The Qipao Beauty is Too Stunning, the Beijing Big Shot is Driven Mad by Her

Su Er never thought she would have any intersection with someone like Jiang Siyan, other than perhaps a fleeting encounter.

Yet, through repeated meetings, his indulgence towards her was neve...

Chapter 142 Then you don't want me anymore?

The Lunar New Year was just a few days away, and Su Er returned to Nancheng, so the matter of breaking up was put on hold.

Since that night, Su Er seems to have never been able to find an opportunity to say goodbye.

But is that really all there is to it? Su Er herself knows in her heart that she is simply longing for the time she spends with him.

I always think it would be nice to have more memories of the two of them together.

Once home, her parents naturally brought up her publicly acknowledged boyfriend.

She had only recently announced her relationship, so she couldn't very well tell her parents that they were already planning to break up.

He Yi and the others felt that she was just giving them a perfunctory answer, so she gave them a few replies that were a mix of truth and falsehood.

At first, they would just casually mention it a few times, but it was like squeezing toothpaste; every time they asked a question, Su Er would only answer one.

He Yi and his family couldn't stand the slow process any longer, so one evening, they sat down together and talked about the matter openly and frankly.

What does your boyfriend do?

Su Er lied, "I'm just... an ordinary company employee."

How did you meet?

Su Er said without batting an eye, "A friend introduced us."

"Not from Nancheng?"

"No, he's from Beicheng." That's the truth.

“It’s a bit far,” Su Boyuan said, frowning. “The key is that the person has to have good character.”

He Yi agreed, "Xiao Er, if you really like someone, bring them home to meet your parents. Don't keep things bottled up inside. Look at you, your dad and I only found out about your relationship online."

Should I bring Jiang Siyan to my door? She herself found the question utterly unrealistic and ridiculous.

Su Er didn't want her parents to notice her unusual emotions, so she declined, saying, "Mom and Dad, he and I haven't reached that point yet. We're just... dating. Maybe... we'll break up after a while."

She didn't want her parents to have too many expectations for this relationship that was destined to end in separation.

Upon hearing this, Su Boyuan was furious and told her seriously, "What kind of young girl thinks like this when she's in a relationship? If you're going to date, date properly. Don't learn those bad habits from the entertainment industry."

Su Er nodded helplessly, "I know."

...

Su Er stayed home longer than usual this Chinese New Year, not to escape anyone, but for an important matter.

Last year, Su Er couldn't stay at home for many days during the Spring Festival. This year, with the opportunity, Xi Wangshu certainly wouldn't let go of this rare chance to get together with her. Whenever he had free time, he would always get together with her.

Su Er is not very convenient to go out now, and mostly stays at Xi Wangshu's house drinking.

Sometimes Su Er would ask sourly, "Won't Yi Ping have a problem with us always drinking together like this?"

After many years of ups and downs, from her one-sided pursuit to her eventual acceptance, and then being pursued again, Xi Wangshu and Chen Yiping finally became a couple.

“What could he possibly have to say?” Xi Wangshu waved his hand, took a sip of wine, and raised an eyebrow at her mysteriously. “Xiao Er, let me tell you, I have a feeling.”

"What?"

"I think Chen Yiping is going to propose to me."

Su Er swallowed hard, her grip on the cup tightening involuntarily.

The reason she stayed in Nancheng for so long was because Chen Yiping asked her to help plan the marriage proposal.

Su Er's eyes widened, her face a mixture of surprise and ignorance. "Really?"

"I don't know either, I just have this feeling." Xi Wangshu shrugged, then looked at Su Er with suspicion as if she had thought of something. "You didn't help him fool me, did you? If he wants to recruit you as an ally, you have to tell me! I don't want to surprise him or make him proud."

Su Er secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness, the plan hadn't really been exposed. She nodded and said very seriously, "Okay!"

Xi Wangshu waved her hand and nudged her shoulder. "Don't just talk about me. What about you? How are things going with your boyfriend?"

Su Er lowered her eyes and smiled, "You're getting ready to break up, aren't you?"

"Ready?" Xi Wangshu asked.

Su Er looked up at her and said casually, "Yes, get ready. What's that poem again? 'Let's take advantage of the remaining flowers to make a smile.'"

Xi Wangshu patted her back, put his arm around her, and the two raised their glasses, looked at each other, and drank. Everything was understood without words.

Before the breakup, Su Er didn't want to wallow in sadness anymore; she just wanted to hold onto every remaining beautiful moment.

When Su Er received Jiang Siyan's call, she was preparing for Xi Wangshu's marriage proposal the next day.

The house was noisy. Su Er ran to the balcony, wrapped her coat tighter around herself, and said, "Hey."

Hearing the wind whistling on her end, Jiang Siyan asked, "Outside?"

Su Er pressed her phone tightly. "Yeah, I'm still busy. It's a bit noisy inside, so I came out to answer the phone. What's up? Is something wrong?"

It was an ordinary question, but for some reason, Jiang Siyan felt a tightness in his chest.

Since she went home, she has been contacting him less and less frequently.

Su Er glanced at her phone; the call was still connected and the signal was good. "Jiang Siyan, if there's nothing else, I'll go now..."

"No plans to come back yet?" he asked.

Going back to where? The northern part of the city?

Su Er paused for a moment, then said somewhat helplessly, "My home is here, Jiang Siyan."

"Then you don't want me?"

This sounds like a question tinged with grievance.

Su Er never imagined that such words would come from Jiang Siyan's mouth. She couldn't tell how much of his words were true and how much were false, but she stopped worrying about it and just took it as a touching love confession. "The day after tomorrow, I'll be going back to Beicheng the day after tomorrow."
