As the young lady of a top luxury family, Jiang Hexi was sent to a farming reality show to experience life after losing a billion in investments. Accompanying her in farming were four super-rich se...
Jiang Hexi never expected to meet a loyal fan of a farming reality show at a pet store.
She enthusiastically took photos with her fans, and after seeing them off, she couldn't help but wonder:
Is idol worship popular in Yicheng?
"It depends on which celebrity you're following."
“In Shenzhen and Hong Kong, it’s not unusual to run into superstars shopping for groceries. Most people will greet them warmly, but locals rarely go up to take photos or ask for autographs.”
Yan Jie understood the implication in her words, "Does the behavior of your fans make you feel burdened?"
"A sweet burden."
Jiang Hexi turned her head to look outside, and seeing that no one was paying attention, she curled her toes uncomfortably. "I will never dare to wear slippers when I go out again."
Yan Jie looked down at the flip-flops on her feet and chuckled twice. With just one glance, he remembered her ten round and cute toes.
Ignoring Jin Bai's vehement objections, Jiang Hexi insisted on giving it a luxurious, elegant look.
As she admired the idea she had proposed, she boasted to Yan Jie:
"Look at that fluffy, fan-shaped tail, how swaying and charming it is when it walks! And that firm, peach-shaped bottom, that slender waist, that beautiful, fluffy face—who wouldn't be mesmerized by my Golden White?"
Yan Jie commented with remarkable objectivity, "Are you sure it won't bite you if you cut it like this?"
Jiang Hexi: "..."
She knew she would never hear a kind word from him.
As evening approached, the two came out of the pet store.
Jiang Hexi carried the 60-pound Jinbai with difficulty to the roadside:
"Yan Wang, could you please drive your car over here? I can barely lift this heavy thing anymore."
"Why don't you just put it on the ground?"
"This floor is so dirty," Jiang Hexi said with disdain. "If gold and white powder fall on this floor, wouldn't all this high-end cleaning be for nothing?"
Yan Jie reached out to take the Chow Chow from her arms, but she dodged him by turning to the side.
"It doesn't know you well, it might bite you."
"Then keep going."
Yan Jie quickly returned, driving a red LaFerrari and stopping in front of her.
Jiang Hexi looked at the flashy supercar, her gaze lingering on the only passenger seat, and rejected him without a second thought:
"Your Highness, I won't trouble you this time. I'll call a car to go back."
"Isn't this a car?"
The car window rolled down automatically, and Yan Jie's slightly raised eyebrows subtly revealed his dissatisfaction.
Jiang Hexi said helplessly, "Your car only has two seats. With you, me, and Jin Bai, we need at least three seats to fit everyone."
Yan Jie has driven sports cars for so many years, and countless people have tried to climb into his passenger seat, but only Jiang Hexi has so clearly refused him and given such a good reason.
The car door opened, and he got out of the driver's seat. He walked up behind her with a cold aura, then grabbed her arm and pushed her and the dog into the passenger seat, before fastening the seatbelt.
He held onto the car door and lectured her, "Isn't this enough space for you to sit?"
She said with a stern expression, "What you're doing constitutes illegal overloading."
"Overloading requires a human element. Is your dog even a human?"
After saying this, Yan Jie pulled down the car door and slammed it shut.
Jiang Hexi had ridden in his car before. This guy could drive the village chief's tricycle so fast it seemed like it was flying, let alone this kind of supercar.
"King Yan, drive carefully."
Yan Jie nodded knowingly, stepped on the gas, the engine roared, and the car shot off with a "whoosh".
Jiang Hexi buried her face in the Chow Chow's thick fur, closing her eyes tightly, unable to look, until she heard his teasing:
"It's only 40 miles per hour, and your dog isn't even afraid of it, but you're such a coward."
"This is the city center. Even if I had amazing skills, I wouldn't dare to speed here."
Jiang Hexi glanced at the dashboard; the speed was only forty kilometers per hour, but she could hear the sound of a speed of over a hundred miles per hour.
"Now I finally understand why supercars are so expensive."
Yan Jie, gripping the steering wheel, asked, "Why?"
Jiang Hexi hugged the Chow Chow tightly and succinctly summarized, "Because it sells itself on its reputation."
Yan Jie's expression froze for a moment, then he tilted his head and said with amusement, "That makes sense."
The supercar was parked in the backyard of a villa on the outskirts of Beijing.
Jiang Hexi got out of the car carrying the Chow Chow and said frankly, "We have guests at home today, so I won't invite you in. I'll treat you to dinner another day."
Seeing that she didn't try to stop her, Yan Jie called out to her, "Xi-mei, aren't you surprised how I knew you were in Yicheng?"
Why?
My grandfather is visiting your home today.
Jiang Hexi suddenly realized, "So you were picking up your grandfather and that's why you gave me a ride home?"
Yan Jie couldn't answer the question, so he could only accept that what she said was true.
Jiang Hexi changed her attitude from before and warmly invited him, "Since you're already here, come in with me."
The elders chatted warmly in the living room, creating a harmonious and joyful atmosphere.
"Grandpa, I'm back."
Jiang Hexi carried Jinbai into the living room and greeted the guests: "Hello, grandfathers and uncles."
Chen Laosan said cheerfully, "Ximei, come sit next to your grandfather. Oh—what's this, Lao Yan? Isn't this your grandson?"
Grandpa Yan was looking down at his phone and had just typed "Xi-mei is back" when he looked up and saw his unfilial grandson following closely behind Jiang He-xi as they walked in.
He was both surprised and delighted, and suddenly realized that his grandson had made something of himself!
