When Ye Caiping opened her eyes, she was a divorced woman cast out of her husband's home, with her sister-in-law sharpening her knife at her. It's not that the sister-in-law wouldn't to...
"What's wrong? What's wrong? A girl is missing!" Aunt Pang and her husband Feng Kaicai rushed over.
"It's my Jin'er, has she run into some flower pickers...?" Old Mrs. Ye was so anxious she was almost crying.
Ye Huan'er was completely stunned; her sister had disappeared!
"Quickly, let's all go look for it," said Aunt Pang.
Ye Caiping snapped out of her daze and said urgently, "Sister Pang, please take them to look for me. I have to go back to the village."
"Go back to the village?" Old Mrs. Ye asked, puzzled.
"Mother, there's a good chance Jin'er secretly ran back to the village. I'll explain why later. I need to go find her. You and Sister Pang should also look for her in town."
As she spoke, Ye Caiping had already run out.
“Picking apples…”
Before she could finish speaking, Ye Caiping had already disappeared.
Ye Caiping ran all the way to where the oxcart was parked.
Ye Bajin is no longer here; he has obviously escorted the villagers back to their village.
Just then, there was an oxcart not far away, driven by an old man who seemed to be from the village on the opposite bank of the river.
Ye Caiping took out a string of coins from her spatial storage: "Grandpa, this is 20 coins. Please take me home."
"Huh?" The old man was stunned. "You don't need so much, two coins are enough..."
"No, just give me one."
Just as the villagers from He'an Village who had already boarded the bus were about to start cursing, Ye Caiping took out another string of money and stuffed it into one of their hands:
"Brothers and sisters, please have mercy, I have an emergency!"
The woman was pleasantly surprised to receive the money: "Alright, alright, do as you please."
The others, seeing that there was money to be shared, happily got off the bus as well.
"Grandpa, hurry! I'm from Qinghe Village, take me directly to Niutou Mountain."
The old man received the money and was very satisfied, so he quickly started cracking his bullwhip.
Because there were only two people, the oxcart ran very fast, even though their backsides were practically shaken to pieces.
Ye Caiping was so anxious that her face turned pale. She leaned against the oxcart, watching the carts rushing towards Niutou Mountain, her thoughts churning.
She originally wanted to avoid it, but ended up heading in that direction anyway.
Are they really doomed?
Or perhaps even her so-called plot awakening is part of the book?
With a sullen face, she realized that the oxcart was almost at Qinghe Village.
"Grandpa, as you hurry into the village, I'll call someone on the way." Ye Caiping pointed to the road. "Yes, that's where you go in."
Following Ye Caiping's instructions, the old man quickly arrived at the front of Old Ye's house.
From afar, Ye Caiping saw Ye Daquan carrying a hoe, preparing to enter the house.
"Big brother!"
Ye Daquan turned around and was taken aback: "Huh, Caiping... why did you come back alone?"
"We'll talk about it later. Quick, get in the car, let's go up the mountain."
Ye Daquan was puzzled, but he still obediently got into the car.
The old man driving the cart hurried towards Niutou Mountain.
"What's wrong?" Ye Daquan asked.
“Jin’er is on the mountain, she might be in danger. You must protect us in time,” Ye Caiping said.
"What, there's danger? Don't worry, with me here, no one can hurt you."
Ye Caiping nodded, somewhat moved.
The book states that only Li Jiaojiao and her siblings, along with their mother and daughter, were on the mountain at the time; Ye Daquan was not there.
Ye Caiping only breathed a sigh of relief when the oxcart stopped at the foot of the mountain.
It seems that her awakening in the plot is not part of the book.
The brother and sister got out of the car and headed up the mountain.
As they approached the place where the ginseng had been found last time, Ye Caiping saw three people standing on the steep slope in the distance.
It was Ye Jin'er, and a young boy and girl.
Ye Jin'er said, "I was the one who discovered this ginseng first! I found it a few days ago."
Li Jiaojiao raised an eyebrow: "That's hilarious. Since you found it, why didn't you dig it up first?"
Ye Caiping's face darkened, and she strode over: "Jin'er!"
Ye Jin'er was stunned. She hadn't expected her mother to discover that she had returned to the village and even follow her...
"Come home with me first." Ye Caiping came to her side.
"No!" Ye Jin'er gritted her teeth, feeling very aggrieved. "We were the ones who found this ginseng first, but now she's taken it from us."
She was unwilling to accept it!
Before Ye Caiping could speak, Li Jiaojiao looked her up and down and said, "So it's you. You're the woman who beat up Grandma Li and was eventually divorced by Uncle Li."
Ye Caiping raised an eyebrow and also sized up Li Jiaojiao.
Is this the female lead who lives a beautiful and cool life by stealing exam questions and picking up people?
Jiaojiao, her name sounds like a female lead, and she looks just like one. She's strikingly beautiful, with a delicate and supple figure, the kind that gets pampered and doted on.
Ye Caiping said, "It seems you pay a lot of attention to me."
Li Jiaojiao choked for a moment.
Her mother was the person Uncle Li truly cherished, the one he was willing to give his life for to marry.
The woman before him was vicious and cruel; she was Li Shuxiu's abandoned wife.
Now that Ye Caiping has said this, it seems like they are at a disadvantage.
Ye Caiping didn't want to provoke a conflict with her, so she pulled Ye Jin'er along, saying, "Let's go!"
"Mother..." Ye Jin'er was unwilling.
Ye Caiping glared at her: "If you don't leave, don't call me mother anymore. Go wherever you want."
Ye Jin'er shrank back when she was glared at, and nodded.
Ye Daquan quickly pulled the mother and woman apart, afraid they would tumble down the steep slope: "Let's go home first."
Although he didn't know what was going on, his younger sister had told him before she went up the mountain that there was danger!
So all he could think about was taking his younger sister and niece down the mountain.
The three of them gradually left the steep slope.
Only after they had walked far away did Ye Caiping breathe a sigh of relief and glance back at the figures of Li Jiaojiao and her brother.
It seems that all of this really can change.
The heavy weight on her heart finally lifted, and she felt light and cheerful.
