"The situation is turning grim," one said.
"Hasn't it always been like this?" came the reply.
...
Eagles soar through the sky, fish dart in the shallow waters,...
Don't misunderstand.
Before the monk could start cursing, Li Changzhou spoke again.
“My ‘Lord’ is not your ‘Lord’. I am a person who enjoys freedom of religious belief and has no preference or discrimination against any religion. It’s just that… choosing a name is difficult. Now you should understand my predicament?”
Li Changzhou was very calm.
He didn't need to establish the image of "Lord" in front of Aferona, Hed, and others.
What the Lord rewards them, He will also give; what the Lord punishes them, He will also punish them in the same way.
He can be their master without needing the identity or prestige of a "master".
"Are you the invincible one mentioned in the game notification?" The cardinal was a thin, middle-aged man with an ordinary appearance and a serious demeanor.
“It’s me.” Li Changzhou nodded. “So, I hope you can leave Sicily and Naples, which are my territory.”
"Unrivaled in the first stage." The cardinal stepped down from the main altar and stood beneath the enormous gates of Heaven.
Behind him stood a colossal statue of the Almighty Lord, who gazed upon Li Changzhou alongside him.
“You sinner who blasphemes the name of the Lord, you should not be here.”
The church bells rang, first gently, then gradually rising in pitch.
The gold leaf, paintings, and marble inside the church were all glowing faintly, like a huge treasure chest filled with jewels.
The paired columns, the mosaics and carvings, the flowers, birds, fish, insects and religious figures all come to life, blooming, swimming, singing and listening to the Lord's teachings.
The golden light shone even brighter, and accompanied by the tolling bells, the church looked like heaven, solemn and majestic.
“I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart,” the cardinal solemnly chanted, “and I will proclaim all your wondrous works.”
“When I consider the heavens, the work of your fingers, and the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, I say: What is man that you are mindful of him?”
"What are the world's people compared to you that you would concern yourself with them?"
“You made him a little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor.”
The glory and light that belonged to the Lord entered his body, enveloping him in a layer of white light.
In everyone's eyes, he was like a messenger of God standing at the bottom of a ladder to heaven, about to step into the human world.
Aferona, Hed, and the others felt a shiver run through their bodies, their faces turning pale. As Italians who were members of the Faith Church, they were trembling with fear.
If it weren't for Li Changzhou, they would have already knelt down and confessed their sins to the Lord.
Before this, although the cardinal was powerful, he did not have such a sacred feeling that inspired such worship; it was the protection of the church!
The monks joined in chanting:
"I will enter your dwelling place by the abundance of your loving-kindness; I will bow down to your holy temple with reverence for you."
There were only six people, but their voices were deafening, and with the church bells ringing, it sounded as if thousands of people were shouting.
Their bodies glowed with a white light slightly weaker than that of the cardinal.
“I’ll give you one last chance,” the cardinal said calmly. “Hand over your identity card, kneel before the Lord, kiss my right boot, and I may make you invincible.”
Li Changzhou looked at Yang Qinglan and Li Qianxia: "Are you still going to practice? Something's not right."
"Let's try it first, if it doesn't work out, we can always run away." Yang Qinglan didn't care at all.
Li Qianxia stretched out her hand, and a blood-red steel gun appeared in her palm.
She twirled her spear: "Xiaoqing, I'll lead the charge, you cover me."
As soon as she finished speaking, she lightly touched the ground with her toes and shot out like an arrow.
The hemline quickly spread across her slender, graceful body, transforming into crimson armor.
The church, a hundred meters long, was bathed in a hazy white light. She rushed inside like a line of blood.
The steel gun emitted a sharp whistle, its tip pointing directly at the cardinal standing on the lowest step of the ladder.
"Judgment!" A monk stepped forward, spreading his arms.
The church bells rang out with a deafening roar, and the murals, religious figures, flowers, birds, fish, and insects inside the church all looked at Li Qianxia and spoke in unison.
"Trial".
The wooden chairs in the lecture hall rose up, enveloped in white light, and combined to form a huge cross.
The cross, like a giant sword, was driven into the ground. White light formed chains, which in turn formed a large net that caught Li Qianxia as she charged forward, fixing her to the cross.
The crimson steel spear landed on the ground, like a small cross, diagonally embedded in the earth.
Fifteen streaks of gray mist, each wielding a scythe, swooped down on the monk like demons emerging from their lair.
Two monks stepped forward, holding the Bible, "The Cardinal": "He shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and whose leaf never withers; and whatever he does prospers."
The Gospel flew away and became a seed of light.
The seed turned into a sapling, which grew rapidly and in the blink of an eye became a lush fig tree. The giant tree emitted white light, blocking out all the gray fog.
"Interrogate!" The fourth monk stepped forward.
"Interrogation," the religious figures and the birds, fish, and insects began.
A fifth monk came out carrying a book.
"The mosquito, when he was nine years old, ate food bought with stolen money. The Lord said, 'He sinned!'"
"guilty."
The last monk spoke: "Fire at the stake!"
"Burning at the stake!" The voices of religious figures, flowers, birds, fish, and insects rose in volume.
The church bells, which had stopped sometime earlier, suddenly rang out with a "dong".
call!
Flames rose from the base of the cross, enveloping it like a demon's tongue, instantly engulfing the figures on the cross.
winter!
