When Ye Caiping got home, it was just in time for dinner.

They had just put down their baskets when Ye Yong returned. The three women pretended not to see anything and said nothing.

Everyone in the family sat down at the dinner table.

As usual, Grandma Ye first served Ye Caiping a bowl.

"Mom, I'm not hungry today. You and Dad should eat more," Ye Caiping said.

"Me too..." Ye Jin'er began, "My sister and I aren't hungry, so we won't eat."

The food at home won't last many more days; every meal we eat is one less meal we have left.

"Eat? You, you actually want me to eat this stuff? I must be crazy to eat poisonous roots! My God!!!" Ye Jinhua felt like she was going crazy, her face turned ashen, and she rushed out the door.

As she ran, her mind kept going blankly.

After finally reaching the edge of the field, they saw Old Man Ye and Ye Daquan weeding in the wheat field.

"Grandpa, my aunt and cousin have secretly eaten poisonous roots!" Ye Jinhua screamed at the two of them before she had even stood still.

She didn't care whether they lived or died, but they had eaten the poisonous root and needed to see a doctor, which would cost money!
