.

He turned on the tablet next to him and found the TV series she usually watched.

"You watch TV quietly, and tell me when you get sleepy."

Yun Nuan was watching TV while he was processing documents. In the past, he would return any documents that did not meet his standards, but today he gave some feedback and sent them back again.

He was in a much more relaxed mood than a few days ago, and he would occasionally pat her head, but Yun Nuan's eyes were fixed on the TV and she didn't pay attention to his actions.

Once Qin Yan gets into work, he loses track of time. By the time he finishes, the person in his arms has already fallen asleep, clutching the blanket.

Her outstretched hand was still gripping the button. Her eyelashes were thick and long, her lips were pale, her face was pale, and her outstretched hand was also unbelievably pale, with prominent bones. The whole person looked malnourished.

He gently pulled the blanket around her, then held his breath and picked her up.

Like carrying a child, they gently carried her back to the ward next door.

"Good evening." He tentatively kissed the top of her head, his eyes filled with trepidation, like a thief. Then he tiptoed out of the room.

The windows were closed, the curtains were half-drawn, the moon was above the treetops, and the night sky was dotted with stars. It was a rare and sweet night's sleep.

The next morning, Aunt Lan was dressed exceptionally smartly, her face beaming with smiles. Even the bodyguards behind her greeted her with smiles when they brought things in.

Good morning, Miss Yun.

Yun Nuan, who had just woken up and was still in a daze, was confused by their attitude. Fortunately, Qin Yan appeared soon after.

He fetched hot water from the bathroom, rolled up his sleeves, wet a towel, and placed it over her face before explaining.

"Don't worry about them. They're happy that you're being discharged today. Think about what you need when you get back and ask them to get it for you: Lego, puzzles, different kinds of flowers and plants. Think about that too."

After wiping his face, he refrained from pinching her cheek and muttered something.

"Your face is so thin, you need to eat more when you get back. Aunt Lan has already made a diet plan for you, so don't let her down."

Aunt Lan walked in and heard this sentence, and quickly teased her.

"It's okay if we let him down. Mr. Qin is rich, and we, Nuannuan, can spend money however we want."

Yun Nuan blinked, and Qin Yan held the water to her lips again. "Open your mouth and rinse." She opened her mouth as instructed.

Qin Yan then fell in.

"Spit it out here."

He pointed to another basin, and Yun Nuan cooperated. Halfway through, Aunt Lan came over to tidy up her toiletries.

"Come on, have some breakfast and we can be discharged from the hospital."

The insulated box contained millet porridge that had been simmering for a long time, along with some side dishes. Qin Yan took out two bowls, one for herself and one for herself.

He and Yun Nuan ate breakfast together, and they ate the same things.

Seemingly aware of her doubts, he spoke nonchalantly.

"I'll eat with you, and when we get back you'll have to gain weight with me too. Stop looking and eat, or do you want me to feed you first?"

Seeing the teasing look in his eyes, she immediately suppressed her curiosity, picked up her spoon, and started eating.

Aunt Lan, who was putting clothes into a bag, saw the interaction between the two and her eyes were full of relief. The gloom in the ward had finally dissipated.

As the car drove into the villa area, the bodyguard sitting in the front seat couldn't help but speak.

"Finally back, the weather is nice."

Yun Nuan couldn't help but look out the window, following his words. The sky was blue, the water was clear, and willows swayed gently on the lake's surface. Someone was flying a kite not far away, and several black and white swans were playing on the lake, flapping their wings.

She couldn't help but laugh. Qin Yan leaned against her back and looked out the window as well.

"If you like, you can go boating later. Ah Cheng will take you."

Ah Cheng was the bodyguard driving the car. As soon as he heard her name, he immediately replied, "If Miss Yun wants to have fun, I'll go to the property management office to borrow a boat later. I guarantee you'll have a great time today."

"Oh, right, you can also fish. Just hold up an umbrella and Miss Yun can sit there and fish."

Yun Nuan looked away and shook her head. Acheng chuckled and remained silent, assuming she wasn't interested. Qin Yan's mind stirred, and he asked...

"Afraid of bothering others? The crying puppy is now concerned about more and more things."

He had barely finished speaking when he saw Yun Nuan glaring at him fiercely, her eyes filled with annoyance. Qin Yan pinched her cheek.

"What, you won't let me bark? Crying puppy, crying puppy, crying puppy."

She caught a glimpse of Acheng's curious gaze in the rearview mirror, which made her so angry that she punched him repeatedly before turning her back to him. Qin Yan didn't dare to provoke her too much, but he didn't expect that she would actually care about this.

The car stopped in front of the villa. Qin Yan hesitated to say the words he wanted to use to coax her, thinking that he should go back and coax her slowly, otherwise she would get shy again.
