Today's work was the same as before. The dispute that escalated within the institute was resolved smoothly thanks to Su He's nitpicking and intimidation.

After finishing get off work and having dinner, she made an excuse not to go back with Tian Zhenzhen, but instead took Dahei out directly.

Big Black led the way, heading towards the suburbs.

After Su He followed it for more than an hour and realized they hadn't arrived yet, she finally couldn't help but ask.

"How much further is it? Why don't you tell me an address and we can take the bus?"

Otherwise, if we keep walking, it will probably get dark, and we'll have to go back tonight!

But Big Black was an illiterate cat, so how could it know the address? Only after confirming that they were almost there did she finally relent and continue following.

Fortunately, this time it was for real. Ten minutes later, the two arrived at a dilapidated mansion.

Su He looked at Da Hei with some confusion and asked, "Is this the secret base you were talking about?"

This place is so desolate, with half of the walls collapsed. It looks like an abandoned house that no one lives in.

Then she saw Big Black give her a look that suggested she'd never seen anything like it before, and then it took the lead and strode inside.

Su He didn't mind and quickly followed.

Big Black walked purposefully toward one of the rooms.

The room didn't even have a door. When Su He went inside, she found that the room was empty, with nothing inside. The only unusual thing was that there was a basement in the middle of the room.

It wasn't one of those basements that were hidden away completely; it was a basement that was openly and honestly open.

Then I saw Big Black go down the stairs to the basement.

Su He hesitated for a moment, then leaned closer to look inside. Although it was open, it felt quite dark inside. She wasn't someone who could see even in complete darkness, so she hesitated and didn't go in.

Seeing this, Dahei turned its head and meowed at her a few times, meaning it wanted her to follow.

But Su He shrugged and said, "I can't compare to you. It's too dark down there, I can't see anything!"

Upon hearing this, Dahei gave her a disdainful look, then walked out helplessly and led her to the next room.

This room has more things than the previous one, but they're all junk.

After Dahei came in, he pointed to something on a rickety table.

Su He then noticed that there were matches and half a candle on it.

He immediately asked in surprise, "How did you know these were here? No, how do you even know about them?"

Big Black didn't reply, probably because he couldn't be bothered with her.

Su He wasn't angry when she saw this. She picked up the candles and matches, and the two of them, along with the cat, returned to the room.

This time, with the candle lit, she felt safe enough to go inside.

When I came down, I found that the basement was small and messy, with things lying around in all directions, as if it had been ransacked.

Su He then realized that the exit above was open, and guessed the reason.

Places like this have probably been explored by now, so I wonder what Big Black meant by "fun".

After Big Black came in, he walked toward a pile of things in a corner.

Su He walked over and saw that it was a pile of leaves. She was puzzled. Who would put a pile of leaves in the basement?

Big Black burrowed into the leaves and pulled out a round, white bead, which it pushed to her and then meowed twice.

Su He's eyes widened in surprise. "My God! Is such a big pearl real or fake?"

He picked it up again and looked at it.
