Chapter 170 The Secret of Penglai Island 1

Xiaoman's parents both have jobs, and Xiaoman went to Feiyang Elementary School. She saw those children again, and they turned out to be her classmates.

They always huddled together, laughing and whispering, not wearing their shoes properly; one child was even wearing only a flip-flop.

"They're so slovenly," Xiaoman thought to herself.

Unlike big cities, the island doesn't have large shopping malls; instead, there are small shops along the streets, where the aunties and uncles chatting or playing cards at the entrances.

Xiaoman walked away quickly. She felt that this place was extremely backward, unlike the bright and new shopping malls in the city.

When she got home, her parents weren't home, so they told her to go downstairs to the restaurant and eat something by herself.

She was wearing sparkly sandals, kicking small stones as she walked along the roadside.

Suddenly, Xiaoman looked at the group of children again, and they actually ran into an abandoned lighthouse.

Xiaoman pouted. There was no amusement park here, so these children could only play in the abandoned lighthouse. It was so pitiful.

Standing by the roadside looking out to sea, as her gaze swept across the emerald-green water, she suddenly spotted some silvery creatures darting through the waves.

Xiaoman rubbed her eyes, thinking she must have seen wrong, but then again, she wasn't. She thought to herself, she'll sneak closer to the beach for one last look, just for a moment.

Xiaoman's parents had told her not to go near the beach when no adults were around, but Xiaoman was too curious about the silver creature, so she slowly approached the beach.

Just as the seawater was about to reach Xiaoman's ankles, the group of children appeared from behind her.

"What are you doing! Come back here!"

But as Xiaoman was preparing to go back, she saw that silvery glint in the waves again.

The group of children rushed over, shouting, "It's a baby dolphin! Big Head, get the scissors!"

Xiaoman was furious; they actually wanted to kill the baby dolphin!

She rolled up her sleeves, pushed through the crowd, and opened her arms wide, shouting, "You mustn't hurt the baby dolphin!"

Ah Hai, the leader of the children, paused for a moment, then said angrily, "Get out of here!"

Xiaoman was angry when she was pushed away, but she still stood up and tried to stop them.

When she got closer, she discovered that there were actually two dolphins, one big and one small. The smaller dolphin was making soft moaning sounds, and there was fishing line wrapped around its body.

Xiaoman saw the children cut the fishing line and then smear some sticky stuff on the baby dolphin.

Xiaoman muttered, "Your hands aren't clean, that's unhygienic. My mom is a doctor, and she said that unclean hands can cause wounds to become infected."

The other children looked at her, and the last child to apply the medicine washed his hands before reapplying the medicine to the little dolphin.

After the little dolphin left, the children laughed and played as they walked back. Xiaoman looked at them and felt a little embarrassed for misunderstanding them earlier.
