Nan Yi, a modern female bodyguard, fails a mission and travels back three hundred years to the Qing Dynasty. At that time, she became the side consort of the Fourth Prince of the Qing Dynasty, but ...
The three of them walked out of the alley and found a quiet alley to walk back.
"Tell me why you broke your promise and secretly investigated me," Nan Yi broke the silence again, glancing sideways at the two of them.
If they've already investigated Xiao Xi's family, next time it'll probably be the Fourth Master's family. Her identity probably won't be able to be hidden anymore.
"actually......"
The Eighth Prince coughed. "Hmm—it's nothing. Last time you sent back the jade, you didn't show up. I suppose you were upset. My Ninth Brother and I were worried. The weather is nice today, so we came out for a walk, hoping to find an opportunity."
He turned to the south and smiled, saying, "What a coincidence."
Nan Yi rolled her eyes, speechless. Who would believe that? It was just a coincidence that she found Xiao Xi's house. What a joke! But she didn't pursue the matter further. She was in the wrong first, and as a friend, she hadn't been honest enough.
"Oh, let's talk about how you haven't been seen for four months," Nan Yi said, changing the subject and reminding her in a deep voice that none of the three of them were home, which was making her incredibly bored.
The Ninth Prince grabbed her sleeve and quickly stepped forward with an apologetic smile, "I really forgot, and then I remembered, but I didn't know where to look for you..."
So you're saying it's her fault? Nan Yi raised an eyebrow and gritted her teeth, "Why didn't you leave a message at Huike Residence?"
As she grew angrier, her ugly face became even more ferocious, and she really wanted to call the two of them pig-headed.
The two looked at each other and smiled bitterly. If they said they had forgotten everything, Nan Yi would definitely be even angrier.
The Ninth Prince stepped forward helplessly and asked in a low voice, "Nan Yi, what do you want? Tell me."
Nan Yi glanced at them, winked, and smiled slightly.
The two men trembled slightly, secretly laughing to themselves. If a beautiful woman were to do this, it would be incredibly alluring, but Nan Yi's ugly appearance was enough to make one burst out laughing.
The Ninth Prince took out his fan and lightly tapped her forehead. "Don't do that, or I won't be able to eat lunch. Tell me, what is it?" She was really ugly.
Nan frowned, finding her unattractive. He scoffed at her, "If you think I'm unattractive, go find your beauty," and turned to leave.
The Ninth Prince was extremely frustrated; well, he had said the wrong thing again.
The Eighth Prince stood beside her, his robe brushing against her arm. Looking closely at her face, aside from her yellowish complexion, she was indeed very beautiful, possessing a captivating beauty. She had an oval face and her eyes sparkled. If the black scar were removed, her features would be even more clearly visible.
“That’s not what Ninth Brother meant. Don’t be angry. You rarely go out, don’t you want to have a good look around?” Eighth Prince coaxed Nan Yi, seizing on his weakness.
Nan Yi smiled upon hearing this, stood on tiptoe and patted his shoulder, "You're the one who knows what's going on," then complained to them in a low voice, "I miss you guys so much. I looked for you several times, but none of you were home. You're really not good friends."
The Ninth Prince walked over, stood next to her, and solemnly said, "It won't happen again."
“You said it,” Nan Yi glanced at him.
“Yes, I said it,” the Ninth Prince promised, beaming as she grabbed their arms. “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” she said, laughing as she rushed forward.
The three of them started running around the streets. When Nan returned home, she was carrying a lot of things. She walked openly to the west corner gate, knocked on the door, and claimed to be a relative of Yiren.
When Yiren came to pick her up, she was startled. Her master was too bold, and her heart almost jumped out of her chest.
When she came out after changing her clothes, the four girls stood straight in front of her, and four pairs of eyes stared at her at the same time. Nan Yi chuckled and said, "Oh, a joint trial of three people."
“Master, you’re late,” Qingyun said.
“My lord, it is a serious crime for women to leave the manor without permission,” the lover said.
“Master, you can’t eat alone. Shouldn’t we have a share?” Qingfeng said, while the two people in front glared at him.
“Master, let’s go together next time,” Yiren said, while the three of them put their hands on their hips and glared at Yiren angrily.
Nan Yi chuckled, "All the food on the table is for you. How about that? Pretty generous, right? Put the rest away."
After saying that, she took out a stack of silver notes and handed them to Yiren. She was very happy. That's right, she had robbed someone again today, and this time it was the two of them together.
Four pairs of eyes stared at the brand-new silver notes in her hand. Yiren took them and the group gathered around to count them.
"How much?" "How much?" two voices asked urgently.
Yi Ren swallowed hard. "Thirty-two thousand eight hundred and twenty taels."
"So much!" Even Nan Yi was surprised; she truly didn't know the two were so generous.
It was rare for them to see Nan Yi, and they didn't know her family's financial situation. They knew she couldn't compare to them, and they didn't know when they would see her again. That's why the three of them always carried silver notes with them.
"Master doesn't know?" the four asked in unison.
Nan shook his head, looking completely dumbfounded.
Yiren chuckled and stepped forward, fawningly massaging her shoulders. "My lady, I was so worried about you at home. I was so anxious that I even got a few more wrinkles."
Nan burst out laughing; her skin was clearly fair, rosy, and delicate.
The other three maids turned their heads away, pretending to be busy, thinking to themselves, "Who is this guy? I don't know him. He's just lying through his teeth." Nan Yi enjoyed the conversation for a while, then smiled and said, "Well, thank you for your hard work. Here's a reward of twenty taels of silver for each of you."
“You haven’t even had lunch, you’ve gotten so thin from hunger,” Yiren continued, and the others rolled their eyes.
"Add another five taels," Nan Yi said after considering for a moment. The maids looked at Yi Ren with sparkling eyes, hoping she would continue her efforts.
"Thank you, Master," Yiren stepped forward to express her gratitude, ignoring the others. She was quite satisfied with the twenty-five taels of silver; one should know when to stop.
Qingyun and Qingfeng, along with their lovers, were all smiles and stepped forward to express their gratitude. Nan waved his hand and said, "Call me again for dinner. You may go now."
"I'll put the silver notes away first," Yiren said as she went into her master's bedroom and hid the silver notes. The four maids withdrew and waited in the corridor. Yiren then took the silver notes and handed them to the maids.
“Yiren, you’re really something, you’re so bold,” the lover said.
“That’s right. But if we save a little more money, my mother won’t have to work so hard,” Qingfeng sighed.
