Chapter 163 Meeting an Old Friend in a Foreign Land

Zuo Ling chewed on a dry grass twig and said slowly, "I said earthquake clouds, but I didn't say there would definitely be an earthquake."

Xiao Hao pouted, accusing his sister of teasing him: "Sister, you can't be that scary."

Pei Nansheng turned around and looked in the direction they had come from, exclaiming in surprise, "Oh no, the water dragon is coming after us!"

Zuo Ling jolted awake and stood up with a swift, sweeping motion.

After looking around for a while, all I could see were mountains, nothing but mountains, where did the water dragon come from!

Pei Nansheng laughed loudly, "Who told you to play us?"

Xiao Hao realized what was happening and burst into laughter.

The two little ones didn't understand what was happening; one barked and the other whimpered.

The three humans and two animals played around for half a day, which helped alleviate some of the depression caused by their near-death experience and the loss of their home.

Pei Nansheng inspected the plane. The impact was quite strong, but fortunately, the damage wasn't serious. He refueled the plane and stored it in his spatial storage.

Everyone was tired, so they took out the container houses and went to rest early.

Fearing something might go wrong, Zuo Ling stayed on guard for the first half of the night, while Pei Nansheng stayed on guard for the second half.

Xiao Hao was dissatisfied: "What about me? What about me?"

Snowy Night: Woof woof woof, what about me?

When it comes to mentally and physically demanding tasks, waterfalls tend to play dead.

Pei Nansheng's approach to educating Xiao Hao was essentially forcing him to grow too fast; it's better for him to take on some responsibilities early on.

So she said, "Xiao Hao will stay up with his sister for the first half of the night."

"Great, great!" Xiao Hao clapped his hands happily.

Snowy Night wagged its tail in front of Xiao Hao and stroked the dog's head: "Let's keep watch for the first half of the night with our sister."

Woof, woof, woof!

Nothing happened overnight, and the sky was clear and bright.

Kyoto fell, leaving no trace, like watching a disaster movie in a theater, with nothing left behind.

Zuo Ling told Pei Nansheng to go back to sleep while she went for a walk around the neighborhood.

Pei Nansheng said, "Natural disasters are unpredictable. If we're going, let's go together."

Zuo Ling is the most important person in the family. If it weren't for Zuo Ling, he wouldn't have been able to protect himself in yesterday's situation, let alone save his younger brother. How could he have protected his brother?

He was terrified, but dared not let his younger siblings see it.

Because he is the elder brother!

Release the doomsday chariot, and the family of five climbs mountains and wade through rivers, finding no flat land in sight.

Pei Nansheng kept exclaiming, "Spending 100 million was really worth it!"

After wandering around for two days, I occasionally encountered a few thin, haggard villagers searching for food in the mountains.

Seeing the massive doomsday chariot from afar, they were terrified and quickly hid away, making it impossible for Pei Nansheng to find anyone to ask for directions.

Fortunately, since we were just wandering around, there was nothing to rush. We strolled and wandered at our own pace.

It's a pity that the mountain is barren and there's really nothing to see.

When we get tired, we'll stop and rest for a few days.

One day, I came to a place halfway up a mountain, and several crooked wooden houses came into view.

This is the first time I've seen a house in days.

Before they could get close, a group of about twenty people, carrying various weapons, stared at them warily.

The three people and two animals, though dressed simply, had such good spirits that they clearly had plenty of food and clothing.

The villagers' eyes gleamed with a blue light as they stared at the snowy night and the waterfall.

A little boy, a few years old, whispered to the adult next to him, "Big dog, meat, meat, I want to eat meat."

The little girl tugged at her brother's sleeve: "Brother, there's still rabbit meat."

They were talking quite loudly, which made Xiao Hao roll his eyes at them in annoyance.

With one hand stroking the dog's head and the other gripping the gun handle, I'll kill anyone who dares to touch my two little ones!

An old man in his sixties, so thin he was almost unrecognizable, looked like a village chief based on the way the villagers treated him.

Pei Nansheng raised his hand from a distance, "Fellow villager, we mean no harm, we just want to ask for directions."

Asking for directions? The old man's wariness hadn't lessened at all as he reached out his hand to Pei Nansheng.

Ah, asking for directions! Pei Nansheng immediately understood, took out a compressed biscuit he had prepared beforehand, and handed it over.

The old man's eyesight was poor, so he rubbed his hands together and brought them closer to his eyes to examine them carefully.

Pei Nansheng said:

"Grandpa, those are compressed biscuits. An adult can eat one biscuit per meal and drink some water, and that will fill them up."

Compressed biscuits? The old man seemed to be hearing the term for the first time, looking at the young man beside him with a puzzled expression.

Young people have heard of compressed biscuits, but have never seen them.

"You think eating this little bit will fill you up?" His eyes clearly showed disbelief.

The old man reached out to Pei Nansheng again, and Pei Nansheng kindly handed him another piece, emphasizing:

"Old man, you can't eat too many compressed biscuits. One biscuit per person per meal is enough. Eating too many can kill you."

Such a small amount of food, can it kill someone? That's nonsense! And they're still trying to reach for Pei Nansheng.

Pei Nansheng's face darkened, and he was about to take back the compressed biscuits. He could tolerate them once, but he could not indulge their greed.

"Eh."

Seeing that he couldn't produce anything, the old man looked embarrassed.

The more Zuo Ling looked at these people, the more familiar they seemed. She narrowed her eyes, spotted one of them, and finally remembered who they were.

While the villagers' attention was focused on the compressed biscuits, Zuo Ling quietly put on sunglasses and a mask.

What do you want to ask?

"Where is this? We're lost."

"Where is this?" the old man repeated, his face contorted with pain. After a moment's thought, he replied, "Natural disasters are frequent, and mountains and rivers have changed course. I don't know where this is."

He sighed and said, "We fled here, so we should still be in Jinzhou."

"Thank you, sir."

Having received the answer, Pei Nansheng turned and left.

The old man raised his hand, trying to call out to Pei Nansheng, but his hand fell down halfway.

Zuo Lingyang said, "Old folks, head northwest. The government has built a shelter there."
