He stared at Xia Lan, opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

Xia Lan also noticed the old man's problem. She leaned over to take a look and discovered that the old man had no tongue. Xia Lan paused.

"You want to ask about the old lady?"

Xia Lan looked at the old man and asked softly.

The old man blinked.

Xia Lan was taken aback.

"The old lady is sick and has a fever, so I took her to the hospital!"

Xia Lan slowly spoke to the old man and recounted the whole story.

Xia Lan found the kitchen, where the water in the pot had boiled to the bottom, indicating that the old lady must have been boiling water earlier.

Fortunately, it was made of coal briquettes. Xia Lan clumsily lit a fire, boiled a pot of water, and poured it into a thermos.

Looking at the traces in the kitchen, it seemed that the old lady made porridge every day, as there were many grains of rice on the floor.

Xia Lan washed the rice and cooked it into porridge.

Xia Lan recounted the whole story to Qin Yu, who was taken aback and then pulled Xia Lan to the old man's side.

Qin Yu raised an eyebrow, glanced at the old man, and whispered to Xia Lan.

"Wait for me outside for a moment."

Xia Lan was taken aback. Although she was puzzled, she still went out.

After a while, Qin Yu came out carrying a bunch of things, and Xia Lan looked at Qin Yu in surprise.

"Brother Yu..."

"Could you prepare the porridge for me first?"

Xia Lan pointed guiltily to the kitchen, and Qin Yu followed her there, where he saw porridge simmering over a low flame.

Qin Yu immediately got to work, searching around and finding eggs and some greens in the cupboard. He cracked an egg into a bowl and whisked it, then poured the egg mixture into the simmering porridge. Next, he found some greens, chopped them up, and added them in as well…

Finally, sprinkle on the seasonings, and the aroma instantly fills your nose.

"It smells so good."

Xia Lan nodded in satisfaction and poured the freshly cooked vegetable porridge into a bowl.

Back in the room, I saw that the old man's eyes were still open.

Xia Lan held up the porridge in her hand.

"Grandpa, I'm going to bring Grandma her food. The doctor said she's been hungry all day and needs some nutrition now."

Xia Lan's words made the old man's eyes light up, and he immediately blinked quickly.

It seems to be telling Xia Lan to hurry up.

"Then you stay home and behave yourself, or you can rest for a while."

The old man blinked slowly.

Xia Lan nodded to the old man, picked up her things, and left.
