Zhang Hongmei hadn't walked far when she heard someone calling her from behind.

Liu Aimin, Liu Maocai, Da Shan's father, and three uncles from the village were also carrying baskets.

A group of seven people went up the mountain. "Hongmei, why don't you come with us first to set up the net? We'll go explore the deeper mountains together later."

Zhang Hongmei thought about it and agreed. If they really couldn't find anyone, they could figure something out later; they couldn't go home empty-handed.

Last year's snow was heavy. This spring, it all melted, so the water level in the pond has returned to its previous level.

Since there was no boat, we could only use ropes to lower nets from both ends of the pool. Today we only brought two nets, and we finished lowering them in less than an hour.

Zhang Hongmei felt they should still cross this pine forest and go take a look over there.

"This is a great place. After autumn, we'll organize a group to come and collect pine cones. It might bring in a decent income." Da Shan's father thought this was indeed a good place, and since they'd even found wood ear mushrooms, there would surely be plenty of pine mushrooms as well.

The group of seven had only gone halfway when they encountered three wild boars coming from the opposite direction.

In Zhang Hongmei's eyes, it was like a slow-motion video. Six people, armed with machetes, attacked simultaneously with the three charging wild boars. Suddenly, Zhang Hongmei thought of the saying, "When two armies meet on a narrow path, the brave shall prevail." She chuckled.

Because this is a pine forest, and the pine trees are very dense, both sides feel somewhat restricted in their movements.

However, there were six strong men, and only Liu Aimin and Liu Maocai seemed to be struggling, but neither of them were injured.

The two half-grown ones were probably younger and had less experience in fighting. Da Shan's father stabbed them in the stomach the first time, and blood gushed out. The wild boars fell to the ground and let out a miserable howl.

One wild boar fell to the ground, but the remaining two were not intimidated; instead, they became even more ferocious.

"You two go and help take care of that one first. We'll hold this one off for now. The six of us will work together in a bit, and I refuse to believe we can't handle it." Liu Aimin said fiercely. This wild boar must weigh five or six hundred pounds. Liu Maocai and the other two could only hold it off; the chances of killing it were really slim.

The other half-grown one also fell down, and now the four of them gathered around.

The wild boar is pawing the ground with its hind hooves; it must be preparing to unleash a powerful attack.

Zhang Hongmei looked quite nervous. If she still had her stun gun, she could have taken him down in an instant, but now she could only wait and see.

Having killed two wild boars, the six men felt more confident. Plus, the pork would satisfy their cravings, which motivated them and unleashed their potential.

Liu Aimin was momentarily blocked by the book behind him when the wild boar arrived. Liu Aimin nimbly dodged to the side, and the wild boar landed directly on the book.

A pine tree as thick as a large bowl was snapped in two by a wild boar. The impact must have been quite severe; the boar was stunned, and Zhang Hongmei thought she saw stars swirling above its head.

Strike while the iron is hot. Six men simultaneously swung their machetes at the wild boar.

Zhang Hongmei closed her eyes; it was a gruesome sight. The wild boar had finally collapsed.

Our job now is to carry the wild boars out, at least to the edge of the pond.

"Uncle, I'll go back and get some help." Zhang Hongmei thought that with her thin arms and legs, she couldn't be of much help, so she might as well hurry down the mountain to get help.

"Go ahead, be careful. Have Hongxi take a few more people with her; the net is still in the pond," Liu Maocai instructed Zhang Hongmei.

Zhang Hongmei left, but the group dared not stay there any longer. Who knew what dangers might arise? Luckily, they had brought plenty of ropes.

They cut down two pine logs, and two half-grown wild boars, weighing over 300 pounds each, were carried out of the pine forest by two people. Liu Maocai and Liu Aimin stayed here to watch over the big wild boar. They would come back in a little while, and with the two of them working together, they should be able to carry the wild boar out.

Even so, the four of them were exhausted and panting. Liu Aimin and Liu Maocai had chopped down two relatively thick pine trees. They also tied up the wild boar, so the four of them would have to carry it back when it returned.
