Chapter 216 Chapter 216 [VIP]
The new semester started, and the process was still familiar to Megan. The first class of each course was mainly about handing out new books. Some teachers would give a speech, summarizing the previous semester, and then explain the content learned this semester, as well as the grading standards and the formula for calculating the total score. Other teachers would start teaching directly without leaving any buffer.
School has already started for several days, and the club meeting has been held. The reading group model is still retained, but within a week of school starting, each group member can apply to change groups. If they do not change groups, they need to fill out the application again. In short, each reading group has a separate form, so that there will be no confusion with previous information.
After school, Megan met Jason who was waiting for her on the way to the library, and they walked together. They found a seat near the window in the library with open space around them, and they talked in low voices.
Jason took out the reading group application form. He had already filled in his and Megan's information. He showed it to her just to confirm it. Megan took a look and her eyes stopped at the group name.
"Mason Team?" Megan tilted her head, and the young man sitting opposite her was calm and composed, with a frank look between his eyebrows, and even deliberately winked at her.
He propped his cheek on the table with one hand and said cheerfully, "You asked me to come up with a name before, and I've already chosen one. You can tell we're partners just by hearing it." It just happened to be composed of half of their two names. Nothing could be more appropriate. How about calling it the Bear Bird combination?
Jason suggested alternative names, and Megan shook her head, "This is the name, I won't change it."
Megan looked out the floor-to-ceiling window and didn't look for a book to read. Jason stayed by her side. The sunlight outside the window shone on her face, which seemed whiter than usual. But he knew his friend's condition. Seeing a little subtle fatigue in her eyes, he asked, "Xiaomei, what's wrong with you? Are you not feeling well?" As he said that, he stood up and put the back of his hand on her forehead, but he didn't feel any obvious heat.
His eyes were filled with gentle concern. Megan stretched out her hand and gestured, "I feel a little uncomfortable." Seeing Jason's obvious anxiety, she added, "It's my period."
Jason was stunned for a moment. He was still sitting there without moving, but he felt at a loss. Finally, he took away the thermos that Megan had placed on the table and rushed out quickly.
Megan hadn't even reacted yet when Jason came running back again, swiftly but lightly. She unscrewed the water cup and found it was filled with hot cocoa. She slowly took a few sips and spoke to Jason, who had moved a bench and sat next to her. "By the way, Jason, I'm going to go home early after school in a while."
Jason said "eh", and just when he was about to ask a question, he heard Megan say, "It's that happy thing." It was the thing he asked about in Jason's safe house before school started.
"My dad and I started a company called White Bear Manufacturing," she suddenly mentioned the big news. Jason's eyes widened slightly, and she smiled a mischievous smile, holding her head high, looking very proud. "This is my dream."
Jason looked into her eyes, which shone brightly in the light, and understood her eagerness to try and talk. He laughed along with her and gently asked, "What kind of company is that? What does Xiaomei want to do?"
Megan said: "I want to make some toys, but not for this..."
"The site my father and I chose was in the inner east district. It was originally a desolate and abandoned area by the river, with lots of weeds and trees, and even the road was potholed."
"But the land there was so cheap, the seller gave us a low price, and construction had already started before I started school. My dad told me that the large machinery we bought was coming in, and when it's almost finished, we'll be hiring workers, and we want local people from the East District."
Maybe most people would think that these were all adult matters and had little to do with a child when they heard her talk about it, but Jason heard her talk about her wish. As early as last semester, Megan's father had been preparing for her wish, and it was not officially implemented until the winter vacation.
Megan rested her elbows on the table, cupped her cheeks in her hands, and said slowly, "Registering a company and opening a factory is my dream. Dad is helping me accomplish it, but it's also my business. Dad said I should get involved and not let him do it alone. So I chose the East District and chose to do mechanical and electronic manufacturing."
Jason thought for a moment, "But your wish is more than that, right?" He turned his head to look at Megan. She was still as innocent as before. Even though her eyebrows and eyes had grown more mature as she grew older, it was still easy to see her ignorance and fearlessness of the world. So, could her wish be so simple?
"Yes," Megan nodded vigorously. She tilted her head and looked at Jason, her eyes filled with a brighter and more dazzling light. "I want to help people who are suffering, so I opened a factory and provided jobs. When I make a profit, I will provide preferential treatment and benefits to my employees."
"I want them to stop suffering, but I know I can only reduce their pain, even if it's just a little bit, that's what I want."
There is a lot of pain in this world. It is painful to be clearly aware of things but be powerless to do anything about them. It is painful to be oppressed and abused. It is painful to be physically injured and it is painful to be mentally injured.
Even if, as Dad said, the rules are false and meaningless, and everything is for the sake of domination and stability, hence the forced sacrifices, the pain and misfortune that people feel and encounter are real. The Joker cannot overturn the rules, and Batman and more vigilantes have not completely saved Gotham. Megan just wants to reduce the suffering of some people under the rules.
She has always been aware of some things, but she still wants to do something about it.
Jason listened to her intently, his thoughts drifting off into the distance…that was a great wish.
Unlike fighting crime, which he and Batman did, this was another way to save others. It reminded Jason of Megan's experience, the Wayne Group, the Special Children's Care Fund and the foster care center. Perhaps these things inspired her, but if a person has no gratitude in his heart, he will never have such an ideal.
Megan is not just daydreaming. She has taken that crucial step. The factory is being built and workers will be recruited in the future. Then products will be produced and sold. If everything goes well, profit is inevitable. When it becomes a cycle, Megan will be able to do more and more.
Jason grinned widely and said in amazement, "I didn't realize that Xiaomei had done so much without us even noticing! So amazing! Xiaomei is the best bear in the world."
Of course it’s great to have ideals and practice them!
He was sincerely happy for Megan. This was another growth for her, and how could it not be worth celebrating?
Jason thought about it and suddenly had a good idea. "Your father means that you will manage the company in the future, right?" Since her father followed her ideas and suggestions, it would be logical for her to manage the company in the future. He also didn't think Megan would sit idly by after the factory was built.
Megan nodded, wrinkling her nose and revealing a slightly distressed expression, "Dad said the company will be mine in the future, but how am I going to manage it?"
"That's not difficult at all," Jason said, having already thought of a solution. He leaned his head against hers and whispered, "You can tell me all your problems, and then I'll ask Bruce, or we can go find an economics teacher together? That way, the problem will be solved!"
When encountering problems, it is absolutely correct to find someone who can answer their questions.
Megan looked at Jason and saw his determined expression. She couldn't help but smile, "Okay then."
However, it will take time to build the factory. For Megan, the courses in the new semester are not difficult. Only the elective course she signed up for - Spanish - is a bit difficult.
Regarding this somewhat strange language to learn, Megan first turned to her father for help, but the clown said: "I thought such a simple question, you could just ask your child?"
Megan: ●^●Wow?
Her little friend? Megan thought of her older friends: Killer Croc, Bane, Poison Ivy, and Solomon. As for the little friend, she thought again and again and realized that the distinction between big and small was only for the Joker, so the 'little friend' he was referring to was Robin. He had to beat around the bush when he could have said it directly.
Megan looked at him a little strangely, "Why don't you just call him Robin?"
The clown laughed with an exaggerated, sinister expression, still feeling incredibly baffled! He rubbed his chin with a leather-gloved finger and said slowly, "You're on good terms with that impolite bird. What? You want me to deepen my understanding and acknowledge your friendship? And remind me that you two are on the same side?" His words were so strange and sour.
Nothing to do with romance
Megan: “Dad, are you going to teach me then?”
The corners of her father's mouth kept twitching upwards, but for a moment his expression turned sour, but he quickly adjusted himself and pretended nothing had happened, complaining, "I'm still doing what you should be doing! You don't want someone to watch over your factory? Do you think I don't have anything to do?"
"Don't be that self-centered kid who thinks no one else matters...a terrible kid."
He was saying weird things again, as if he was the coldest person in the world and his kids were the most unreasonable. Megan blocked out his words and concluded bluntly, "Oh, you don't want to help me with my homework." She was angry, the kind of anger that the clown could discern from her just by looking down at her head.
But she was just pretending. Who knew each other as father and daughter? She must have learned her acting skills from him!
"Ah," the clown sighed artificially. He walked over and touched the child's fluffy head. "I allow you to go play with him, go to your secret base, and let him tutor you?" She should be satisfied now!
His little bear was the most demanding. He raised his head and said to him angrily, "There are also my things over there, you are not allowed to destroy them!"
The clown spread out his hands and said, "My dear, you have declared your sovereignty, so I must listen to you." This child needs to be coaxed, and her domineering temper can only be accommodated, otherwise she will make a fuss if she is not satisfied.
The author has something to say:
Ugly Dad: Don’t fall in love too early (glances at Megan). Forget it, she is still young, let’s not talk about this topic for now.
