Upon transmigration, Yu Xiangnian became a shrew in a military family compound during the 1970s. Her husband didn't love her, "her" children weren't close to her, and the neighbors ...
"You don't look well. Are you sick?" He seemed very concerned.
Wen Qin smiled and shook her head, "No." She just missed him too much and didn't sleep well.
He sighed deeply and took out a bag of milk powder from his briefcase. "Here, go home and make some water to drink."
Wen Qin doesn't want it.
He took her hand and put the milk powder in her hand, "Take it quickly, you look thinner, you need more nutrition."
Wen Qin's whole body felt numb as if she had been electrocuted. She held the bag of milk powder and stared at him blankly.
He smiled gently, "Go back quickly, I still have to work overtime, we will talk next time."
Wen Qin looked at his back as he walked away quickly, and her heart felt like it was filled with honey.
In this way, Wen Qin would go to see him every few days. Naturally, she would not see him one or two times out of three times. Even if she did see him, he was very busy. They would just say a few words and then leave.
But even if they could meet just once, Wen Qin would be extremely happy.
Sometimes they would have dinner and chat, and sometimes they would go to a nearby park just to chat, and their relationship became increasingly close.
Wen Qin later found out that the bag of milk powder was a nutritional subsidy given to him by his unit. Of course, he would still give Wen Qin something from time to time.
Wen Qin could tell that he had read a lot of books, traveled to many places, and had profound thoughts.
Seventeen-year-old Wen Qin already regarded him as a god in her heart.
Several young men in the factory expressed their love for Wen Qin, but her heart was already tied to him.
Wen Qin, however, could never understand how he felt about her.
Wen Qin thought of a clumsy way to test his thoughts.
She pretended to accidentally reveal to him that several young men were pursuing her. He just smiled and told her to think about it carefully.
Wen Qin was sad because it turned out that he had no such intention towards her.
They spent more than two months together like this. One day, when Wen Qin was on her way to find him, she was stopped by a young man from the factory.
The young man expressed his love to her. Wen Qin wanted to refuse, but found that he was standing not far away listening with a sullen expression.
Wen Qin held back her refusal and tried to test his reaction.
He turned away angrily. Wen Qin became anxious, and sent the young man away with a few perfunctory words, then caught up with him.
She wanted to explain, but before she could open her mouth, he hugged her tightly in his arms.
"Don't promise him." He said aggrievedly and anxiously, "I like you too."
This sudden confession made Wen Qin forget to breathe. She was nervous, excited, happy...all kinds of emotions were beyond words.
This is how the relationship between the two was established.
He said that his identity was special and the relationship between them would be kept secret for the time being and would be announced at an appropriate time.
The two of them dated secretly for several months, and Wen Qin was immersed in this sweet and exciting feeling.
It was a day in the early autumn, when the days were getting shorter. He said that the company had distributed a pound of mutton, and he took her to the dormitory to cook it.
It was a single dormitory with a bed, a desk, and a simple wardrobe. Every corner was tidy and clean.
He cooked mutton for her on a kerosene stove and made two other dishes.
When the two finished their meal, it was dark.
He said he would take me back because it was too unsafe at this late hour.
Wen Qin declined, and after a while of tugging and pulling, he suddenly hugged her and said, "Stay tonight. I don't want you to leave."
It was in his dormitory that the two of them broke through that layer of relationship.
Wen Qin lied to her family and said that it was almost the end of the year, and the superiors had given her new tasks, so the factory had rescheduled the work schedule and she would often have to work night shifts.
In the following months, the two often had sex in his dormitory.
But their relationship was discovered by people in his unit.
That day, Wen Qin sneaked into his dormitory and waited for him. When she opened the door, there was a woman inside.
Without saying a word, the woman slapped Wen Qin twice.
Wen Qin's face suddenly swelled up and she stood there in a daze.
When he rushed to the dormitory, he kept apologizing to the woman. Wen Qin then realized that this woman was his wife and they already had a two-year-old son.
At that moment, Wen Qin felt like the world was collapsing!
She subconsciously thought that he had never been married.
How can a married man be nice to another woman? How can he say that he likes another woman?
Wen Qin fled in a hurry, and spent those days in a daze like a soulless puppet.
On the third day, he found Wen Qin outside the factory returning home from get off work.
He cried bitterly and said that his marriage to his wife was arranged by his parents. His wife was one year older than him and he had never liked his wife.
He chose to be assigned to this place to stay away from his wife.
The reason he hid the fact that he was married was that he was afraid of losing her; he loved her too much.
He asked her to give him time, he would divorce her and he would marry her.
Wen Qin looked at the man who was as gentle as the breeze and bright moon, and who was now crying and heartbroken in front of her, and her heart softened.
Wen Qin thought, yes, he must have been forced to marry his wife. That woman was not pretty and was fierce.
She was willing to wait for him to get a divorce.
He vowed solemnly that he would divorce his wife and marry her, because she was the one he loved!
Wen Qin waited for a month. She couldn't bear it any longer and ran to wait for him outside the government office, but she didn't see him for several days.
She ran to his dormitory to look for him again, but found out that someone else had moved in there.
The new man who moved in told her that his assignment was over and he was returning to his hometown.
His father-in-law is a high-ranking official, so how could he let his son-in-law stay in this place for the rest of his life?
Wen Qin told herself that he would definitely go back to get a divorce, and she just had to wait for him.
