Su Wan is the true daughter of the Su family. After drifting outside for eighteen years, she was finally brought back to the Su family. She originally thought she would be doted on, but unexpectedl...
Qin Yi's appearance surprised everyone.
No one expected Qin Yi to come at this time.
Qin Yi walked over, took Su Wan's hand, and whispered to her, "Let's go home."
Qin Yi pulled Su Wan and turned to leave. After a few steps, Su Wan turned back and looked at Han Hongmei, her tone completely calm.
Do you know why your son is acting so recklessly?
"Because you are selfish."
"The reason your daughter has impure thoughts is because you yourself cannot tolerate others."
"Stop being hypocritical in front of me. You don't care about me, and I don't care about you either."
“You feel you have feelings for Su Qing because you raised her for over ten years, yet you target me in everything and let them bully me, but you dare not admit it.”
"You're just feeling guilty!"
"Because of your carelessness, you didn't even know your own daughter had been switched with someone else?"
"No parent who truly loves their child is like that!"
Su Chengde blushed deeply at Su Wan's words.
Han Hongmei pointed at her with trembling fingers, furious: "You, I just don't want to see you! Get out! Get out!"
An expected answer.
Su Wan pulled Qin Yi along and turned to leave without looking back.
Su Chengde was so angry at Han Hongmei's womanly views that he wanted to strangle her.
You're so clueless!
That's so illogical.
He now realizes that he was terribly wrong before.
As the head of the family, how could his home have become like this?
He bears an unshirkable responsibility.
The son developed a distorted relationship with his adopted sister, and even considered killing his biological sister for her sake.
Both of these are slaps in the face to him.
That could make him lose face, and might even ruin the Su family.
He gave Han Hongmei a deep look, then turned to chase after Su Wan and Qin Yi.
Originally, such an unbearable side would have been tolerated in one's own home.
But now Qin Yi has seen it.
The son-in-law will no longer have a good impression of his own family.
He caught up with the two of them and said hesitantly, "Wanwan, your mother, you, you shouldn't take it to heart."
Su Wan smiled self-deprecatingly: "Dad, I don't have the ability to choose my parents, but I do have the ability to be myself."
Su Chengde looked at Qin Yi with pleading eyes.
Qin Yi remained calm and composed, showing no intention of responding.
Su Chengde lowered his eyes somewhat dejectedly, looking both regretful and self-reproachful: "Wanwan, it was Dad's fault."
Su Wan remained noncommittal.
What was wrong with what Su Chengde said?
She didn't really want to know.
All the Su family brought her was harm.
Su Wan looked down, her eyes slightly red: "Dad, you should deal with the family matters first."
She glanced at Su Chengde and said, "If my brother had strangled me today, Mom would only say that it was an accident. In her heart, I am a dispensable daughter."
"My relationship with her as her mother ends here."
Su Wan's expression was both mournful and resolute.
In fact, even today, whether she is willing to change or not, it is unlikely that her mother-daughter relationship with Han Hongmei will progress any further.
Han Hongmei had initially suspected that Su Wan had hurt Su Qing, but now that Su Shikun had been injured by Su Wan, given her personality, she would not forgive Su Wan.
She blamed Su Wan for all the injuries to her two children.
She would think bitterly, why wasn't Su Wan the one who got hurt?
Su Chengde noticed Su Wan's sadness and patted Qin Yi on the shoulder: "Xiao Qin, spend more time with Wanwan, she's been wronged."
Qin Yi nodded: "Don't worry, Dad, I will."
Qin Yi said goodbye to Su Chengde and pulled Su into the car.
Neither of them spoke a word the entire way, and the air in the car was unusually quiet.
Qin Yi knew that Su Wan was feeling uncomfortable.
From their fragmented conversation, he roughly learned that Su Shikun wanted to strangle Su Wan.
If Su Wan hadn't reacted quickly, the consequences would be unimaginable now.
Su Shikun...
He couldn't believe that his own mother was scolding her daughter when he heard Han Hongmei's harsh words.
At this point, trying to persuade her would be counterproductive.
Stay by her side and let her know that you're always there for her.
The car came to a smooth stop at the door. Looking at the handprint on Su Wan's neck, Qin Yi placed Su Wan's hand in his own and solemnly said, "Wanwan, whatever you want to do, I will support you."
Su Wan looked at Qin Yi's serious face and felt a warm current flow through her heart. She then grasped Qin Yi's hand in return.
"I'm fine."
That night, Qin Yi looked at Su Wan beside him.
She must have had a very difficult time over the years to develop such a resilient character.
Su Wan didn't sleep well and kept having dreams. In her dreams, her adoptive mother had a fierce look on her face, whipping her while cursing her as a good-for-nothing who did nothing.
"You little bitch, what's the point of you living? Why don't you just die!"
Her foster mother whipped her until her skin was torn and bleeding. At such a young age, she was terrified.
He pleaded desperately with his adoptive mother, but the woman remained unmoved.
As she lashed out with the whip again, Su Wan suddenly stood up.
When Su Wan opened her eyes, she realized she was in bed; she had just been dreaming.
The dream felt so real; she could even feel the pain of being whipped.
There were still tear stains at the corners of her eyes.
Qin Yi was startled awake by her movements. He sat up and wiped away the thin layer of sweat and tears from her face.
Su Wan was breathing rapidly, clearly having had a bad dream, and looked like a frightened deer.
"Were you dreaming?"
"Mmm." Su Wan's voice had a heavy nasal tone.
Qin Yi's heart tightened, and he gently embraced her, softly comforting her.
"It's alright now."
