Fang Qiao died saving someone. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself reborn in the 1970s, a time of scarcity where everything required coupons.
Although there was a lack of food a...
Lin Youcai lowered his head in embarrassment, his shoulders gradually hunching over.
His left hand trembled as he desperately covered his face, as if this would protect his pitiful self-esteem from being trampled upon.
Looking at him now, Fang Qiao felt extremely relieved.
In my past life, I hurt Xiaoyun, causing her to miscarry late in pregnancy and become infertile for life.
He hurt Xiaojing in this life, causing her to have a moment of despair and attempt suicide by jumping into the river, almost dying.
It even caused an innocent girl to drink pesticide and lose her life.
He deserves to end up like this!
The double bad luck charm is incredibly effective!
Fang Qiao curled her lips into a cold smile and said in a sarcastic tone, "Lin Youcai, we were educated youth who worked together for five or six years. I was just trying to be nice to you and asked you a question, why are you ignoring me?"
“That’s right, Lin Youcai, why don’t you answer when people ask you questions?” The young man pushing Lin Youcai’s wheelchair behind him suddenly chimed in.
Fang Qiao then noticed the man and turned to look at him with some surprise, not understanding why the person who was with Lin Youcai would speak on her behalf.
Upon closer inspection, it became clear that the young man's face looked somewhat familiar.
Fang Qiao: "Hmm, you look kind of familiar?"
“Classmate, we’ve met before,” Lin Tengfei said eagerly.
Fang Qiao didn't remember, her eyes looking somewhat confused: "You are..."
Lin Tengfei quickly reminded her, "We met in the cornfield near Yushui Middle School in Heshan in mid-October. You were riding a bicycle with a sack of books on the back. I even offered to help you then. Don't you remember?"
"Oh!" Fang Qiao suddenly realized, "I remember now, it's you."
Lin Tengfei nodded: "Yes, that's right, it's me."
Fang Qiao looked at him, then at Lin Youcai, and asked, "So what is your relationship with him?"
“Relatives,” Lin Tengfei quickly replied, “They are relatives.”
Fang Qiao nodded: "I see."
She didn't want to deal with anyone related to Lin Youcai, and having already witnessed Lin Youcai's fate, she exchanged a few pleasantries and then excused herself, saying she had to leave.
Lin Tengfei first let out an "Ah," then nodded in a low voice: "Oh, okay."
He knew it was a bit presumptuous, but he couldn't help asking her, "Excuse me, where do you live? Do you need me to give you a ride?"
Fang Qiao politely declined, "No need, you take care of your relatives."
Watching Fang Qiao's departing figure, Lin Tengfei felt somewhat lost.
He glared at Lin Youcai with annoyance. "Hey, Lin Youcai, a female classmate is talking to you, why are you ignoring her? That's so rude."
Lin Youcai then raised his head, and a bloody tooth mark had appeared on his lower lip.
"Female classmate?" He scoffed. "She's not a female classmate; she's already a mother of three."
Lin Tengfei was stunned. "You, what did you say? She's married? With a child?"
Lin Youcai clicked his tongue, not answering his question directly, but instead stating in a declarative tone: "You like her?"
Lin Tengfei's thoughts were exposed, and his face instantly turned bright red: "None of your business!"
Lin Youcai laughed mockingly.
Lin Tengfei thought he was being mocked for being blind to have fallen for a woman who had given birth. He was both ashamed and angry, and his tone became sharper: "What are you laughing at?"
"I laugh at you for being just like your father. You don't like perfectly good young girls, but you insist on liking married women."
Lin Youcai sneered, the mocking curve of his lips stinging Lin Tengfei's eyes: "That's right, young girls are innocent and naive, like blank sheets of paper. How can they compare to the charm of a married woman? Lin Tengfei, is the feeling of immorality exciting? No wonder you're the child raised by that man, your tastes are exactly the same as his."
When his idolized father was slandered as a lecherous scoundrel, Lin Tengfei felt a surge of anger rising in his chest, leaving him no time to ponder why he was so fond of Fang Qiao.
He swung his fist at Lin Youcai's face, then grabbed his collar, pulled his face close to his own, and warned, "Bastard! Don't you dare slander my dad!"
Lin Tengfei's fist slammed into Lin Youcai's cheekbone, almost deforming his face.
Lin Youcai's face contorted in pain, but he didn't cry out. His eyes were fixed on Lin Tengfei's face as he continued to mock, "Do you think these words are slander?"
"Then how did I come to be? Have you ever thought about that?"
“My mom was his cousin’s wife back then! She only married him later.”
Lin Tengfei was stunned and weakly defended himself: "Grandma, Grandma has already explained that when my cousin died and my father was also going to the battlefield, in order to leave an heir for both families, that's why we arranged for the two of them to have you."
Lin Youcai scoffed, "Bullshit, that's just something to fool idiots. My mother wasn't your grandmother's daughter-in-law. She had a proper mother-in-law and a proper brother-in-law. If she really wanted to have an heir, why didn't she match my mother up with her brother-in-law? It's not like she didn't have her own brothers. Why did she have to try to match her up with her cousin from another branch of the family?"
"It was clearly him who bullied my mother. He couldn't hide his pregnancy anymore, and he did this to cover up his shame."
Lin Youcai had absolutely no affection for his biological father; on the contrary, he hated him.
He had bullied someone and agreed to marry them to avoid trouble, but went to war without getting a marriage certificate. After fighting for several years, he married a high-ranking official and returned with a wife and children.
As for the child born to him by that woman from his hometown who had no official status?
Who is that?
