What Luo Chong said does not seem difficult to understand, but it is not something that these primitive people can figure out in a short time. After waiting for a while, seeing that they did not respond, Luo Chong clapped his hands and attracted everyone's attention to himself again.
"It doesn't matter if you don't understand now. I will teach you slowly in the future. What you have to do now is to think about your future life, whether to become a government manager or do something else.
When you go back, gather all the people I just mentioned, the elders or witches of the tribe before, and the next generation of successors they trained, as well as those who have served as the captain of the gathering team, the captain of the hunting team, or other small captains, regardless of gender, all must be summoned to participate in the study.
Finally, it's you who are willing to come. If you don't want to come, just continue to do what you are doing now. Do you understand?" Luo Chong arranged for them.
"Yes, chief." Everyone answered in unison this time. Obviously, they also need to think about it carefully. After all, this is a major event in life. The country described by the chief is undoubtedly a very large existence.
In their own eyes, the Han tribe, which now has three cities and a population of more than 20,000, is already a powerful tribe without any enemies. However, what did they hear from the chief?
"People" Is this a hundred clans? The existence of the 'country' with countless cities and vast lands, what a great goal it is. If I can also participate in this great construction, it would be a proud thing. It is much more interesting than the tribe composed of dozens or hundreds of tribesmen before.
Of course, there are many who want to participate in other work, but no matter what kind of work it is, it is an indispensable link in the process of developing the tribe into a country. In other words, even if they are not in a management position, they can still participate in the construction of this great country.
After the meal, the chiefs who attended the meeting said goodbye one after another, and only Luo Chong and his two generals, civil and military, were left in the pavilion.
"Dashu, you write a letter to Hanyang City tomorrow and ask them to prepare a batch of toys and send them over, including leather balls, sandbags, and some of each. Keep them for the children here. Oh, and get some sugar paste, cut it into small pieces and put it in a jar.
Shuda, starting tomorrow, you have to select a few literate soldiers and set up a few more toy distribution points in and outside the city. Each distribution point must post nursery rhymes and blood relationship charts, and let the soldiers teach those children.
If you want to get a toy, you must first learn the nursery rhymes. Whoever can recite them and find the corresponding position on the relationship chart will be given the toy.
Those who have learned by themselves will be rewarded with sandbags and candies, and those who teach others will be rewarded with leather balls and candies. If there are not enough candies, you can exchange them for something else. Let's arrange it this way for the time being. In short, I want all the tribesmen to learn to recognize kinship as quickly as possible. Do you understand?" Luo Chong ordered.
"Yes, chief."
"Chief, this idea is really great. I estimate that if we follow this method, it won't take long for the tribesmen to learn it. Hehehe..."
Luo Chong smiled and said nothing. Even if his idea didn't work, he would have to pretend with tears in his eyes. Of course, he didn't think it would be ineffective.
On the second day, things were on track and the clan infighting was resolved. Luo Chong did not forget the reason for his visit, which was to expand the scale of papermaking. Regardless of the quality, he first increased the output so that all the houses would be replaced with oil paper windows before winter. This was the purpose of his visit.
He already had some ideas about the large-scale production of paper. Next, he just needed to test the feasibility and then make some adjustments. Fortunately, the environmental resources here were unique, with endless pulp for him to use quickly. He
did not need to soak the materials for half a year like the ancient papermaking method, which saved a lot of time for the Han tribe. The new papermaking workshop was built in the second city here. Because it did not need to accommodate many people, there was more open space here, and even the previous animal pens were moved here.
According to Luo Chong's idea, the new papermaking process did not change much, but only a set of production tools was replaced.
Regarding this inspiration, it was still based on the modern papermaking method, that is, how to produce continuous paper, and finally roll it into a long paper roll, and finally cut it to the specifications you want.
Luo Chong quickly drew the design of the production line on white paper, and then asked Dashu to call a group of craftsmen to start processing.
The first is a relatively large pulp pool, and then a wooden column is placed in the middle, which can also be regarded as a bearing. Some curved wooden sticks are inserted horizontally on it as a stirrer, which is similar to an enlarged version of a dough mixer. The use of this equipment is to pour the pulp and clean water into the pool, and then drive the stirrer to rotate through the transmission mechanism to break up the mixture in the pool into a uniform pulp suitable for papermaking.
This step alone can save a lot of time spent on pulp, but this is only the first step. The next step is the papermaking process. In order to increase the speed of papermaking, the original manual papermaking can only be changed to mechanical papermaking.
Luo Chong's solution is to install two small waterwheels with buckets on both sides of the agitator in the middle of the pulp pool. The waterwheel does not need to be too large, and a diameter of more than one meter is enough. Then, it is connected to the agitator through a wooden transmission gear. In this way, when the agitator is running, the waterwheel will also rotate, scooping out the pulp that has been mixed evenly, and then pouring it on the prepared bamboo curtain to become the paper you want.
After completing the papermaking step, it is the final drying link. There is also a way to solve this. Luo Chong directly asked people to build a 10-meter-long thin kang on one side of the pulp pool, and add two wooden rollers at this position between the kang and the papermaking.
Pass the bamboo curtain with pulp through the middle of the roller, first use the roller to squeeze up and down to squeeze out a lot of water, and then drag the bamboo curtain to the ten-meter-long kang and pass slowly, using the heat of the kang to quickly dry the paper. When the paper on the bamboo curtain reaches the end of the kang, the water in it has been dried.
Finally, a set of roller cradles is added at the end of the heated bed to flatten the dried paper for the second time, and then roll it on a prefabricated hollow shaft. In this way, as long as raw materials can be continuously added to the pulp pool, the assembly line can produce a large roll of paper.
However, this is only a theoretical design. It is obviously not easy to turn this production line into a physical entity, but with Luo Chong personally guiding the experiment, the progress should be faster.
