Yu Tiezhu is also from Northeast China, and he was a forest ranger in his village before going to university.

Of the group, only Wu Shengnan and Yu Tiezhuang graduated from junior high school; the others graduated from high school.

This surprised the two of them, since in their area, graduating from junior high school was considered a high level of education, and it was rare for someone to graduate from high school.
