Chapter 29 Numb.29 Underwear

After going downstairs, the weather forecast, which Xu Wu had always considered a fraud, surprisingly returned on time.

A fine drizzle hung obliquely, the scenery outside the rain curtain resembling a severely out-of-focus color still photograph, automatically isolating the noise from the classroom's sound system. Before long, the rain began to show signs of wreaking havoc, raindrops forming puddles on the ground, damp air clinging to their cheeks, the wind blowing their hair across their foreheads, and a chill in the air.

"Did you bring an umbrella?" Xu Wu glanced at the person beside her and saw him staring blankly at the rain. She frowned and called out to him again, emphasizing each word: "Jie Ying."

Jie Ying snapped out of her daze, lowered her eyes, spread her hands in front of her, and shook her head.

Seeing this, Xu Wu didn't say much, and looked back at the rain with some worry.

She had thought she could at least get home before the rain started, but just now—

She did not refuse.

She couldn't explain why she didn't refuse.

If I had to say...

Xu Wu could only attribute it all to the confusion and infatuation caused by being deluded, and the familiar scent of freesia on Jie Ying.

To be more precise, it smelled no different from her own scent, and was even stronger.

It's like being completely soaked in shower gel.

This feels really strange. Xu Wu lowered her eyes, her index finger unconsciously curling up and then relaxing.

Why is it that her scent is almost identical to his?

What would he be doing huddled under the covers, enveloped in this smell?

Xu Wu began to have uncontrollable wild thoughts, which gradually turned into malicious speculation.

Will he, like last time, comfort himself by holding her photo in a room filled with her scent?

It's not that we can't do it.

"fog."

When Jie Ying spoke, his voice was low, as if with each breath, the freesia was drawn from his lungs, dissolved into the air, and then sent to Xu Wu's side.

Xu Wu was forced to snap out of her daze, and took a slightly awkward step to the side before asking him, "What's wrong?"

As he looked up, the soft strands of hair that fell across Jie Ying's cheeks and forehead swayed with his movements.

For some reason, even though it was a simple, almost mundane movement, Xu Wu felt a sudden tightness in her chest. It was as if every strand of hair was rushing towards her, possessing her with an air of self-righteousness, as if it were obeying its owner's command.

The next second, her gaze froze on Jie Ying's raised hand.

A hand with distinct knuckles, pale in the cold rain, gripped the top zipper of the coat and applied slight pressure, the front half of the rounded nails turning slightly white. Then, with that force, the zipper was pulled down, the coat opened, revealing a black undershirt.

He was wearing a black knitted bodysuit that clung tightly to his body, accentuating his waistline beautifully.

Xu Wu's heart skipped a beat. She turned her head away and unconsciously licked her lips. Before she could even take a step to create distance, something suddenly covered her head, enveloping her in a small and enclosed space. The person's arms were on either side of her head.

In just a moment, she could neither hear nor smell the muddy mixture of rain and soil, nor the chaotic, silent noise. All she could hear was the deafening sound of her heart rising and falling gently in her chest.

The only thing on the tip of her nose was a freesia, not only hers, but also Jieying's.

From the strands of hair, to the slender neck, and finally to the tightly pursed thin lips.

The energy was merging wildly, until it seemed to want to bind them together completely.

The garment separated them from the clamor of the rain, and Xu Wu couldn't take her eyes off it.

Jie Ying's lowered gaze was reflected directly in her eyes, making her alluringly beautiful.

After a long pause, he spoke softly, clutching his clothes tightly to make sure Xu Wu wouldn't get wet: "If we leave now, we won't get wet."

Upon hearing this, Xu Wu reluctantly shifted her gaze back to the rain. The rain wasn't heavy enough to make it impossible for anyone to move, not to mention that Jie Ying had given her her clothes, so she wouldn't get wet much. If they had delayed any longer, things might have been different.

Thinking of this, Xu Wu didn't refute him, but nodded and looked at him: "And what about you?"

Jie Ying's eyes curved into a restrained smile, the curve of his lips so small as to be negligible, yet his joy was still clearly palpable.

"Is the fog a sign of concern?"

He was secretly waiting for Xu Wu's answer.

Xu Wu merely frowned and glanced at him, saying nothing. With a little effort, she pulled the coat from his hand and walked straight into the rain.

The raindrops fell heavily on my clothes, and it was obvious that they would soon be covered with a dense layer of raindrops.

Not only the freesia, Xu Wu ignored the commotion behind him as Jie Ying hurriedly tried to catch up.

She held up her clothes to shield herself from the rain, her eyes lowered as she looked down at the road. Her steps were not slow, but that did not prevent her thoughts from wandering.

It has a very pleasant scent, not completely covered by freesia, it's the original scent of Jieying.

It wasn't pungent or unpleasant; if anything, it smelled more like her natural body odor, almost completely filling her mouth and nose.

"Wait, wait, wait for me."

He chased after her, calling her name as he went.

Xu Wu ignored him and slowed his pace.

The two figures quickly disappeared at the corner of the downhill slope, and were seen by the people on the teaching building. The person was expressionless, and the hand on the low wall was slowly tightening.

"Why change? I finally settled on this, why change it?" An impatient female voice came from not far away, getting closer as she spoke: "If you have a problem with this, go talk to Chu Lian. The list has been submitted and you're telling me you want to change people? Are you kidding me?"

Shang Xu turned around and bumped into Fu Xi, who was standing with his arms crossed and looking annoyed, and Zheng Liangwen, who was standing next to her with his hands clasped together and saying nice things.

The two men walked up to him shortly afterward.

Shang Xu greeted Fu Xi with a smile.

"What exactly do you want?" Fu Xi stopped in her tracks, at a loss. She frowned at Shang Xu: "I asked you several times before if you wanted to play the male lead, and you said you didn't have time. Now you do?"

“And you,” Fu Xi turned around and glared at Zheng Liangwen, “what did you promise me back then? Now you’re telling me you’re not going to act anymore?”

Zheng Liangwen glanced at Shang Xu, scratched his head awkwardly, and said, "I didn't know it would take so long. Shang Xu wanted to go, and he just started rehearsing. He can keep up with the pace."

"This isn't a question of whether I can keep up or not..."

Before Fu Xi could finish speaking, Shang Xu interrupted him, saying, "I'll go talk to the senior about the list."

Both of them were looking at him at the same time.

Shang Xu remained unfazed: "If it's a problem with the actor's name, then the name doesn't need to be changed."

“Yes, yes, he can perform in my place.” Zheng Liangwen quickly agreed.

"Shut up." Fu Xi gritted her teeth and scolded Zheng Liangwen before turning her scrutinizing gaze to Shang Xu, who had a calm expression.

"Do you think this is okay?" Shang Xu asked kindly.

Fu Xi's eyes were complicated, and he didn't say the words that were on the tip of his tongue.

The purpose of this attempt to gain attention is quite obvious.

The problem is, Xu Wu doesn't care at all.

......

At 10:50, the rain gradually intensified.

The apartment door was closed and locked behind Xu Wu.

The jacket was completely soaked and was now draped in Jie Ying's arms.

Neither of them was in much better shape.

Xu Wu was alright because her clothes shielded her from some of the rain; only her arms, a few strands of hair, and the hem of her clothes got wet.

In contrast, Jie Ying's overly long hair was wet and sticky, covering her eyebrows and face. The black hair didn't show any water stains but instead appeared translucent.

Xu Wu's gaze darted around, not daring to openly look at his chest, a subtle blush creeping up her earlobe.

Is it that obvious? Look at that figure.

Like a water ghost.

Xu Wu gave him a title.

She watched as Jie Ying took out the disposable condom and placed it in front of her. Seeing that he was about to kneel down again like last time, Xu Wu quickly bent down and reached out to stop him from kneeling down: "No."

The moment I touched it, the soaked clothes made my palms wet too.

A few strands of messy, damp hair above his eyelids swayed, and then his alluring eyes lifted them, glancing at him before looking down again, his eyelashes trembling.

Xu Wu breathed a sigh of relief that they didn't have to change her shoes like last time.

While Jieying got up to find the air conditioner key in the living room, she took off her shoes and put them aside. Just as she put on her slippers, she saw a furry creature wag its tail and walk out of the bedroom. It stretched out its front paws on the ground, probably having taken a nap.

drop-

The air conditioner started heating.

"Have you named it yet?" Xu Wu walked towards the little tabby cat, but dared not get too close for fear of it running away, keeping a safe distance between them.

Surprisingly, the little tabby cat meowed happily when it saw her, and then circled around her a few times.

"Meow, meow." Jie Ying noticed Xu Wu squatting down and scratching the little tabby cat's hand. The fingertips were a healthy, pale pink with blood on them. His Adam's apple bobbed, and then he looked away.

"What did you say?" Xu Wu's attention was entirely on the cat, and she didn't hear what Jie Ying said at all.

“Mimi, that’s your name,” Jieying replied.

"...?" Xu Wu turned around, puzzled. "Your name is Mimi?"

Jie Ying nodded noncommittally, not feeling there was anything wrong with his naming method, after all, his previous kitten was named Mimi.

Surprisingly, the little tabby cat seemed to like the name quite a bit and called out to it happily twice.

Seeing this, Xu Wu ultimately refrained from uttering his complaints.

"fog."

"Um?"

"Why don't you take a shower?"

Even if you have clothes over your head to cover yourself, the result of getting wet will not change.

Xu Wu was completely unaware that the back of her neck, which she exposed, exuded a unique fragrance that filled the room.

Jie Ying awkwardly looked away, and before Xu Wu could answer, she went back to her room to get a clean set of clothes and a towel, handing them to her and pointing out the location of the bathroom in the guest room, whispering, "It's inside."

The clothes were fine, Xu Wu hesitated, but these were Jie Ying's clothes.

“New, new.” Afraid that she would overthink it, Jieying stammered, “I didn’t, I’ve never worn it.”

Xu Wu didn't say anything, took the clothes, thanked her, and added, "Do you have any smaller sizes?"

She had just glanced at the clothes Jie Ying had given her; they were a bit too big for her size, and the top alone would probably cover her upper thighs.

Jie Ying didn't react immediately: "What?"

His face was blank. Xu Wu raised an eyebrow, and that wicked thought in his heart was quietly resurfacing.

"I need to change my underwear," she said.

The next second, Jie Ying froze, her face turning completely red.

Then I realized that instead of writing an announcement, I should just issue leave slips, so I forgot about it again, hahaha (flipping fingers).
