Xia Lan smiled confidently, looked at the men, and chuckled.

"You're exaggerating a bit. A woman like you dares to come here and show off?"

The men exchanged smiles, their gazes toward Xia Lan filled with disdain.

"Since none of the older men wanted me, I volunteered. I hope Director Chen won't mind that I'm a woman."

Xia Lan's words startled Chen Qing, who quickly got up to cooperate.

"Of course! We would never discriminate against lesbians. Women hold up half the sky!"

Chen Qing looked at the men behind Xia Lan. The men were surprised that Chen Qing actually took it seriously and glanced at Xia Lan and Chen Qing.

"Hmph, what a waste of my time."

"People would laugh themselves to death if they heard this!"

"Come on, guys, let's go to my place for some tea."

The men glanced coldly at Chen Qing; he had actually taken Xia Lan's information.

He snorted and walked away.

Xia Lan nodded.

"Then I'll be going now."

Chen Qing got up and personally escorted Xia Lan to the door. After watching Xia Lan leave, Chen Qing couldn't wait to return to his office to look at Xia Lan's plan.

After reading it, Chen Qing took a deep breath, picked up the phone on the table, and dialed the number.

"Teacher, I met someone who is very special. I have some questions I'd like to ask you."

"Is there anyone else who makes you feel special? Tell me."

The person opposite smiled, seemingly nonchalant, but their words carried a sharp edge.

After hanging up on Chen Qing, the teacher immediately picked up the phone again.

Soon, Xiao Guoqiang received the news that Xia Lan had actually become the takeover of a department store in a small county town.

"Why would this girl leave the capital and go there instead?"

Xiao Guoqiang hung up the phone and rubbed his temples.
