Chapter 81

Half of Chu Yu's brain was still in a mess because of the kiss that was about to fall. She barely kept the other half of her brain clear enough to hear what the broadcasting system said, and then thought about where she would be teleported to.

"Will you take me to the second dimension to drive a Gundam?" he asked Luo Jiayu.

Luo Jiayu turned to look at him, and the moment their eyes met, the surrounding scene began to distort and change. Chu Yu saw him mouthing something to himself in the vortex, but because everything was disappearing so quickly, he didn't hear clearly.

Until the next second, the watch hands finally ticked towards the hour, emitting a crisp reminder sound.

Before Chu Yu could take his eyes off his childhood friend's face, the familiar scenery suddenly unfolded in his peripheral vision, and then the sky full of lights filled his eyes.

Then came the hot steam, the aroma of food, the bustling crowd, and the laughter of several students passing by. Chu Yu turned around and saw the stall where they used to buy pancakes with its sign on, brightly appearing before his eyes.

There was a constant stream of voices coming from my ears, a noise and bustle completely different from that in the camp:

"Boss, give me some grilled cold noodles."

"Want to go eat skewers? There's a new place over there!"

"Welcome, freshly made glutinous rice cakes. Buy all five flavors together for a discount."

"Boss, why is there no response when I scan this code?"

Only then did he understand what Luo Jiayu had just said to him.

"I'll take you home."

Luo Jiayu took a fancy to a night market stall selling octopus balls, poked the arm of the person next to him, and opened his mouth to ask Chu Yu if he wanted to go there to eat.

Just before he asked the first word, Chu Yu grabbed his wrist, a familiar nervous expression on her face. She subconsciously burrowed into his arms, her body and head pressed against his shoulders, and then she froze completely. "There are so many people."

"It's a holiday today." Luo Jiayu raised the corner of his mouth and looked down at the frightened childhood friend in his arms. He first patted the other's back soothingly, and then went a step further and touched the other's head.

Passersby glanced at them several times, and some of them even wanted to take out their phones from their pockets to take pictures. Luo Jiayu put away his smile, turned his head away, and covered the profile of the unconscious person in his arms with his hand.

After a while, Chu Yu crawled out of his arms again, with her eyes downcast, not daring to look at him, but her face was still red: "Better."

"Hold me." This time it was Luo Jiayu's turn to grab his wrist and hold it tightly. His fingers slid down along the wrist bone and clasped the palm of his hand, then stopped moving. Luo Jiayu pointed forward with his other hand energetically, "Let's go, our destination is the stall selling cheese takoyaki!"

"Let's go." Chu Yu agreed out of habit. Just as he was about to take a step forward, the person in front of him suddenly turned around, walked up to him with a bright smile and asked, "How is it? Do you like this birthday present?"

He wanted to say that the gift was great, he liked it very much, but words were pale, the environment was noisy, and his voice couldn't shout too loudly, but his feelings were real and sincere.

So Chu Yu opened her arms in response to that smile, her eyes full of sincerity: "Would you like another hug?"

Luo Jiayu didn't expect the other party to respond like this. His smile froze in surprise. His heart was numb and weak because of these words. His head was so overwhelmed that he didn't know that this feeling was called falling.

"Can you kiss me?" he whispered.

The night market was too noisy for Chu Yu to hear clearly. He narrowed his eyes slightly and asked, "What?"

"Nothing!" After Luo Jiayu answered loudly, he was about to turn around, but as if there was something unfinished, he quickly took the hand of the person behind him and hugged him in his arms. After all, the birthday girl asked this, it would be a waste not to hug him.

After embracing her in his arms, he rubbed her neck again, then quickly let go and turned back: "Let's go eat octopus balls."

So the two of them went to the night market hand in hand.

Luo Jiayu and Chu Yu are basically on par when it comes to eating. Since elementary school, every month one of them has to ask the other for help because they spend all their pocket money. In the end, they both end up in a dilemma of spending all their pocket money.

Having just finished a day of training, neither of them had dinner. There were so many kinds of delicious food in the night market that it gradually evolved into Luo Jiayu exploring the way ahead and buying goods. On average, he would buy three boxes of snacks after passing two stores. After buying them, he would hang a bag on each of his and Chu Yu's arms, leaving one bag for the two of them to eat together. After they finished eating, three new bags came in.

In the end, they looked like an octopus. Luo Jiayu, who was born with the ability to spread wealth, wanted to hang a ninth bag, but he couldn't find a place to hang it. Finally, Chu Yu couldn't help it, raised his head and said, "Hang it on my mouth."

So the Chuyu octopus was successfully upgraded into a Christmas tree covered with bags.

"Wait a minute, I'll find a place to sit and eat, and then we can go shopping after we finish eating."

Chu Yu held the bag of puff pastry in his mouth and mumbled "OK".

Two minutes later, Luo Jiayu successfully ran to an empty table on the roadside and took a seat before a little boy.

The little boy stamped his feet angrily: "I saw it first!"

Luo Jiayu has never lost in bickering with children: "I got it first."

The little boy looked like he was about to cry: "You stole my date spot with Xinxin!"

Luo Jiayu's eyes widened like copper bells. Just as he was about to say something, he saw a little girl blushing and holding the little boy's hand. She shook her head and said, "Forget it, Lele. They also have a date. Let's not disturb them."

As soon as the little girl finished speaking, there was a heavy thud from the table in front of Luo Jiayu as several bags collided. He looked up and saw Chu Yu take the bag out of his mouth and wipe the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand: "If it was two seconds later, I would have drooled."

Luo Jiayu looked lost in thought. After a moment, he pointed at two children not far away and said, "Look, they all have girlfriends."

Chu Yu tilted his head: "Huh?"

Luo Jiayu said with a hint of meaning: "I came out today for a date."

Chu Yu: "I want to eat vermicelli stuffed with shrimp."

Luo Jiayu finally gave up on making all sorts of unnecessary insinuations towards his clueless childhood friend. Instead of feeling angry, he helped him find the bag of shrimp paste. "Eat it, eat it. Oh, and save the spicy and sour bowl for me."

The night market trip ended with both of them so full of food and drink that they could hardly walk. On the way, they passed by a stall selling all kinds of handmade accessories. Chu Yu naturally wanted to pass by the stall, but her hand was grabbed halfway.

Luo Jiayu's curiosity exploded, and he touched this and looked at that. Finally, he picked out a hair tie with a wooden bead pendant, and then wanted to tie it on the hair of the person next to him. Chu Yu turned around alertly: "What are you doing?"

"I'll braid your hair. Your hair is long."

"I don't." Chu Yu began to struggle.

"Just consider it your birthday present."

"I don't." Chu Yu has always been very perceptive in this regard. "Are you going to give me a princess hairstyle again?"

His childhood friend had a criminal record. Although it had been a long time ago, he could still vividly remember the experience of Luo Jiayu putting a wig on his head while he was sleeping, braiding his hair, and taking photos as a souvenir.

"Just think of it as a birthday present from your future self." Luo Jiayu readily changed his words.

Chu Yu glared at him, Luo Jiayu looked back at him, curled his lips and eyes, and then stroked the man's head as if stroking his fur.

"let go."

“It’s beautiful.”

"let go."

“It’s beautiful.”

"let go."

"Boss, how much is this hair tie? I want it."

"Nine dollars and ninety-nine each. Wow, your friend looks good with this."

The boss lady praised her so much, Chu Yu lowered her head and covered her face, pursing her lips awkwardly while the person behind her had already tied her braids.

Luo Jiayu had very deft hands. Chu Yu's hair wasn't too long to begin with, so when she gathered it behind her head it formed a small bun with the wooden bead pendant hanging down. She looked as plain and gentle as the owner of the hair tie.

"Look." Luo Jiayu stuffed the dressing mirror given by the proprietress into Chu Yu's hand. "I told you it looks good, right?"

After handing over the mirror, he leaned over the person's shoulder, saying that he was looking at the hairstyle, but in fact he was staring at his childhood friend's face through the mirror.

It wasn't until he noticed Chu Yu hadn't moved that he poked her shoulder. Chu Yu seemed to wake up and put away the mirror in her hand. She lowered her head and said hurriedly and softly, as if trying to hide something, "It looks good."

Chu Yu was telling the truth, but he didn't know why his gaze drifted to the face behind him as he stared at the hair tie in the mirror, and he couldn't take his eyes off it.

He stared at him in a daze. In fact, since he was a child, there has always been a lack of people praising Luo Jiayu for his handsome appearance, sharp features and three-dimensional contours. Without knowing the specific personality of the person, it is very easy to fall in love with him at first sight and let your imagination run wild. However, Chu Yu was face-blind and his appreciation of beauty was also vague. He only had a vague idea in his mind whether the people around him were good-looking or not, and he never went into details.

Rather than the specific face, what he felt more clearly was the feeling that face gave him.

Familiar, stable, warm and reassuring.

Even though his childhood friend's appearance should be aggressive, and people always tell him that his childhood friend looks so fierce and looks like he can kill a master with three punches, but when he sees Luo Jiayu's face, these are the first feelings that come to his mind.

Now we have to add another feeling, wanting to get closer.

By the time he realized what he was thinking, he was stunned again and stood there in shock. The wooden bead hair pendant on the back of his head swayed restlessly, making a dull sound when it collided with each other.

"Let's go." Luo Jiayu paid the bill and took his hand naturally, "Let's go home."
