The King of Black Fog

"The situation is turning grim," one said.

"Hasn't it always been like this?" came the reply.

Chapter 400 Farewell to Life and Death

"Cough! Cough!" Li Changzhou coughed twice.

"Honey, did you choke?" Della came over when she heard the coughing, and with a twist of her slender waist, her plump buttocks rubbed against Li Changzhou as she sat down.

"Della!" shouted a warrior at another table, "Call me husband, and I'll be as solid as a block of ice!"

Della raised an eyebrow, her face showing anger: "Ten dollars!"

"Two at most!" came another bidder.

Everyone burst into laughter; with the arrival of the beautiful tavern owner, the atmosphere became even more lively.

Della was happy to keep them company. When the soldiers were in a good mood, they had good appetites, and when they had good appetites, she didn't need to call her husband; she could make money by selling horse meat.

So she sat down next to Li Changzhou, laughing and joking with the soldiers. Every soldier she scolded would be kissed and laughed, feeling extremely proud.

Not to mention the young people like Andy and Yett, even the old man said a few words.

Since they couldn't leave, Li Changzhou arranged for everyone to sleep in one room. He put the danger aside and decided to enjoy himself while he could—on the way back, he might return to this tavern only to find himself dead.

"Hey little girl, spend the night with me, and I'll give you twenty blocks of ice," said the kid who had been kicking his head like a ball earlier.

"You? Have you grown all your pubic hair yet? Take it off and let me see. We'll talk about the price when it's grown!"

"Take it off! Take it off!" the others shouted.

The child sneered, jumped onto the table, and pulled down his pants.

"Hahaha!" Everyone burst into laughter.

"My goodness!" Andy exclaimed, slamming his fist on the table and laughing, tears streaming down his face. "I've never seen anything so tiny!"

Tali was also trying not to laugh.

Amidst the laughter, Della raised her voice and said, "I won't breastfeed!"

The next moment, she roared, "Don't pee in my shop!"

The laughter grew louder, and the room seemed to shake.

Even the child's teammates were laughing; they didn't seem to know each other before, but had come together along the way.

Only two people in the tavern were not in the mood: Li Changzhou and the lone traveler.

Li Changzhou sized up the lone traveler, who kept his head down, oblivious to the commotion, and focused intently on eating horse meat like a caterpillar gnawing on a leaf.

'Is it really Yang Qinglan?' he wondered to himself, not daring to go up and test her.

If not, then he must be a master—based on a player's experience, no one would believe that someone would be foolish enough to commit such a suicidal act as traveling alone and flaunting their wealth.

He knows nothing about the 'Great Power' yet. If he acts rashly, he might not even know how he died if the other party is not Yang Qinglan.

"Where am I small?!" the child retorted angrily.

A burly man with tattoos on his face stood up: "This place is too small!"

He teased the child with his hand, as if he were playing with an earthworm.

Amidst the laughter, the child's face turned red and hot.

"He's angry! He's angry!"

"What are you angry about? You're just shy!"

"Hahaha!"

The child glared at the big man, raised a tiny finger, pointed it sharply at him, and made a very shrill sound:

"Life—Death—Eternal—Farewell—"

A dazzling green light flashed, coloring everything.

From the outside, the tavern, which was originally bathed in orange-yellow firelight, suddenly turned into a haunted house with green light shooting out from the cave.

When the green light disappeared, the big man fell straight to the ground with a thud, his face ashen, like a sculpted statue.

Inside the fireplace, the bright yellow flames flickered tentatively, only illuminating the room again once they were sure it was safe to do so, and the tavern fell silent.

After a long silence, a trembling voice finally spoke:

"Great...great...power!"

"Are you still little? Are you still laughing?" The child pointed at everyone, and those pointed at fell down in fright, scrambling to hide under the table.

Amidst the panicked screams, the old man grabbed Andy and Tally, and before his finger could even point at them, he was about to plunge them under the table.

At this moment, Li Changzhou stood up and kicked out. With a loud bang, the table rolled and stood upright, turning into a dam to try and stop the terrifying green light.

The seven people hid behind the table. Tali was breathing heavily, her expression so tense that she was almost in a daze.

Once the sounds of tables and chairs being moved stopped, only the child remained standing on the table.

The sounds of tense breathing and anxious swallowing rose and fell, as if everyone were field mice hiding in their burrows, while the child was a hawk hunting from the treetop!

Everyone felt their insides twitch under his gaze!

None of these warriors and hunters, who were capable of fighting to the death with the dead, dared to resist at this moment.

That's terrifying.

Li Changzhou couldn't help but change color.

Killing a person with a single finger is nothing; if his magic power were still intact, he could destroy a city with a single finger.

Within that dazzling green light, there was a power, or rather a rule, that was both strange and familiar—to kill anyone who encountered it, and to slay anyone who saw it.

It may not seem very powerful or have a small attack range, but once a living being is hit by the green light, it will definitely die without exception!

After a long while, Della slowly spoke, "Alright, alright, it's getting late. Let's stop chatting here and go to sleep."

Through the gaps in the wooden table, Li Changzhou saw the child slowly lower his hand, and his violently heaving chest gradually calmed down.

The boy pulled up his pants and kicked the soldier who had come with him: "Let's go!"

"Yes, sir!" The soldiers almost crawled on their knees.

Judging from their expressions and postures, they had been pretending not to know each other before; they were actually the child's subordinates!

The sound of footsteps on the wooden stairs rose and fell, and then the sound of tables and chairs being moved could be heard in the lobby, very softly and slowly, as if afraid of disturbing a single hair on the ground.

The group peeked out from under the table, put down the stools they were using for protection, and moved the water jugs that were covering their faces.

"Damn it! I'm abandoning this expedition!"
