"The situation is turning grim," one said.
"Hasn't it always been like this?" came the reply.
...
Eagles soar through the sky, fish dart in the shallow waters,...
They were surrounded, with countless dark shadows swirling around them, devoid of any life. These shadows before them resembled the carcasses of fish left to rot on the shore after the tide had receded.
Although there was no sound, all three had the illusion that the dark figures were crying.
"Damn it!" Iris cursed, her face pale. "How could my luck be so bad!"
"What exactly happened?" Li Qianxia asked.
“Hydrogen transformation,” Yin Seli spoke quickly, anxiously and desperately, “No one can explain what this is. It’s like the will of a planet that prevents anything from trying to take oil from the gas station!”
The shadowy figure seemed to be getting closer.
Yin Seli continued, "There's only one way to get rid of them: return all the hydrogen! Even the hydrogen that was originally on your own spacecraft!"
“If we give them to us, how will we get back?” Bi asked.
“There’s no going back! If there were a dozen or so aliens, we could fight our way out, provided that this is only the first stage of hydrogen transformation.” Yin Seli carefully piloted the spacecraft, trying to get closer to the atmosphere.
The moment she moved, the shadowy figure moved even faster, swooping down like a ghost right outside the transparent bulkhead!
Bang!
Yoon Seul-ri turned her head to look to her left. Although there was no dark figure there, it looked as if something had touched the aircraft.
She stared warily at her surroundings, afraid to breathe or blink.
“It’s over.” Dayi’s slightly desperate voice came through. “Once you fall into the hydrogen-generated ‘gas station,’ no one can save you.”
"That's not necessarily true." Li Qianxia was also a little alarmed and lowered her voice.
Li Changzhou disappeared from the bridge.
The aircraft sank, and Yin Seli trembled in fright. She looked up and saw Li Changzhou standing outside the aircraft.
She immediately concluded that it was a hallucination!
"Captain?!" came the exclamation from the communicator, and she began to doubt the authenticity of Li Changzhou in front of her.
Li Changzhou frowned slightly. He had thought that Li Qianxia's fear was because the scene in front of him resembled a ghost story, but that wasn't the case.
These shadowy figures create an unsettling, maddening pressure.
He didn't rush to use emotional control. As long as it doesn't really drive people crazy, pressure isn't necessarily all bad, just like the disaster that Konglu Star is about to face.
Ghostly figures surrounded the aircraft, seemingly sizing up Li Changzhou who had suddenly appeared.
Li Changzhou also observed these ghostly figures, hesitating whether to make a move to test them.
In the end, I decided against it.
This is a "gas station," surrounded by hydrogen. Once ignited, given his ability to control flames, he can't guarantee he can fight in such a large-scale fire—escaping, however, is not a problem.
Yoon Seul-ri's eyes briefly dimmed.
When the light appeared, she found herself back in the cabin where the main ship's aircraft were parked, still in the pilot's seat of aircraft number 2, just like the scene before departure.
"That was so close!" The oppressive feeling disappeared, and Li Qianxia was the first to catch her breath. "If it weren't for my brother, we would definitely be done for this time."
She might be able to fight her way out on her own, but even with her protection, Bi and Yin Se-ri would be on the verge of death the moment their spacesuits were torn.
While immortals can summon wind and rain and overturn mountains and seas on a planet, they are still full of dangers in the entire universe.
Only when one becomes an Earth Immortal and has their own 'territory' can they explore the universe relatively safely—there is no absolute rule, not even Celestial Immortals can do it, only the 'victor' can.
Li Changzhou led the three back to the bridge.
The gas giant that occupies the entire front window in the distance, apart from its enormous size, still looks harmless.
“I have already reported that the planet has undergone the first stage of ‘hydrogen transformation’,” D.Y. said.
"Phase one, and phase two?" Li Changzhou asked.
"The second phase is the awakening of the entire planet, but the second phase is actually safer because it is known from a distance that the planet has entered the second phase—at that time, the planet looks like it has eyes."
"A planet...with eyes?" Li Qianxia paused for a moment, then realized something.
Li Changzhou, Yang Qinglan, and Yaochi exchanged a glance.
“The ‘eyes’ is just a metaphor,” engineer Houhou explained. “No one can say for sure what they are. There are too many incredible things in the universe. Judging from the results of the probe, the second-stage hydrogen transformation is like a series of ordinary storms, which look like eyes from a distance.”
"What would happen if there were a second stage of hydrogen transformation in the eyes?" Li Qianxia asked cautiously.
“These ‘eyes’ will turn into storm monsters,” Incere poured a cup of hot water, letting the warmth seep into her body. “These storm monsters will leave the home planet at some point, rushing towards other planets and sweeping away all the hydrogen on them.”
"Is there hydrogen in the atmosphere?" Li Qianxia looked at Li Changzhou, her emotions gone, overwhelmed with shock.
“One in two million,” Li Changzhou replied.
"We won't let any amount slip by," the engineer said.
After a moment of silence, Yaochi asked, "When did your eyes turn into a storm monster?"
"It's unclear, there's no pattern to it, and even the Great Wall of Divine Will hasn't figured out how hydrogen transformation occurs," the engineer replied. "If all the engineers studied it together, they should be able to find something, but there are too many things to study. Hydrogen transformation is rare, difficult to study, and doesn't offer any benefits, so it's only a subject of study for a few people."
"Trouble just keeps piling up," Li Changzhou said.
First, the Lord of Glory awaited him in history; then the 'Victor' reigned supreme, securing victory; and now, with the hydrogen transformation, Jupiter could send monsters to attack Earth at any moment.
