Chapter 3: All Negative Scores

The accompanying staff immediately stepped forward to stop the man and tried to explain the whole story to him.

Jiang Hexi stood to the side and asked Chu Yang, "Isn't this our fishpond?"

"Isn't that so?"

Chu Yang pulled out the marked map from her bag, examined it carefully, and said with absolute certainty, "Sister, this is our fishpond!"

Upon hearing this, the uncle yelled at the top of his lungs, "You're talking nonsense! I've lived in this village for decades, and this fishpond has always been mine!"

Jiang Hexi glanced at the map and said helplessly, "You're holding the map upside down."

An eerie silence fell over the surroundings.

Knowing he had made a mistake, Chu Yang went over to apologize to the uncle, "Uncle, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have fished for your fish without your permission."

The uncle's temper flared up and subsided quickly. He pulled a long, sour face and said, "Stop talking nonsense, just tell me how to resolve this!"

"Since we've already caught the fish, we might as well make the best of a bad situation and buy these two fish."

Jiang Hexi looked at the director beside her and held onto the bucket tightly.

The director wouldn't let her have her way. He insisted on his principles, saying, "You don't have the money to buy these two fish. Fortunately, you know your mistake and can correct it. You can still put the fish back."

“Well then,” Jiang Hexi said, taking a step back to move forward, “we were in the wrong first, so we should listen to Uncle’s opinion on this matter.”

She walked up to the uncle, smiled, and asked, "Uncle, how much does a pound of silver carp and bighead carp cost in the village?"

Uncle: "Eight yuan."

Jiang Hexi nodded knowingly, "Then I'll give you ten yuan, will you sell it or not?"

The uncle readily agreed, "Sell!"

Jiang Hexi shrugged helplessly at the staff, "You've all heard the uncle's opinion. Please ask the production team to cover the cost. I'll put the bill in my name later, so the production team won't have to spend any money."

The director has learned something new this time; he never knew you could renege on a debt like this!

Chu Yang and Jiang Hexi returned to the wooden building and went straight to the kitchen to find Yu Xiangwan.

The three of them sat around the bucket, looking at the two lively silver carp and bighead carp, discussing how to kill them.

"To kill a fish, you have to hit it with a cleaver until it's stunned before you can gut it."

Yu Xiangwan glanced at the two of them and said, "I need a helper to hold this fish down and stop it from wagging its tail everywhere. Which of you two can do it?"

Chu Yang modestly said, "Sister Jiang, you should do it. My hands are slippery, and they're even slipperier after touching the fish scales."

Jiang Hexi was speechless and had no choice but to bite the bullet and go along with it.

She fished a fish out of the bucket, and after much effort, managed to pin it down on the cutting board. The fish's tail then splashed water all over her face.

"Wanwan, I can't hold her down any longer, please take the paddle off her!"

Yu Xiangwan, still holding the kitchen knife, closed her eyes and mentally prepared herself, saying, "Wait a little longer, I'll be done soon."

"Wanwan, you've never killed a fish before?"

"I'm a novice; this is my first time killing a fish."

Yu Xiangwan opened her eyes, her evil intentions rising. She raised the kitchen knife menacingly. Before Jiang Hexi could even back down, she saw Yu Xiangwan slash the knife down, and with a "smack," the knife struck the fish's head.

Jiang Hexi subconsciously shrank her shoulders and trembled all over.

With a swift motion, Yu Xiangwan slammed the cleaver down twice more, "smack—smack—", and the fish was completely stunned.

Jiang Hexi shrank back three times in a row, completely terrified.

Yu Xiangwan immediately put down the cleaver, her hand too weak to lift it. The fish was left on the cutting board, and no one mentioned gutting it again.

Yan Jie returned to the wooden building before dark.

Two toddlers followed behind him. As soon as he entered the yard, the two children stuffed the chickens they were carrying into the chicken coop.

"Uncle, I've put both chickens back in their cages for you."

Yan Jie nodded in satisfaction and instructed them, "Uncle has saved some chicken legs for you. Remember to come over for dinner."

"Thank you, Uncle."

The two children happily agreed, waved, and ran off in a flash.

Director Chen had the PD cameraman follow them to capture the "famous scene" of Yan Jie catching chickens and the eggs flying everywhere. Who would have thought that he would trick the two kids into catching chickens for him by offering them two chicken legs as a reward, thus ruining a perfectly good "explosive moment".

He was holding back his anger with nowhere to vent it when something even more infuriating happened next.

Shen Yingyu found an older woman from somewhere and hired her as a nanny, saying she was responsible for cooking three meals a day for five people, with a daily wage of one hundred yuan.

Upon hearing this, the second generation applauded and celebrated.

The auntie worked quickly and efficiently, slaughtering the live chicken in no time, gutting and cleaning the fish, and then cooking on two stoves. She steamed the fish and stir-fried the chicken, preparing three dishes and a soup in less than an hour, and then served the food on the long table.

The live stream started again in the evening.

Director Chen looked at the sumptuous dishes on the table, then at the chaebol heirs who were eating without lifting a finger, and could no longer suppress his raging anger. He demanded:

"Where would you get the money to hire a nanny?"

"Auntie's salary," Shen Yingyu paused, whetting Director Chen's appetite, then said with a sly grin, "monthly."

Director Chen angrily cursed:

"You owe so much debt, you're penniless, you spend money recklessly, you can't even cook for yourselves, how dare you hire a housekeeper?"

Jiang Hexi was displeased upon hearing this.

She put down her chopsticks, ready to have a serious discussion with Director Chen:

"Director Chen, if we weren't so poor, with Auntie's skills, we would pay her a thousand dollars a day, let alone a hundred dollars a day."
