The Real Daughter Quits Her Family to Join the Army: The Cold-Blooded Big Shot Spoils Her Daily

Su Wan is the true daughter of the Su family. After drifting outside for eighteen years, she was finally brought back to the Su family. She originally thought she would be doted on, but unexpectedl...

Chapter 70 Resentment

Su Wan subconsciously glanced back at Leng Qingshan, thinking to herself how unlucky it was that Qin Yi had just left in the morning, and she was treating Leng Qingshan to lunch.

It seemed as if they deliberately chose the time.

How is she going to explain what happened today?

Su Wan rubbed her forehead, feeling a bit of a headache.

Leng Qingshan, puzzled, assumed she was feeling unwell and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"

Su Wan shook her head and turned to look at Jiang Baiyuan with a smile.

"Bai Yuan, didn't you go on the business trip with Qin Yi?"

Leng Qingshan also saw Jiang Baiyuan sitting on the other side. He had seen Jiang Baiyuan before, and nodded to him.

Jiang Baiyuan wasn't surprised to meet Su Wan, but he was quite surprised to see Su Wan having dinner with another man.

He really didn't mean it.

Jiang Baiyuan stood up and greeted Su Wan politely, "Sister-in-law, I had other things to do, so I didn't go with them."

The "they" that Jiang Baiyuan was referring to were Lin Changchun who went with Qin Yi.

Jiang Baiyuan changed the subject: "Sister-in-law, what's this?"

I asked anyway.

Su Wan pointed to Leng Qingshan and introduced him: "This is my classmate Leng Qingshan. You've met him before. He just got back from a business trip today. He's the one who helped find Liu Shuang."

"I specially invited him to dinner to express my gratitude."

Leng Qingshan extended his hand to Jiang Baiyuan: "Hello."

Jiang Baiyuan reached out and replied with a "okay".

Leng Qingshan enthusiastically pointed to the seats next to him: "Let's go together."

Jiang Baiyuan readily agreed: "Okay."

The dinner party that was originally for two people turned into a dinner for three. Jiang Baiyuan, who was usually quiet, chatted very congenially with Leng Qingshan.

Su Wan ate her meal silently, like an outsider.

After they had almost finished eating, Jiang Baiyuan got up to pay the bill, but Leng Qingshan insisted on paying first.

The two men made full use of the fine tradition of settling accounts.

"It's settled then, I'll do it."

"No, no, no, I'll do it, I'll do it."

The two were having a great time, and Su Wan quietly got up to pay the bill.

After Su Wan paid the bill, the two of them continued to play mind games, each trying to outdo the other.

Su Wan coughed and said, "Alright, payment is complete."

The two laughed awkwardly, and Jiang Baiyuan said with great enthusiasm, "Sister-in-law, this is not good. If Lao Qin finds out, he will definitely criticize me."

Su Wan thought to herself, "I know you too well."

Su Wan saw through Jiang Baiyuan's plan perfectly. His insistence on paying the bill with Leng Qingshan showed that he realized there was really nothing between Su Wan and Leng Qingshan.

Su Wan invited Leng Qingshan to dinner simply to thank him for his help.

Making Su Wan pay the money shows that he won't bring this up in front of Qin Yi.

After all, Qin Yi is such a jealous person. If he knew that his wife had lunch with Leng Qingshan right after he left in the morning, he would be very jealous.

That vinegar jar must be overturned.

As the group walked out of the restaurant, Jiang Baiyuan greeted Su Wan.

"Sister-in-law, I'll be going now."

Su Wan nodded in agreement.

After Jiang Baiyuan got into the car and drove away, Leng Qingshan looked down at Su Wan and asked hesitantly, "Su Wan, will this cause you any trouble?"

Su Wan wanted to say that she might, but looking into Leng Qingshan's sincere eyes, she swallowed her words back.

I comforted him, saying, "It's okay, my husband isn't someone who gets angry easily."

Leng Qingshan smiled in relief: "If needed, I'll explain to your husband."

This is a bit of a cover-up. There was nothing wrong, but the insistence on explaining only makes people suspicious.

It will only make things worse.

Su Wan shook her head: "No need."

"Liu Shuang hasn't eaten yet, so I'll head back now. Thank you, Qingshan."

Su Wan meant it sincerely when she said that.

Su Wan was genuinely grateful to Leng Qingshan; she could tell that Leng Qingshan was a very good person.

After saying that, Su Wan turned to leave, but Leng Qingshan stepped forward and called out to her, "Su Wan, wait a moment."

Su Wan stopped and looked at him with a puzzled expression.

Leng Qingshan scratched his head sheepishly: "Well, well, I brought gifts for you and Liu Shuang. Please don't mind them."

Leng Qingshan took out a pearl necklace from his small handbag, but Su Wan waved her hand and said, "No, this is too expensive. You should keep it."

When Leng Qingshan saw that Su Wan didn't want to go, he immediately became anxious.

In a moment of urgency, he reached out and grabbed Su Wan's arm: "Su Wan, you keep it."

After saying that, he stuffed her into Su Wan's arms, afraid that she would refuse, and hurriedly left.

"Ah, Qingshan..."

The more Su Wan urged him, the faster he walked.

Watching Leng Qingshan's retreating figure, Su Wan looked down at the necklace on her hand, sighed slightly, and walked away with it in her hand.

Su Wan dislikes owing favors, and even more so, she dislikes owing favors like this.

He pondered how to return the favor.

When Liu Shuang, who was guarding the stall, saw Su Wan return, he jumped up and took the food from her hands.

"Sister Su Wan, someone was looking for you just now."

"who?"

He didn't know him and said he would come another day.

Su Wan thought for a long time but couldn't figure out who would come looking for her.

To her surprise, Han Hongmei came looking for her while she was busy.

She looked at Su Wan, "Wanwan."

Su Wan was startled when she saw Han Hongmei's haggard appearance.

Han Hongmei now looks ten years older, a far cry from her previous radiant appearance.

Not only was he in extremely poor condition, but he had also lost a lot of weight.

Previously, Han Hongmei took good care of herself, and although she was fifty years old, she looked like she was only in her early forties, appearing much younger than her peers.

Now, when people say Han Hongmei is sixty, no one argues.

It seems that for middle-aged people, the problems with their children are indeed a fatal blow.

Although reluctant, I still stepped forward and asked, "Why have you come?"

Liu Shuang looked at the two women and noticed that Su Wan and Han Hongmei looked about five-tenths similar. She was certain that the two were probably mother and daughter, so she quickly got up and invited them in: "Auntie, please sit down."
