The eldest daughter of the Su family, stolen away for 18 years, has returned! She's actually a little Taoist priestess from the countryside who can divine fortunes and capture ghosts.
As ...
The main structure of the cabin is basically completed.
The rest are just odd jobs, repairs and patchwork.
After discussing it, they decided to go back into the woods to find some suitable timber.
Qi Minghao went a little too far.
Suddenly, there was a "click" sound under my feet, as if I had stepped on something hard.
He hurriedly looked down.
Huh? Something's flashing in the soil!
His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly squatted down, using his hands to dig away the damp soil.
Good heavens! It's a necklace!
The blue gems, each one full and round, gleamed softly in the shadows of the trees.
He looked to the side again.
There was a small pit nearby, and scattered around its edge were even more gems!
Red, green, and yellow hues are half-hidden in the soil.
Qi Minghao grabbed a few gems, his heart pounding with excitement.
He took off running back, rushed to the group, and spread his hands:
"Look! Look what treasure I found! It's over there on that little mound! There are gems, lots and lots of gems!"
Upon hearing this, Yan Shisi frowned: "Even ghosts don't usually go to that place, how did you end up there?"
"I just accidentally went the wrong way!"
Qi Minghao said nonchalantly, "That's not the point! The point is the treasure!"
Yan Ning stared at the gemstone, his expression somewhat grave:
"This thing looks old-fashioned, Qi Minghao, you didn't dig up someone's ancestral grave, did you?"
Qi Minghao was stunned, his smile froze:
"No...no way? Don't scare me!"
With some skepticism, everyone followed Qi Minghao back to the place where the gemstone was found.
When Yan Shisi got closer and took a look, his expression completely changed.
He carefully examined the area around the pit and the scattered soil and rocks, his voice becoming serious:
"This is troublesome. This looks like the graves of pirates from the past. The typhoon was so strong recently that it probably washed away these old graves."
"My grandfather told me that many pirates were buried on this island, and their treasure is also hidden there."
He paused, looked at Qi Minghao, and his tone carried a hint of warning:
“But my grandfather also said that these are ill-gotten gains and should not be touched. If you dig them up easily, you will get into trouble! So I never had the idea of looking for them.”
He pointed to the things in the pit: "Put them back, don't take them."
Qi Minghao looked at the gem in his hand, then at the tempting pit, feeling a hundred times unwilling.
But Yan Shisi spoke with absolute certainty, and he hesitated repeatedly.
In the end, he sighed and reluctantly put the gem back on the edge of the pit.
Su Muyao followed at the very back.
She didn't say anything, but her heart felt like it was being scratched by cat claws.
Those gems were so big and so shiny, they must have been worth a lot of money!
Much prettier than the jewelry in the city store windows!
Should she just put it back like that? She wasn't willing to give up.
Everyone returned to the cabin.
Fishing, eating fish, and the day quickly passed.
Night had fallen, and the cottage was completely silent.
Su Muyao lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.
The brilliance of the gemstone seemed to dance before her eyes, lingering there.
Other treasures, glittering faintly, could be seen in the pit.
This made her even more anxious and restless.
"Put it back? On what grounds?"
A voice screamed in her mind, "Maybe Yan Shisi is just a coward? Maybe nothing's wrong at all? So many treasures are right there, it would be a shame not to take them."
In the latter half of the night, moonlight shone through the small window.
Su Muyao sat up abruptly. She couldn't hold back any longer!
She tiptoed out of bed, afraid of making the slightest noise.
She crept quietly to the pile of tools and picked up a heavy shovel.
My heart was pounding like a drum.
Taking a deep breath, she slipped out of the cabin and plunged into the dark woods.
The moonlight was faint, and the shadows of the trees swayed like menacing monsters.
She stumbled along, relying on her memory from the day, groping her way deeper into the woods.
It was tense, yet also thrilling and adventurous.
All around me were the chirping of insects and the sound of my own heartbeat.
The wind rustled through the leaves, startling her.
Sudden!
"Snap!"
Not far behind, a clear sound of a branch snapping came!
Su Muyao felt her hair stand on end and her heart nearly leap out of her throat!
"who?!"
She turned around abruptly, gripped the shovel tightly, and her voice trembled.
In the darkness, a figure was walking quickly toward her.
Su Muyao was so frightened that she almost picked up a shovel and smashed it!
A figure approached.
The moonlight outlined his silhouette.
Su Muyao's eyes widened in disbelief.
It was Qi Minghao!
He arrived too, clutching a shovel in his hand!
The two stood facing each other in the dim woods.
The air froze instantly.
Su Muyao's heart almost jumped out of her throat.
Upon recognizing Qi Minghao, she was first taken aback, then overwhelmed with embarrassment at being caught red-handed.
Her face flushed red instantly.
Qi Minghao was also startled, but after recognizing Su Muyao, he realized it was her.
A hint of unease flashed across his face as well.
He scratched his head and lowered his voice: "You...you can't sleep either?"
The two stared at each other, the atmosphere awkward and subtle.
But soon, their gazes all turned in the same direction.
That little hillside where gems are hidden
"Cough cough."
Qi Minghao cleared his throat, his eyes flickering, "Since we're already here..."
Su Muyao immediately understood what he meant.
Her initial fear vanished in the face of immense temptation.
She nodded vigorously, her eyes regaining their eagerness:
"Yes! We'll dig it up and take a look, but we might not even take it! What if it's unclaimed?"
