"The situation is turning grim," one said.
"Hasn't it always been like this?" came the reply.
...
Eagles soar through the sky, fish dart in the shallow waters,...
“Merits and demerits cancel each other out, so count one, leaving nine.” Li Changzhou said as he took out four identity cards.
The squirrel breathed a sigh of relief, raised its tiny front paws, and wiped the sweat from its forehead.
"Take a 15-minute break, then continue searching." After looking at the first card, Li Changzhou took the 10 points and handed the ID card to Yang Qinglan.
"Okay!" the squirrel quickly replied.
"Should I go with them?" the polar bear woman asked.
"No need, just take care of yourself." Li Changzhou took the 30 points from the second card and handed the ID card to Yang Qinglan.
While massaging her shoulders, Li Qianxia looked at the list of skills with Yang Qinglan, wondering if any of them would be of any use.
Skills, whether E-rank or S-rank, are always welcome, but Li Changzhou's white card has six skills already filled, and he won't replace them unless he gets better ones.
Their black cards still had skill slots, but they couldn't withstand the side effects of the skills bestowed by the black mist.
The three also considered whether only white cards could eliminate the side effects, but they did not have suitable candidates for the experiment.
Those who are on their own (ostensibly) are afraid of being killed, but if they are not killed, they are afraid of being exposed, while the enemy has no suitable opportunity.
The four identity cards with mediocre skills totaled 70 points, the brown-haired woman and her dachshund totaled 30 points, and the six of them provided 100 points.
Including Yang Qinglan and Li Qianxia, Li Changzhou now has 400 points.
For an average player, it's a lot; for a player whose goal is to be number one, it's a little.
Fifteen minutes later, the squirrel darted out of the house and cautiously ran outside.
"This is so inefficient." Bi came out of the bathroom; she had just brushed her teeth, hoping to become a beautiful girl with naturally white teeth in the future.
“How long would it take a squirrel to find it like this?” she continued.
"It's okay, I still have you." Li Changzhou took out the Snow Mountain Mineral Water, poured himself a glass, and found it refreshingly cool.
He put down his cup and said, "When the insects bombard Prague at night, that's when you'll make your move."
"Let me tell you, the most I can bite through is five lollipops in one go. I was originally planning to destroy Prague over several days."
"So young, and your teeth are bad," Li Changzhou mocked her.
“What do you know, you twenty-year-old old man?” Bi retorted, arms crossed arrogantly. “It’s because I’m too young, only twelve, that my teeth are bad. Do you understand youth?”
"I understand youth, but twelve years old should be childhood."
"you--"
Before the Tsar's princess could even unleash her fury, Li Qianxia began to sing: "Childhood flowers will bloom again, birds will return once more!"
The Tsar's princess turned her gaze to her: "Qianxia, you—"
"The flowers will bloom in spring," Yang Qinglan corrected Li Qianxia.
"you--"
"Calm down." Li Changzhou handed a glass of snow mountain mineral water to the blonde, blue-eyed little girl.
The twelve-year-old girl snatched the water cup, tilted her head back, and slid her thin, white neck up and down as she swallowed.
"I'm so angry!" Bi showed no princess demeanor whatsoever, wiping her mouth with Li Changzhou's sleeve.
Looking at his tattered sleeves, Li Changzhou thought: He really is a child.
She never considered that Li Changzhou could lengthen and enlarge the Emerald Bee Sword hidden in his sleeve, stab it into her mouth, and kill her effortlessly.
"I'm going to take a nap," Li Changzhou said to Li Qianxia and Yang Qinglan, pulling back his sleeves.
"Okay!" Li Qianxia nodded.
Li Changzhou didn't go to the bedroom; instead, he lay down on the sofa and fell asleep.
Restoring physical strength and energy is secondary—though still important, of course. The main issue is that using "photo teleportation" just now consumed some of my intelligence, and sleeping can greatly shorten the recovery time.
He was more exhausted than he had imagined.
Before I could even reflect on what I had done on the way to the 'Dancing House', I had already fallen asleep.
In a half-dreaming, half-awake state, he suddenly heard cries for help and then felt someone gently pushing his body.
Li Changzhou opened his eyes and saw his sister's pretty and fair face. Before he could ask her any questions, he heard the squirrel's scream.
"Boss! Ants! So many ants!"
Li Changzhou turned his head to look out the window.
The road extending into the city has turned into a black river, which in turn branches into many smaller black rivers that attack the wooden house from all directions.
"I ran into them not long after I left home, boss... this time... can I atone for my sins?" the squirrel said with a bitter face.
Bang!
The sound of the wooden cover being lifted.
Suddenly a beam of light shone through the ceiling, and an ant, about the length of an adult's arm, used its powerful mandibles to slice off a piece of the ceiling!
“Leaf-cutter ants!” Yang Qinglan stood in that beam of light, like the most sacred goddess.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The ceiling instantly transformed into a honeycomb, with sunlight squeezing in through tiny holes, forming thin beams of light throughout the cabin.
Li Changzhou didn't look at the squirrel; his gaze fell on Aferona.
"You didn't send out any gray fog warnings?" he asked calmly.
A look of panic flashed across Aferona's face. At this moment, Yang Qinglan explained, "Two of them were destroyed by ants. I had her retrieve the rest. I told her not to wake you up immediately."
Li Changzhou ignored her explanation and said to Aferona in a serious tone, "Well done, you listened to her without me saying a word!"
"Brother," Li Qianxia said speechlessly, "have you regained your intelligence, or have you just fallen asleep and become stupid?"
Li Changzhou didn't have time to chat with his sister. He got off the sofa, strode towards the wooden door, and kicked it out.
