"The situation is turning grim," one said.
"Hasn't it always been like this?" came the reply.
...
Eagles soar through the sky, fish dart in the shallow waters,...
"Thank God, thank you, Sister." The six monks worshipped the Almighty God and the Sister.
Their voices had a sense of order and solemnity—it was definitely like monks chanting sutras, they had practiced.
"You may leave now," the cardinal said coldly to Li Changzhou and his group.
“There’s one last thing.” Yang Qinglan put away “The Knight of the Bible” and tossed a jade bead to the nun.
“This is—” Half a second later, Raena’s calm and composed expression turned serious.
Power Pill.
“I’ll trade it for a herb that enhances perception. What you call a herb is probably an offering or a sacred object,” Yang Qinglan said.
“Perfect, no side effects… Little Jade Cauldron…” Raena read aloud the item’s description and notes.
She looked up: "Two."
Before Yang Qinglan could speak, she explained, "The offerings that enhance perception are in the greatest demand and are very rare."
It's a very simple principle: few players use attribute points to improve their perception, so the demand is high; and plants that improve perception are the hardest to catch, so they are rare.
In fact, the plants that enhance perception are the most numerous, far exceeding those that enhance strength, agility, and physical constitution.
The same applies to herbivores, especially those that are careful even when drinking water. In their genetic instincts, sensing an enemy and then fleeing is the normal process.
For example, the migration of millions of wildebeest is just one meal for a pride of lions.
In the minds of herbivores and plants, there is no reason to resist this option unless absolutely necessary.
For plants in particular, increasing their strength is simply not worthwhile.
They start from a low level. At the same level 3, animals (even herbivores) might have 10 points in Strength, while they only have 5.
Instead, improve your awareness and run away when you see people, just to ensure your own survival.
Upon hearing Raena's offer, Yang Qinglan, this young lady, had no experience in bargaining, let alone the thought of doing so.
Thinking that he had extra pills he didn't need, and that Li Changzhou and his sister were in dire need of Perception Pills, and that he could refine three more from one of his own, and considering that the nun seemed honest, and not wanting to waste time...
This series of "again" prompted her to immediately take out another Constitution Pill and toss it to Raena.
The reason I took out the Constitution Pill was to keep one Constitution Pill and one Strength Pill in case I needed one or the other in the future.
She thought she had thought of everything.
But in the eyes of Li Changzhou, who was experienced in haggling and could cut prices in half, it was simply... Miss Yang, a noblewoman from Mingcheng, had "It's a waste of time to suffer losses. Li's spendthrift wife, come and rip me off" written all over her forehead.
“Lucas, give them a sacrifice that enhances their senses,” the nun said to the cardinal.
"You intend to dispose of the offerings without authorization?" The cardinal's expression was somewhat mocking.
Raena casually tossed him two jade pills.
Half a second later, the cardinal's face darkened.
Two perfect potions (elixirs) with no side effects...
Within the church, no, within all the major powers, 99% of the various attribute-enhancing potions currently being produced are flawed.
Defective items can improve attributes, but they cannot increase the attribute from 9 to 10 points, or even from 8 to 9 points.
Moreover, any defective product would be marked in the remarks with something like, "This affects my background, so people don't want it anymore." These comments, though seemingly witty, actually make people look distressed.
Only one in a hundred bottles can achieve perfection.
For these two perfect jade pills, I would offer not just one sacrifice, but ten or even twenty!
Lucas glanced at the nun who remained unmoved, then kept his own expression unchanged, even uttering a harsh threat: "You'll have to bear the consequences yourself!"
He opened his hand, not from his backpack, but as if the gaze of the Almighty Lord had swept over it, and an exquisite golden box appeared in his palm.
He tossed the box to Yang Qinglan.
Yang Qinglan opened it, glanced at it, and after confirming its authenticity, put it away.
"It's a pleasure working with you," she said with a smile, in a good mood. She turned around, waved to Li Changzhou and Li Qianxia, and led her people away like a boss.
The bronze doors closed, leaving the church empty; the pews had been burned to ashes in the fire.
“You should all go and rest now. You’ve had a hard day,” Lucas said to the six monks.
"yes."
"You too, step back," Lucas said to Smoker, Waterman, and the others who had been watching the whole thing.
The man and his companion looked at the nun, and only after the nun nodded did they leave.
"Raena!" As soon as the person left, the cardinal immediately lowered his voice and asked, "Should we each take one of these two potions?"
The perfect potion in the church is definitely for the two of them, but there are many others who will have to wait a long time.
If you're unlucky, you'll end up only consuming flawed items that can boost your stats to the maximum but negatively impact your starting rank.
Having one more perfect potion would save countless hours and uncertainties!
During this critical period, even just one day, or half a day, could mean never catching up with teammates or enemies again.
“Weren’t you going to report today’s events to the court?” Raena turned to ask him.
"The female knight has subdued the Mafia. From today onwards, Sicily and Venice will listen to the Lord's gospel. The female knight is a bit mischievous, but she is deeply loved by the Lord. We two will follow the Lord's arrangement and give her time to reflect."
After a pause, the cardinal asked, "Isn't that right? She promised us that she would publicly claim to be a member of the Church!"
"But how many offerings were there?"
"No one knows the exact number of offerings except you and me."
"The Lord knows."
