"When did you sign the contract?!"
When Fu Sheng rushed into the office, Takeuchi Yoshiko was resting in her executive chair.
Looking exhausted, the woman slowly opened her eyes, seemingly puzzled, "What's wrong?"
"Why didn't you call me?" Fu Sheng forced a smile, barely suppressing his anger. "Such an important contract, why didn't you inform me?"
To avoid his wife's plan to have another child, Fu Sheng intended to stay away for a few days, but a phone call from his secretary brought him back.
The secretary asked him when he would be back.
Fu Sheng assumed it was Takeuchi Yoshiko urging him and didn't take it to heart.
Since he had already made the call, he also inquired about the real estate bureau's contract signing process, specifically the one involving branch offices.
To his surprise, the secretary looked completely bewildered. "The contract has already been signed! Didn't you know?"
Fu Sheng was furious. How could he, as the general manager, not know this?
"The agreement was signed by the president upon his return," the secretary stated matter-of-factly. "Is there anything else you'd like to ask?"
This question instantly stirred up Fu Sheng's sensitive emotions.
The secretary simply put him out of the running with a single sentence.
He's clearly the general manager, so why did the secretary ask, "What do you mean, 'Do you have any questions'?"
I'm the legal representative of the branch office, shouldn't they at least inform me?
Fu Sheng said gently, "There's nothing else, it's just that I need to sign that agreement, right?"
How could someone who is the legal representative of the company sign a property purchase agreement without their consent?
“No need,” the secretary said calmly. “The president can sign the agreement in the name of the head office so that they can enjoy preferential policies.”
Yes, in 1998, Haicheng vigorously attracted foreign investment, expanded employment opportunities, and boosted economic growth.
Foreign-invested enterprises can enjoy preferential tax policies when investing in the country.
Yoshiko Takeuchi's actions were perfectly reasonable.
Nobody wants to not want to save money.
Fu Sheng was still furious, so he immediately called Takeuchi Yoshiko back, demanding an explanation.
Why don't you respect my opinion? Do you even respect me as your husband?
When he called back, no one answered.
"Fine, you're not even answering the phone!"
Previously, Yoshiko Takeuchi had never done this. Even when there was a significant difference in their social status, his wife would always ask for his opinion before making a decision.
Whether or not it is used is another matter; it is a matter of respect.
Now, is there no respect left?
Of course, the most important reason is—
Using the name of a foreign-invested parent company, this commercial real estate has absolutely nothing to do with him.
All that hard work just to benefit someone else?
How can we tolerate this?
When Fu Sheng rushed back, he was met with this scene: Takeuchi Yoshiko had dark circles under her eyes, and a stack of documents was piled on the table.
"I think you're too busy," Yoshiko Takeuchi said, rubbing her temples. "So busy that you don't even have time to answer a phone call."
Are you so busy that you don't even have time to return a phone call?
Knowing he was in the wrong, Fu Sheng's arrogance subsided. "I had a few drinks and slept until now. I'm too tired from working on this project."
The implication is that it was his own achievement.
"Yes." The woman nodded. "You've really worked hard. I'll hand over the funds to the finance department for allocation, so you can take a break for a while."
Payment?
Fu Sheng grew anxious. "Isn't this a bit inappropriate?"
"It was the person I contacted who negotiated the business deal. I wasn't involved in signing the contract at all, was I—"
He glanced at the woman as he said this, "Not very polite?"
"Our country, China, is also a land of etiquette. Wouldn't it be better if I handled the final payment?"
Fu Sheng revealed his purpose.
He had originally planned to ask his wife for money under the pretext of building a company building, but he didn't expect her to be so efficient.
I knew she was capable, but I didn't expect her to be this capable—
They didn't even leave him a drop of soup.
What does this look like?!
"No need," Yoshiko Takeuchi refused outright. "Didn't you just say you were too tired lately?"
"It's because I feel sorry for you and want you to rest."
This sentence left Fu Sheng speechless, wishing he had never said it.
Having said all that, it would seem strange for him to say anything more.
"Have you eaten?" Fu Sheng changed the subject. "I'll take you out to eat, and we can go sightseeing in Haicheng while we're at it."
"You haven't explored Haicheng yet, have you?" The man, like a caring husband, took out a pair of comfortable flat shoes from the closet.
"I know you don't like wearing high heels, so I always keep some on hand."
Yoshiko Takeuchi didn't respond, but looked down at the man bending down to change her shoes, his attitude extremely attentive.
"You're so kind," the woman said softly. "You've taken such good care of me all these years."
"Hey, hey, don't say that," Fu Sheng said playfully, waving his hand. "It's not like I treated you badly before!"
"I'm putting my words here."
The man leaned down and pecked Yoshiko Takeuchi on the forehead. "Whether it's the past, present, or future."
"I, Fu Sheng, will always treat Takeuchi Yoshiko well!"
"Start making the most of your life now."
Yoshiko Takeuchi covered her mouth and chuckled, playing along with his performance.
The man moved behind her again, saying, "I can handle the branch office; there's no need to trouble you."
Yoshiko Takeuchi picked up the makeup mirror, touched up her lipstick, and said, "Hmm."
"Don't just keep busy. Your health isn't good to begin with, and you don't even eat on time. How can I be at ease?"
"Are your shoulders tired? Let me give them a massage, honey?" the man said, and began to massage and relax the woman's shoulders and neck.
Takeuchi Yoshiko paused, looking at Fu Sheng's expression behind her in the small makeup mirror in front of her.
The man's gaze was doting and tender, his eyes seemingly filled with an unyielding affection that looked straight into her heart.
