Flower Qingcheng, a female special agent from Huaguo in the 22nd century, accidentally fell into the sea while on a mission. When she woke up, Flower Qingcheng found that she had transmigrated, and...
"Old woman, please hurry up!"
Around 9:00 PM, under the beautiful sun and gentle breeze, an old woman in a coarse cloth shirt was driving a mule cart, creaking along the country road from Yunshui Town to Huaqiao Village in Baishui Town.
Behind the mule cart was a middle-aged man in a blue silk robe, about thirty or forty years old, with neatly combed hair and delicate makeup, but his face looked a little mean.
Next to the middle-aged man was a thin young man in a pink and purple silk dress, who looked about fourteen or fifteen years old. He was holding the man's arms with both hands and constantly urging the old woman driving the mule cart.
"My dear boy, this is the fastest speed a mule cart can go! If you still think it's too slow, why not just hire a horse carriage?"
Old Yao retorted to the impolite young man with a little displeasure. If she hadn't happened to be going to Huaqiao Village to attend a wedding, she would not have bothered to give these two people a ride who paid little and were so picky.
"You..." The young man pouted slightly and looked at the old woman in front of him angrily.
"Yuchun, be patient. The wedding doesn't start until noon. You'll still make it." The middle-aged man patted the boy's hand and comforted him softly.
"I understand, Dad!" Jiang Yuchun shut up after hearing what his father said.
Jiang Yuchun and her friends live in the neighboring Fuyun County. They received the invitation from someone else yesterday and had planned to get up early today to catch the bus, but ended up oversleeping.
The father and son hurriedly hired a carriage to take them to Huaqiao Village in Baishui Town, Fufeng County, but the driver thought the money they offered was too little and was unwilling to go any further. When they arrived at Yunshui Town, he kicked them out of the carriage and left.
Finally, Jiang Yuchun and his father stopped a mule cart and gave the other party ten cents to take them to Huaqiao Village in Baishui Town.
Aunt Yao, who was on her way to the county to order bricks for her daughter, Yao Chunhua, happened to be going to Huaqiao Village, so she took the two of them along. However, the two of them were so talkative and stingy that Aunt Yao almost regretted agreeing to give them a ride.
Hua Qingcheng, the protagonist of today's wedding in Huaqiao Village, was leading a large group from the Hua residence in the west of the village, making a lively journey to the east. A journey that usually took them a quarter of an hour took them two quarters of an hour. Finally, at around 2:30 PM, Hua Qingcheng and her group arrived at the residence of Hua's mother and father.
Six years ago, Mu Lige stayed in the Hua family as a child husband. Today, Hua Qingcheng married Mu Lige, so the home of Hua's mother and father naturally became Mu Lige's father's home.
"The bride dismounts!"
Hearing the sound of gongs and drums from the wedding procession outside the front yard, Xu Qingchuan, the lucky man in Mu Lige's room, gave Mu Lige a few instructions and then walked out of the Hua family's gate, came to the wedding procession, and acted as the happy man.
As Xu Qingchuan finished his chant, Hua Qingcheng easily dismounted from her horse.
"Please wait a moment, bride!"
Xu Qingchuan then went back to Mu Lige's room in the backyard, covered him with a red veil, and took his hand to the main hall in the front yard.
"The groom offers tea to his mother and father, thanking them for raising him!"
Xu Qingchuan handed a cup of tea to Mu Lige. Mu Lige held the lukewarm tea and bent over to present it to Hua Rongsheng.
"Li Ge serves tea to mother!"
Hua Rongsheng smiled, took the drink with both hands and drank it, then handed Mu Lige a bulging red envelope.
"Be good, Li Ge has grown up! Live a good life with Qingcheng from now on!"
"Thank you, mother!"
After serving tea to Hua's mother, Mu Lige picked up another cup of tea handed to him by Xu Qingchuan and bent down to present it to Hua's father Ye Maochun.
"Li Ge serves tea to mother!"
"Okay, okay, be good!"
Ye Maochun's eyes were filled with tears as he looked at Mu Lige with reluctance, as if someone was marrying off their son. Fortunately, the person he was marrying was his daughter. Thinking of this, Ye Maochun felt completely satisfied.
After taking the bulging red envelope handed over by Ye Maochun, Mu Lige knelt on his knees and kowtowed solemnly to Hua's mother and father.
"Li Ge thanks my mother for raising me. From now on, I will continue to be filial to my mother and father, serve my wife, and expand the Hua family!"
"Good boy, get up!"
Hua's mother and father quickly stood up from their chairs and helped Mu Lige up. This good wife is pregnant, why is she so naive and so polite?
"Sisters carry the groom to the sedan chair!"
Xu Qingchuan was immediately embarrassed after he finished shouting. This Mu Lige was an orphan, raised as a child by Rongsheng Xiucai's family. Wasn't this sister Hua Qingcheng? Moreover, Hua Qingcheng was using a carriage to welcome her bride today, not a sedan chair.
"Brother, carry the groom to the carriage!"
Xu Qingchuan thought about it and changed his words.
"Brother, I'll carry you!"
As Xu Qingchuan finished speaking, Situ Ye squatted down in front of Mu Lige. Yu Xiaotian took the red envelope from Mu Lige, freeing her hands to support Situ Ye's shoulders.
Amid the crackling sound of firecrackers, Situ Ye carried Mu Lige from the main hall of the Hua family out of the front door without touching the ground, and put him on the festively decorated carriage pulled by a white horse.
"Li Ge, we're going home!"
After personally closing the carriage curtain for Mu Lige, Hua Qingcheng finally arrived at the center of the wedding procession. By then, the Xiangyun horse had already bent slightly, allowing Hua Qingcheng to easily and effortlessly sit on its back.
Huang Feifeng and Chen San led the way again, holding "welcoming the bride" signs, followed by ten men in red who served as the welcoming staff.
Hua Qingcheng rode in the middle of the group, atop a Xiangyun horse with a large red bouquet tied to it. Behind her followed the carriage driven by Situ Ye and Si Chengfeng, carrying the groom, Mu Lige. Han Yichen and Yu Xiaotian, as usual, carried bamboo baskets and scattered rose petals.
The wedding procession, accompanied by the sound of gongs and drums and festive music, circled around the big banyan tree at the entrance of the village, turned around, and then marched towards the flower house at the end of the village.
