The metaphysics expert transmigrates one day and surprisingly becomes the real young miss who is not doted on by her father or loved by her mother.
How can she indulge their bad habits?
Rong Chengxuan glanced at the items on the list. They were all common items, so finding them wasn't too difficult. However, Yun Wanwan was confused about the quantities she wanted. "I'll try to get them all on the list tonight. If they don't have them, you can just make do with what you have. I'll have them stock up tomorrow."
"Um."
…
From the second day on, Yun Wanwan had been confined to the laboratory she had asked A Kui to temporarily set up, researching how to quickly mass-produce gunpowder and bombs. By the tenth day agreed upon with Rong Chengxuan, Yun Wanwan had already prepared the quantities of gunpowder and bombs needed for deployment on the battlefield, and even prepared more for teaching purposes.
From the moment Yun Wanwan entered the laboratory, A Kui had been guarding the door of the laboratory so that Yun Wanwan could call her if she needed anything.
When Yun Wanwan came out of the room, she was distracted and almost tripped over the threshold. Fortunately, A Kui quickly caught her, preventing Yun Wanwan from having such a close contact with the earth.
Yun Wanwan was so exhausted at this point that even looking at Ah Kui with such intensity she saw double. She knew that in her current state, it would be impossible for her to walk back on her own, so she quickly called out to Ah Kui, "Hurry! Help me get back and rest! I'm afraid if this continues, I'll just die."
Ah Kui followed Yun Wanwan's instructions and helped Yun Wanwan back to the yard as quickly as possible. Yun Wanwan fell asleep as soon as she touched the bed. She didn't open her eyes until she slept for a whole day and night, completely making up for the sleep she had lost in the past ten days.
When Yun Wanwan awoke, she was first struck by a sweet aroma. It was so tantalizing that it jolted her from a deep sleep. The first thing she did upon waking was to examine herself. Her body was clean, and her clothes were neat and tidy; it was obvious someone had changed her clothes.
During the ten days she locked herself in the laboratory, she didn't have any extra time to take a shower. Even when she slept, she only dozed off on the table for a short while before waking up.
In the first few days, Yun Wanwan still felt disgusted by her own stinky appearance, but after a while, she got used to the smell and felt that it was no big deal, just that her body was a little dirty.
Judging from the marks on her body, Rong Chengxuan must have returned to his room and found a dirty person lying on his bed. He couldn't bear it anymore, so he quickly asked A Kui to fetch water and took a bath for himself and changed into clean clothes.
After looking at herself, Yun Wanwan raised her head and looked around. To her surprise, Rong Chengxuan didn't go to bed, but was sitting beside the bed. The fragrant breeze she had just woken up to smell was from the warm food on the table.
The curtains fluttered in the wind, carrying the aroma of food to Yun Wanwan's nose. Rong Chengxuan, beside the bed, had his eyelids lightly closed, his brows slightly furrowed, looking tired yet gentle. Yun Wanwan moved her fingers and realized that her hand was being held by Rong Chengxuan, his palm covering the back of her hand.
Judging from the sky outside, it should be late at night. Yun Wanwan felt that she was not good at it and guessed that she had slept day and night reversed all day. Then she looked at Rong Chengxuan's face, and he didn't look like he had just returned. Had he been staying by her side the whole time?
Rong Chengxuan was not actually asleep. He was just sitting there with his eyes closed. When the person on the bed made a little movement, he opened his eyes.
Rong Chengxuan propped himself up from the bed, leaned against the headboard and asked her, "Did you get enough sleep?"
"I'm still sleepy." Yun Wanwan shook her head, pulled her hand out from under Rong Chengxuan's palm, and buried her face in the quilt, leaving only her eyes exposed. A childish smile appeared under the quilt. "But I haven't slept this long in a long time. If I weren't hungry, I think I could sleep longer."
Rong Chengxuan smiled faintly, his eyes a little tired, as if he hadn't had enough rest in the past few days. His fingers touched Yun Wanwan's cheek, carefully and gently, as if he was afraid that if he used a little more force, he would crush Yun Wanwan directly.
After stroking Yun Wanwan for a while, when she felt like she was suffocating, Rong Chengxuan finally let go and stood up. "If you're still sleepy, you can sleep a little longer. If you're not, I'll bring in some warm food to fill your stomach. Ah Kui said you didn't eat properly for the past ten days. You can't do that. If you ruin your health, I'll be the one feeling the pain."
Yun Wanwan finally emerged from under the covers and pushed herself up from the bed. However, having been lying there for too long, she nearly fell back down. Fortunately, Rong Chengxuan caught her in time. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Yun Wanwan shook her head. "It's just that I haven't had a good meal in a while, so I have low blood sugar."
Hearing Yun Wanwan say that she had hypoglycemia, Rong Chengxuan immediately went to the outer room and brought in the still warm food. It was the porridge that A Kui had prepared in advance. Because Yun Wanwan had not eaten properly for so many days, eating anything greasy would be a burden on her stomach, so A Kui prepared some light food.
When Yun Wanwan saw that Rong Chengxuan was holding a bowl of white porridge, the smile on her face immediately faded. She curled her lips, obviously not very satisfied with the bowl of white porridge, "Why is it just a bowl of white porridge?"
Rong Chengxuan sat down on the bed again, stirred the porridge in his hand, and explained to Yun Wanwan: "This is not white porridge. A Kui put sugar in it when she cooked it. It is sweet. Try it?" As he said that, Rong Chengxuan scooped a spoonful of it and fed it to Yun Wanwan.
Yun Wanwan looked at the bowl of porridge that made her lose her appetite, then looked at her starving stomach. In the end, she chose to face reality obediently. The porridge with sugar was at least flavorful. This was the only way Yun Wanwan could comfort herself.
Yun Wanwan, though disdainful of the bowl of porridge, remained true to her word and quickly finished it. After finishing her meal, she waited for Rong Chengxuan to return the bowl to the kitchen. She patted the seat beside her that she had made for him and said, "Come and sleep! I'll be checking out the apprentices you found for me this morning."
Rong Chengxuan got on the bed with his clothes on and held Yun Wanwan in his arms. Only then did he feel at ease and fell asleep quickly.
The next day, Yun Wanwan woke up earlier than Rong Chengxuan, a rare occurrence. However, she also noticed that Rong Chengxuan's sleep was indeed very light. Just like last night, Yun Wanwan only moved slightly, and Rong Chengxuan opened his eyes and woke up.
