Su Er never thought she would have any intersection with someone like Jiang Siyan, other than perhaps a fleeting encounter.
Yet, through repeated meetings, his indulgence towards her was neve...
Jiang Siyan took a deep breath, his brows furrowing even more deeply. "Which hospital is she in now?"
He Wen said, "Peking Union Medical College Hospital."
The summit is being covered by reporters throughout, and there are at least three more days to go, so he can't leave.
Jiang Siyan pinched the bridge of his nose, his sharply defined profile echoing the gloomy weather in Jiangcheng today.
He took out his phone and dialed a number. The call was answered quickly. "Si Yan, what made you think of calling me?"
Jiang Siyan said seriously, "Old Shen, I need to trouble you to go and see someone for me at your hospital."
Although Su Er's medical records were already in front of him, he was still a little worried.
Upon hearing his tone, the person on the other end also dropped their joking manner and said, "Go on."
Jiang Siyan gave him his name and ward number. The sound of typing came from the other end of the phone, and he quickly replied, "I just looked at the medical records. If the condition doesn't worsen tomorrow, he should be able to be discharged. I'll go to the ward to check on him again in a bit."
"This is troublesome."
"Why are you being so polite with me? We're old classmates."
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Siyan instructed He Wen, "Have the lawyer in charge report directly to me on all subsequent progress."
“Okay.” He Wen glanced at the time and reminded him, “Sir, we’ll be there soon.”
Halfway through the journey, Jiang Siyan still had to go on stage to give a speech.
He had a lot to do, but he couldn't help thinking about how scared Su Er must have been when the car accident happened.
Without hesitation, he held the phone between his fingers, quickly turned on the screen, swiped down, found the number named "Er'er" in his contacts, and dialed it.
How long has it been? Half a year?
Even Jiang Siyan himself found it hard to believe that after so long, he could still clearly remember the way the little girl looked at him with her eyes crinkled and acting coquettish.
He may not be as adept at handling this relationship as he thought.
A cold female voice came through the receiver: "The number you dialed is currently busy..."
Whether he was blocked or was actually on a call, it is currently unknown.
Jiang Siyan then transferred the money to Lin Shuqin.
When Lin Shuqin received the call, she was in a video conference with the public relations department about Su Er's matter. To be honest, she wasn't surprised when she saw the caller ID.
This call is one I cannot ignore.
Lin Shuqin muted her microphone, answered the phone, and asked in surprise, "Mr. Jiang, is there something you need?"
"Where is Su Er?" Jiang Siyan asked.
"I have other artists to manage, and I won't be with her, so you..."
Before she could finish speaking, the call was abruptly cut off. Lin Shuqin gripped her phone, furious, and cursed him inwardly, "What kind of temper is this?!"
Su Er was still dizzy when she woke up in the morning, and was woken up by her cell phone ringing in the early morning.
Because of the statement released, coupled with the incredible luck of netizens who managed to bump into her, Su Er's name was trending on social media early in the morning.
First came her parents. After finally reassuring them and calming them down, Xi Wangshu called again.
Then came Xiao Shiyu, Ji Lin, Mo Qingshu... all her friends in the industry called her.
As if they had planned it all along, they kept calling her, one call after another, giving her no time to catch her breath.
Su Er endured her headache and said countless times, "I'm really fine, I don't need to come to the hospital, I'll be discharged tomorrow."
Finally realizing the seriousness of the problem, he handed his phone to Fang Li and asked her to post a message on his WeChat Moments.
The phone finally stopped ringing, and that's when Jiang Siyan called again.
The contact name in her phone was still "boyfriend," which she had happily typed out before.
She remembered that it was the day he got jealous because of Zhao Linsheng that she changed it to appease him, and she hadn't changed it since.
Su Er didn't block him, and she knew he wouldn't call again.
But at this moment...
She couldn't express the bittersweet feeling that welled up in her heart when she saw those three words.
Fang Li reminded her, "Sister Er'er, your phone is ringing, aren't you going to answer it?"
Su Er closed her phone and pulled her hand under the covers. "It wasn't an important call."
"Oh." Fang Li nodded thoughtfully, poured some warm water, and held the straw to her lips: "Sister Er'er, I'll make you some porridge later."
Fang Li was quite frightened last night, and Su Er was worried about her. "You've been here all night, so go back and rest today. Anyway, the caregiver that Sister Qin arranged will be here soon."
"It's okay, I'll wait for the caregiver to arrive before I leave. I slept really well last night, so don't worry about me, Er'er." Fang Li winked playfully at her, put the water aside, glanced at the clock, and said, "It's time for rounds, isn't it?"
As if sensing something, the door was pushed open in response.
But instead of doctors in white coats, several haggard-looking people came.
One of the men, who seemed to be in the lead, asked, "Are you Su Er?"
Fang Li looked at them warily and stood in front of Su Er, asking, "Who are you? How did you get in?"
Because it was in a hospital, and a VIP ward, it was relatively safe. Su Er didn't want to make things too special at this stage, so she didn't arrange for bodyguards.
One of them spoke up anxiously, "We are the parents of those girls from last night."
“Young lady, you’re a good child, but you can’t wrong our child like this. It was raining so hard last night, it’s possible the car skidded. How can you be so sure that she deliberately crashed into it?” The man spoke with such conviction, as if Su Er had truly wronged them.
Just as Fang Li was about to argue with them, Su Er quietly pulled her hand and gestured to her with her eyes not to act impulsively.
