Crown Prince Zhang Youye from the Jing Circle. He was known for his noble, lazy, and unruly nature. After encountering his mother's affair, he was determined not to go through with the arranged...
In the afternoon, the sky remained foggy and oppressive.
Looking up, the distant horizon seemed to have been slashed open by a sharp blade, and dark clouds filled the view, just waiting for the torrential rain to pour down from the opening.
Standing in front of the bedroom window, Shu Yi closed her eyes.
After taking a nap, I felt much better. I glanced at the clock on the wall; it was a quarter past three.
Since returning to my ancestral home, life without working has become incredibly simple and brutal; all I do every day is eat and sleep.
Otherwise, she would be taken out to play by Zhang Youye, and she lived like a useless person.
Turning around and picking up her phone from the coffee table behind her, Shu Yi was about to send a message to Zhang Youye when a familiar male voice came from beside her ear.
"My most beautiful woman, you're awake?"
Looking in the direction of the sound, Zhang Youye, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, was resting his elbows on the windowsill.
He crossed his forearms, his fingertips dangling, his deep eyes surging like waves, and the smile on his lips seemed to part the clouds behind him with a boundless and unrestrained quality.
He appeared at the window against the light, his entire silhouette hidden in the oppressive sky.
Seeing this, Shu Yi subconsciously took two steps forward, wanting to maintain a close, face-to-face position with him.
"How did you suddenly appear like a ghost?" Shu Yi said. "It startled me."
With a doting gesture, Zhang Youye raised his hand to pat her head, then turned around and entered the house through a side door.
Although it was the first time I had entered Shuyi's boudoir.
He was completely at ease.
Taking advantage of his status as her husband, he casually lay down on Shu Yi's bed, rolled around a few times, and then picked up the blanket that Shu Yi had covered him with and smelled it.
"Honey, your blanket smells so good. I really want to sleep in your bed with you."
I'm defeated by this pervert whose only thought is to sleep naked.
Too lazy to pay attention to his words, Shu Yi sat on the sofa and poured herself a cup of tea to moisten her dry throat.
"It's almost 3:30, and I still don't know if it's going to rain or not. What were you doing before?"
"I was having tea with the old man earlier." Rolling around on Shu Yi's big bed like a worm, Zhang Youye poked his head out from under the covers. "After your grandfather goes for his afternoon nap, I'll wander around here by myself."
Sensing the boredom in his words, Shu Yi put down her teacup, got up, and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Are you bored? How about we go go racing now?"
He took her slender fingers and played with them in his palm, then shook his head, his tone becoming serious.
"No need, it's already this late. Your uncle's family is coming over tonight, so we have to stay here."
As they were talking, Tingli's figure carrying snacks flashed past the window. Seeing this, Shuyi gently nudged Zhang Youye, who was lying in bed and refusing to get up.
"Tingli is here, get up first."
Pushing open the door, she immediately noticed the messy bed and the young master tidying his clothes, then glanced at the composed second young lady, and stood there suppressing a laugh.
"Second Miss, Young Master Youye, these are some new pastries made by the chef. Please come and try them."
"The old man said that we young people don't like to drink tea or similar beverages, so he asked the kitchen to make milk tea for you. Please drink it while it's still hot."
After saying that, Tingli left in a flash.
After the two finished their snacks, Zhang Youye told Shu Yi that Zhang Huaiyi would come to the ancestral home to meet her that evening. Then, Old Master Shu woke up from his afternoon nap.
Upon receiving a message from Wei Bo's messenger, the two immediately got up and left for Shu Qiyi's villa.
...
Even as evening approached, the sky remained overcast and gray.
The lingering, incessant rain is like a tormenting mosquito, constantly buzzing around your ear, but you can never accurately predict when it will come to suck your blood.
The time came to 6:30.
Several luxury cars were parked one after another at the gate of the ancestral home.
When Shu Chuanran opened the door of the Porsche, Wei Bo, who had been waiting for a long time, respectfully walked to the side of the car and welcomed Shu Qianxin, who was sitting in the passenger seat, out the door.
"Miss, young master, we've been waiting for you."
Stepping through the ancestral home gate, Shu Chuanran asked as she walked, "Uncle Wei, have Dad and Mom arrived?"
“Yes, the master and madam arrived about twenty minutes earlier than you,” Uncle Wei replied.
Perhaps worried that the family dinner might end badly, Shu Chuanran turned to Shu Qianxin and gave her some instructions.
"If things don't look good later, don't say a word. I'll take care of everything."
Upon hearing this, Shu Qianxin obediently lowered her head.
Although the brother and sister did not have Shu family blood in their veins, over the years, Wei Bo had developed a deep bond with them.
Hearing this, he smiled and comforted him, "Young Master, don't be nervous, we're all family."
He followed behind Wei Bo.
The two quickly arrived at the reception area of the dining room.
Seeing that her parents were already sitting beside her grandfather, chatting and drinking tea with him, and that the atmosphere between the three of them was quite good, Shu Chuanran felt relieved and gestured to her younger sister to go forward and greet him.
Receiving a signal from her brother, Shu Qianxin stepped forward and said with a smile, "Grandpa, Dad, Mom, we're here."
"Xinxin is here." Shu Qiyi waved happily. "Come, sit next to Grandpa. Ranran, you come too. Your second sister and Youye are doing something in the garden. They'll be here in a bit."
Obediently sitting down next to Shu Qiyi, and gesturing for his younger sister to chat with their grandfather, Shu Chuanran turned his head to exchange a glance with Qin Zhi and asked in a low voice.
"Mom, why did you come with Dad? Didn't we agree that I would come home to pick you up?"
Qin Zhi raised her teacup to moisten her lips and replied casually, "It's nothing. I was just thinking I could go to your dad's company to take a look, so I had the family driver take me there first."
