The King of Black Fog

"The situation is turning grim," one said.

"Hasn't it always been like this?" came the reply.

Chapter 407 Seeing the Future

Before anyone could ask further questions, the blind man continued, as if reading from a prepared script:

"After a hundred breaths, countless pebbles crashed into the cave, killing all four people standing at the cave entrance."

The child's four henchmen shuddered, their facial muscles twitching uncontrollably.

"The Black Flame Dragon used its wings to block the falling rocks. After the 101st breath, the second and third attacks of falling rocks were still blocked by the dragon's wings."

"On the one hundred and third breath, two ice corpses... no, two ice figures as tall as the Black Flame Dragon walked in—"

"What ice man?" the child asked loudly.

"Ice beings. Don't interrupt me." Jin Su surveyed the cave as if he had witnessed a battle firsthand. "Dragonfire destroyed the ice beings, smaller ice beings are attacking from the ground, Black Flame Dragon..."

The blind man paused, and the Black Flame Dragon frowned.

"...Thank goodness," the blind man breathed a sigh of relief, but his golden eyes remained indifferent. "Lady Ice Sword blocked Little Ice Man."

The next moment, his voice suddenly became strained: "The one hundred and twentieth breath... we are all dead."

"What?"

"How did he suddenly die? Did you see clearly?"

"Darkness." The blind man strained to see, and a glimmer of life appeared in his golden eyes amidst the coldness. "Darkness within darkness, black spears killed us all!"

"The corner!" He turned around abruptly. "There's still a living little ice man in the corner!"

Everyone hurriedly left the corner, ready for battle, but in the dazzling green light, there was no shadow in the corner. Only then did they realize that the blind man was talking about the future.

"Let's go!" Black Flame Dragon decided immediately.

He fell to the ground, transforming into a black flame dragon midway through his fall, and everyone quickly jumped into the basket.

With a swipe of its claws, the black flame dragon slammed its wings against the ground and charged toward the cave entrance.

The basket dragged along the ground, sinking slightly as it left the cave entrance. The Black Flame Dragon did not resist the weight, but simply flapped its wings slightly to keep the descent at a speed that would allow it to take off at any moment.

"Gura!" the Black Flame Dragon shouted.

The blind man with golden eyes looked around: "One hundred and two breaths later, a black box fell to the right. The black box was far away from us, and a black hand threw a boulder at us from behind the box... We were hit!"

The Black Flame Dragon flapped its wings and flew to the right.

He clung to the ice wall, closed his burning eyes, his dragon body merging into the darkness, his mouth silently tearing open, aiming upwards, looking just like a cannon barrel.

"No!" The blind man with golden eyes also looked upwards. "The dragon flames melted the boulders and the ice men, but they couldn't completely melt the black spear! We're going to be killed!"

With a push of its limbs, the Black Flame Dragon lifted itself off the ice wall and swooped down into the abyss.

"They're catching up!" The blind man with golden eyes stared intently behind him. "Aerial combat... No! They're keeping attacking from a distance; we're going to fall!"

He clung tightly to the basket, as if he were truly in the future, being struck down by a boulder.

"Where am I?!" the child shouted, sticking his fingers out of the blind man's collar. "Didn't I even lift a finger?"

"The other side...the other side hasn't shown up yet, they've been hiding in the shadows." The Golden-Eyed Blind Man's tone had lost its previous composure and was now filled with despair.

In that short span of time, he had witnessed his own death countless times.

"This won't work!" Lady Ice Sword said in a deep voice. "Black Flame Dragon, you've created a maze!"

Boom! With its wings slamming into the air, the Black Flame Dragon hovered, aimed at the ice wall, and spewed dragon fire.

call!

The billowing flames resembled a blue flood, instantly melting the hard ice walls. The black flame dragon charged in, spewing dragon fire as it constantly changed direction.

Sometimes, after the dragon's flames had already created a long tunnel, he would suddenly go through another one.

Sometimes it goes around in circles, and after the tunnel becomes an "8", it suddenly bursts out from one point of the "8" and disappears in the cycle.

Let alone anyone else, even the Black Flame Dragon itself couldn't remember such a complicated route.

But he doesn't need to remember.

What is virtually indestructible ice to other adventurers is no different from air to him; after a few tries, getting out is easy.

"Gula, what about now?" Ice Sword asked.

The blind man with golden eyes looked left and right: "They haven't caught up."

The child's four henchmen visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

The Black Flame Dragon slowly flapped its wings downwards and stopped. When it landed, it reverted to its half-dragon form.

He glanced down at his body, making sure that his dragonification hadn't deepened, before letting out a sigh of relief like the others.

The blind man closed his eyes again. He felt a little more difficulty closing his eyelids, as if a layer of fine snow had been sprinkled on the originally smooth ice surface.

Those golden eyes seemed to be vaguely displeased with the act of closing them.

"Who is it? How do they know our location?" Black Flame Dragon asked anxiously.

"The other party hasn't shown up yet." Not having to witness death calmed the blind man's panic somewhat.

The child snarled, "Another rat that dares not show its face in front of me!"

“Never mind that,” Blackflame Dragon said in a deep voice. “Finding ‘Never Close Your Eyes’ is what we should be doing next. Gura, keep an eye on our surroundings, and let me catch my breath before we continue.”

The blind man opened his eyes again, and as soon as his eyelids peeked out a crack, his golden eyes eagerly sank down, peering out through the slit, like a person lying on the ground looking at the world through a crack in a door.

Its golden eyes greedily licked its surroundings.

The blind man saw the black flame dragon, who had just said he needed to catch his breath, suddenly transform into a dragon, and they were about to leave the cave—a vision of the future enveloped him.
