Chapter 17 Premonition

"This..." The jinx was a little embarrassed.

Qing'er had a premonition that Seventh Sister's affair had been discovered. Upon arriving at the Queen Mother's palace, she saw the Queen Mother sitting solemnly in the main seat. Below her were several key figures of the Heavenly Court, including Li Tianwang and the Barefoot Immortal.

"Tell me, what exactly happened with Zi'er descending to the mortal realm?" the Queen Mother asked in a deep voice.

The princesses' faces changed instantly. Oh no, how did their mother know? Hong'er could only step forward and kneel down, respectfully saying, "Mother, it was my fault for not watching over Seventh Sister properly. Please punish me."

The other sisters also knelt down, saying, "Please punish me, Mother." Actually, Qing'er didn't want to kneel, because she had a way to prevent her seventh sister from being punished, but since everyone else was kneeling, she would seem out of place if she didn't.

The Queen Mother waved her hand, "Get up, all of you."

"Yes," Li Tianwang accepted the order and turned to leave.

Qing'er quickly stopped her, saying, "Wait a minute."

Li Tianwang turned around and cupped his hands in greeting. "Fifth Princess, is there anything I can help you with?"

The others looked over as well. Qing'er glanced at everyone and said, "Mother, it's really not a big deal."

Before Qing'er could finish speaking, the Barefoot Immortal interrupted, "Fifth Princess, Seventh Princess, this is a violation of the Heavenly Laws. Isn't this serious enough?" He felt that Qing'er was stalling for time.

"Oh dear, Immortal, don't be in such a hurry. Let the Fifth Princess finish speaking first," the Old Man of the Moon said, trying to smooth things over.

Qing'er gave the Matchmaker an approving look. The Matchmaker stroked his beard smugly.

Qing'er continued, "Great Immortal, Seventh Sister's descent to the mortal realm did indeed violate the Heavenly Rules, but the Heavenly Rules can be changed."

The Queen Mother frowned slightly, deep in thought. Li Tianwang also stopped, awaiting her decision. The Barefoot Immortal remained unyielding, insisting, "Fifth Princess, the Heavenly Rules cannot be abolished. If we so easily change them, how will we gain the respect of the people in the future?"
