Chapter 93 Drunkenness

Wang Cuihong smiled and said, "Thank you for the expense, boss."

Su Wan smiled and said, "Alcohol really does make people addicted."

People with worries often experience a surge of negative emotions under the influence of alcohol, allowing them to immerse themselves in these emotions and let go of their pain.

Whether it was Su Wan's fault or not, she felt that Wang Cuihong was somewhat sad tonight, but she kept her emotions to herself, unlike Liu Shuang who was crying loudly. Wang Cuihong was forcing a smile.

Su Wan sighed and got up to pay the bill.

The two helped Liu Shuang into the car, where she was still crying and accusing Lin Changchun of being blind.

Wang Cuihong gently coaxed her, "Yes, yes, Lin Changchun is blind!"

"No, you're not allowed to say anything bad about Lin Changchun."

Su Wan and Wang Cuihong exchanged a glance and couldn't help but chuckle. This girl's alcohol tolerance was worrisome, and her behavior while drunk was equally worrisome.

When she sobers up tomorrow and finds out what she did tonight, I wonder if this girl will be too ashamed to face anyone.

Su Wan decided to take Liu Shuang first. Liu Shuang cried herself to sleep and lay on the back seat without saying a word. After a long silence, Wang Cuihong broke the silence first.

"Wanwan, do you believe in true love in this world?"

Su Wan was taken aback. She glanced at Wang Cuihong in the rearview mirror and saw that she was staring blankly out the window, seemingly lost in thought.

Su Wan gripped the steering wheel, looked ahead, and said calmly, "If you believe it's true love, then it is; if you don't believe it, then it isn't."

Wang Cuihong looked blank, as if she hadn't reacted for a moment. After a few seconds of hesitation, she suddenly couldn't help but chuckle, and then tears streamed down her face as she laughed: "Yes, you're right."

She rolled down the car window and yelled back, "To hell with it!"

After venting her anger, Wang Cuihong looked at Su Wan with some admiration: "Wanwan, thank you!"

Su Wan spoke softly, knowing that she was upset: "I didn't do anything."

“You woke me up. You have no idea how depressed I was. Don’t be fooled by my seemingly indifferent attitude. Only I know how useless I am…” Wang Cuihong started talking.

Su Wan: "That's life. Think positively. As long as you're alive, there's always a chance to come back to life!"

Both being intelligent people, the two exchanged a smile. Su Wan suggested that Wang Cuihong help her see if anyone was selling a house and keep an eye out for her. Wang Cuihong readily agreed.

Wang Cuihong's life was not happy from childhood. At the age of sixteen, she left home to work. She was hardworking and willing to do any dirty or tiring job.

But three months ago, Wang Cuihong returned without a word, rented a house near Liu Shuang's house, and didn't go home.

That's how I gradually got to know Liu Shuang.

Wang Cuihong didn't say anything specific, and Su Wan didn't ask. After dropping them off at home, Su Wan turned around and left.

It was completely dark by then. She was late and hadn't told Qin Yi beforehand.

There were hardly any people on the road at night. It was Su Wan's first time driving at night, so she couldn't help but feel a little nervous and focused all her attention on what was ahead.

As the car drove along a small road three miles from home, Su Wan saw what looked like a person lying on the road ahead.

She was extremely nervous. How could there be anyone on the road at this hour?

She took several deep breaths to calm herself down and focused intently on the road ahead. She wondered if it was just her imagination, but she thought she saw the person move slightly. Su Wan looked around and saw that she was the only car in the area, with no one else around.

The person slowly sat up. Perhaps sensing the car, the other person looked in her direction. The next second, as if blinded by the car lights, they scrambled to the side of the road, seemingly making way for her.

Su Wan was horrified.

That person was actually Cui Zhengming!

Ignoring her fear, Su Wan parked the car not far from Cui Zhengming, quickly opened the door, got out, closed the door, and rushed to Cui Zhengming's side. Smelling the strong smell of alcohol on him, Su Wan helped him up: "Mr. Cui, what's wrong?"

Cui Zhengming glanced wearily at Su Wan, a glimmer of clarity appearing in his eyes, and smiled: "It's you, Su Wan."

Su Wan breathed a sigh of relief, thankfully she was just drunk: "Come on, let me help you into the car."

Cui Zhengming chuckled excitedly, "Get in the car, let's keep drinking until we're drunk!"

Su Wan wanted to say that you are already drunk.

She was so drunk she couldn't even walk. At the same time, she was also puzzled. Although Cui Zhengming seemed unreliable, he was a very self-disciplined person. How could he be so drunk, and alone?

Seeing that she couldn't get anything out of him by asking, Su Wan half-coaxed and half-persuaded Cui Zhengming into getting into the car. She decided to take Cui Zhengming home first, since she and Qin Yi should thank him properly.

Besides, Grandma Qin had mentioned many times that she wanted to go see Cui Zhengming.

As Su Wan drove closer to home, she saw a tall figure standing at the door in the distance.

Seeing Su Wan's car return, Qin Yi threw down the cigarette in his hand.

As soon as Su Wan's car came to a stop, Qin Yi opened the car door for her: "Why are you back so late?" His tone was filled with barely suppressed worry, then he looked at Su Wan in surprise: "Have you been drinking?"

"No, it's Mr. Cui who's drunk and came to help me out."

Qin Yi helped Cui Zhengming out of the back seat and practically carried him home. Su Wan briefly explained to him why she was late and what happened on the way home when she met Cui Zhengming.

“I think something might have happened to Mr. Cui. Given his personality, he wouldn’t do something like this so easily.”

Qin Yi nodded in agreement and led Cui Zhengming directly to the guest room.

Grandma Qin came over when she heard the commotion and exclaimed in surprise, "Oh dear, what's going on?"

"He's drunk. I'll go make him some hangover soup." Qin Yi said, then got up and went to the kitchen. Grandma Qin looked at Su Wan and said, "Wanwan, you go and rest. I'll watch over Zhengming."
