"The situation is turning grim," one said.
"Hasn't it always been like this?" came the reply.
...
Eagles soar through the sky, fish dart in the shallow waters,...
In the dark and boundless vacuum of space, there was only a glimmer of light in the direction of the sun. Outside the atmosphere of Jupiter, where the storms alone could contain two Earths, Li Changzhou admired the aurora that stretched for thousands of meters.
"How much longer do I need to wash?"
Guanyin glanced at the heart and replied, "Soon."
A vertical crack appeared on Li Changzhou's chest, revealing his blood vessels and muscles clearly, but his heart was missing from the center.
“Jupiter is a fluid planet, which is quite fitting for the concept of ‘cleansing the heart’,” Li Changzhou said, looking at the distant heart and feeling its beating.
winter~winter~
The heart before me was the same in shape as before, but now it looked like a red-hot iron block or a flowing liquid flame.
The heart, one of the five internal organs, belongs to the element of fire in the Five Elements theory. It is perfectly suited to be refined by Jupiter, which has 82% hydrogen.
"We've now entered the final stage. We just need to wait for the heart's temperature and energy to stabilize before we can put it back. You can relax a little now," Guanyin said.
Li Changzhou let out a soft breath.
It wasn't tiring or troublesome. It was just that it was the first time I'd ever opened my heart, so I was inevitably a little nervous. I probably wouldn't be like that the second time.
"Continue to cultivate the 'Mountain Character Technique'?" Guanyin asked.
The Eight-Nine Mysterious Techniques consists of seventy-two forms, with a new supernatural power for every six forms, totaling twelve forms. Li Changzhou has already completed the first five forms and recently learned the first supernatural power, the "Mountain Character Technique"—the seventh form is the one that uses Jupiter to cleanse the heart, and it is about to be completed.
The "Mountain Formula" has three meanings: moving mountains, taking mountains, and opening mountains.
A mountain is not only a mountain of dust, rocks, and vegetation, but also a mountain of qi and blood in the human body.
Li Changzhou has already learned how to move mountains, but he's still a bit short of how to take mountains; he hasn't even started opening mountains yet.
Even with his talent, focus, and wisdom (one of them), he couldn't master it quickly, which shows that physical martial arts also require some mental effort.
Guanyin also repeatedly warned that those who cultivate the physical body need the courage to face death with unwavering resolve, not just the recklessness of someone who only knows how to throw punches.
The Analects, Book 1, Chapter 2: "I will not associate with those who would recklessly confront a tiger or ford a river, even unto death."
I will not be with someone who would fight a tiger bare-handed or cross a deep river barefoot, and who would never regret it even unto death.
“‘Mountain Mantra’ isn’t urgent. Let the Bodhisattva tell me about cultivation, and I’ll relax a bit,” Li Changzhou said.
What do you want to know?
Li Changzhou had many questions, such as where the Heavenly Court and the Western Paradise had gone, and whether they could be found now.
Is the Investiture of the Gods real? How beautiful was Nuwa? Did Yang Jian really split the mountain to save his mother? Was Journey to the West actually a Buddhist conspiracy?
But now is not the time to satisfy curiosity.
"I plan to use the Honey Pot World as 'Heng Sha' to create my own inner realm and advance to the level of Earth Immortal. What does the Bodhisattva think?"
With their younger sister and Yang Qinglan being targeted by the ancient god, improving their strength is the top priority.
"This method is excellent; it can make you a terrestrial immortal in a short time. I would suggest doing this if you were someone with low talent, but you are not capable of it."
"Why?" Li Changzhou asked, puzzled. "I only know that Earth Immortals who are made by refining 'Heng Sha' from real land and mountains seem to be inferior to ordinary people, but there is no difference between 'Heng Sha' refined with props—that is, magic treasures, especially powerful magic treasures—and 'Heng Sha' cultivated by oneself, right?"
As long as one is an Earth Immortal, and as long as their inner realm remains intact, they are almost immortal and live as long as the heavens (the heavens within the inner realm). Li Changzhou's so-called "inferior" status is in comparison to other Earth Immortals.
"Why is it that those who are made from the real land and mountains, and whose immortality is achieved through the refinement of countless grains of sand, are not as good as others?" Guanyin asked patiently and persuasively.
Li Changzhou thought for a moment: "To become a Celestial Immortal, one needs to merge with one's inner landscape. Even if the real land and mountains are refined into 'countless grains of sand,' they are still closely related to the outside world. For such a terrestrial immortal to become a Celestial Immortal would be extremely difficult."
Even if only a single grain of dust from reality is mixed in when refining 'Hengsha', one becomes a low-level Earth Immortal.
James Gladgley said in "Chaos Theory" that for want of a nail, for want of a horseshoe, for want of a nation, the nail is not a nation, but in the end it affects the survival of the nation. This is just a matter of probability.
However, even a speck of dust has a 100% impact on the inner vision of an Earth Immortal; adding more will result in a lower level!
Even a tiny speck of dust contains the infinite laws of the universe.
However, for the vast majority of second- and third-class immortals, without refining external substances, they cannot become earth immortals; such is their talent.
After a pause, Li Changzhou asked, "Does the Bodhisattva mean that the Honey Pot World is also connected to the outside world?"
"I currently lack magical power and Dao fruit, so I cannot discern whether the Honey Pot World is connected to the outside world. I suggest you refine 'Hengsha' from nothingness yourself to prevent such an accident."
“The inner realm you create yourself will definitely not be connected to the outside world, making it much easier to comprehend the laws and achieve the status of a Celestial Immortal.”
"Will comprehending simple laws affect celestial immortals? Similar to earth immortals who are created by refining 'eternal sands' from real land and mountains?" Li Changzhou asked again.
Guanyin smiled and said, "I thought I had thought far ahead enough, preparing to become a celestial immortal while I was already becoming an earth immortal. But you, on the other hand, are already thinking about the pros and cons of becoming a celestial immortal."
Li Changzhou laughed as well: "I was just standing on your shoulders. Without mentioning this matter, how could I have thought of those things?"
Guanyin nodded slightly, showing a hint of appreciation.
“Taking different paths does lead to different celestial beings, but celestial beings themselves are neither superior nor inferior, neither increase nor decrease, and live as long as the heavens (the universe). Their combat power depends on themselves, and becoming a saint has nothing to do with these things,” she said.
