The eldest daughter of the Su family, stolen away for 18 years, has returned! She's actually a little Taoist priestess from the countryside who can divine fortunes and capture ghosts.
As ...
"Thump! Clang!"
A deafening crash resounded in everyone's ears.
"They've used battering rams! Sir, what should we do?"
"I can't believe it," the butler asked anxiously.
Master Ye looked at his sturdy mahogany gate.
It cracked open under the heavy blow.
He never expected the town mayor to be so ruthless.
They showed absolutely no regard for past relationships!
He didn't care anymore; he had to fight back today!
"Hold on! Hold on for your life!"
His roar was thunderous, and his eyes were bloodshot:
"Tables! Chairs! Bring them all over to block the door! We absolutely cannot let them in!"
He charged forward like an enraged lion.
He slammed his entire body against the door.
Several loyal servants gritted their teeth and followed.
"Qingling! Get behind! Quickly!" Master Ye roared without turning his head.
The impacts from outside the door grew increasingly violent.
Each beat was more urgent than the last.
The mayor brought far too many people.
A dark mass, like a swarm of frantic ants.
"BOOM—!!!"
A loud bang was heard, and wood chips flew everywhere.
The gate was finally forced open completely.
Broken door panels lay scattered on the ground.
The town mayor led his men in, storming in aggressively.
Like a black torrent.
His eyes scanned like those of a venomous snake.
He instantly spotted Yan Ning in the crowd.
"Master Yan!"
The town mayor sneered, his voice chilling, "Let's see where you can fly this time!"
Master Ye, panting heavily, stood in front of Yan Ning, glaring angrily at the town mayor:
"You surnamed Wang! What do you think you're doing? Trying to snatch someone from my house in broad daylight? Is there no law anymore?"
"The law?"
The town mayor scoffed, his eyes filled with disdain. "Mr. Ye, haven't you grasped the situation yet? My men are surrounding you now! Your life is in my hands!"
"If you know what's good for you, hand over Su Yanning! Don't force me to take action!"
"Pah! You want to steal my man? Dream on!"
Master Ye stubbornly refused to budge an inch.
The town mayor gave a cold, smirking smile, no longer looking at Master Ye, his gaze fixed on Yan Ning:
"Su Yanning, you're soft-hearted, aren't you? You don't want your friends to die because of you, do you?"
He suddenly waved his hand.
The crowd was separated.
Su Muyao, Qi Minghao, and Feng Jun were seen being pushed forward, bound hand and foot!
Three gleaming steel knives.
It was hanging by a thread from their necks.
Su Muyao was terrified.
Her face was covered in tears and snot as she screamed, "Yan Ning! Save me! I don't want to die! Please!"
Qi Minghao was so frightened that his legs went weak, and he shouted and cursed in shock and anger:
"I've had the worst luck imaginable! I was thrown out for no reason, and now I've been kidnapped! What did I ever do to deserve this?!"
"Shut up!"
The burly man holding him down viciously struck him with the back of his knife.
Qi Minghao cried out in pain and dared not utter another sound.
The town mayor stared at Yan Ning, his voice like a death knell:
"Want to save them? Fine! You'll have to trade yourself for them! One for three, a great deal!"
Sun Wuji, standing nearby, was so anxious he was jumping up and down:
"Sister Ning! Don't listen to him! Don't go there! How have Su Muyao and the others treated you? They've done plenty of things to kick you when you're down! They're not worth saving!"
Xie Huaiye quickly glanced at his phone screen.
He lowered his voice and said urgently:
"Zhou Tian replied; he and the police are on their way! They'll be there soon! Try to stall them!"
All eyes were on Yan Ning.
Her face was pale, but her eyes were unusually calm.
She quickly glanced at the three despairing Su Muyao, then glanced at Xie Huaiye.
Time was of the essence, and the police were on their way.
But the mayor's men could kill him at any moment.
At this critical moment.
Yan Ning took a deep breath, as if she had made up her mind.
She took a step forward, her voice clear and firm:
"Okay! I'll switch! Release them!"
"Sister Ning! You're so confused!" Sun Wuji cried out anxiously.
A smug, triumphant smile flashed in the mayor's eyes:
"You're smart to know what's good for you! Release them!"
Su Muyao and the other two were roughly shoved towards them.
He fell down at Master Ye's feet like a piece of trash.
Almost simultaneously.
Yan Ning strode towards the town mayor.
As soon as she stepped into the other group, several thugs pounced on her like wolves!
"Grab her!"
Her backpack was forcibly ripped off.
The magical artifacts and talismans inside were brutally looted.
Then, the rough hemp rope tightened around her wrists.
They were tied behind their backs.
Their movements were so fast that no one could react in time.
"Hmm."
A huge sack was dumped over their heads!
Everything went completely dark in an instant.
The air has also become polluted.
Yan Ning felt dizzy as she was roughly lifted up and shoved into a car outside.
The engine roared, and the car sped away, leaving a trail of dust in its wake.
"Yan Ning—!" Ye Qingling's cries were left behind.
The mayor's men came and went quickly.
All that remained in the courtyard was the broken gate and the still-shaken crowd.
Amidst the chaos and despair.
The piercing sound of sirens grew louder as they approached!
"Woo-wah—woo-wah—"
The police finally arrived!
Sun Wuji grasped at this straw.
He rushed over like a madman and grabbed the lead policeman:
"Police officers! Hurry! Go save them! Mayor! The mayor took Yan Ning away! They have knives! They're going to kill him!"
On the other side.
Yan Ning was roughly carried into the car, her stomach churning.
