Chapter 3 02 Fu Yunlu stared at the palm of my hand for two seconds...
Fu Yunlu stared at the palm of my hand for two seconds, then raised his eyelids and glanced at me. He was a man who swam in the vortex of power every day, and his thoughts were too numerous to count. He was even more perceptive than I could count. He keenly caught the very slight commanding tone in my words and smiled, "You can slide. I'll watch you from here."
"Your equipment is all changed."
"Don't worry, I'll call you when I want to skate." He raised his hand and wanted to touch the top of my head, but I dodged it in disgust.
I said, "Fu Yunlu, don't touch my head, or I won't grow taller." I hated his behavior, but I couldn't just tell him to get out, so I found an excuse and started complaining like a spoiled child.
Fu Yunlu said with a smile: "You are almost twenty-one, you won't grow any longer."
"I grew a centimeter last month. It's probably because I never had enough to eat as a kid. After I got into Stro, I found the food here is really good." I put my arm on the railing and said to him, "Because of malnutrition, when I was twelve, a six-year-old kid grabbed me by the waist and pushed me into a garbage dump. I had no power to resist."
So I hate those of you who, after gaining money and power, want to start controlling me.
Fu Yunlu frowned slightly: "...You can't beat a kid who is six years younger than you?"
I shrugged. "His family is very rich on our planet, so he's as fat as a pig at such a young age."
I adjusted my hair and softened my voice, "So Mr. Fu, please don't touch the top of my head. I still want to grow taller."
Fu Yunlu said, "You are already tall enough. If you grow any taller, you will be taller than me."
I approached him with grievance and said, "Ah, is that not possible? If Mr. Fu doesn't like me being taller than you—" I tilted my head pretentiously and leaned my whole body towards him, "Then you can touch me. I can bear the pain and let you go."
I lowered my eyes to look at his hand. His fingers were twitching and he seemed ready to move, but I didn't rush. Instead, I waited for him to speak.
As expected, Fu Yunlu simply raised her hand and patted my shoulder, signaling that I could stand up straight: "I'm not that stingy. Besides, whether you grow taller or not can't be determined by patting your head."
I stood up again and glanced at Fu Yunlu's hand on my shoulder - I really don't like this pretentious alpha in front of me, now I even want to grab his wrist and break his bones -
I grabbed his wrist and Fu Yunlu raised his eyebrows. Before he could react, I started skating backwards. Even though Fu Yunlu didn't want to leave the skating rink at all, he had to follow my pace because I held his hand. His center of gravity leaned forward, and in order to stabilize his body, he could only hold my outstretched hand with his other hand.
He frowned in annoyance, but his noble etiquette and pride only allowed him to frown in front of an alpha who was eight or nine years younger than him. He said, "Liang Guanyue, didn't I tell you that I won't--"
"But it's lonely to ski alone. Mr. Fu, you're alone on the shore with no one to accompany you. Why don't I invite you to join me?"
Fu Yunlu sneered, "What kind of invitation is this?"
I said leisurely, "It's an invitation from a little kid."
“…” Fu Yunlu took a breath, as if she wanted to say something, but finally chose to shut up.
I winked at him and said, "From now on, I'm your coach and will teach you how to skate." We were not far apart, so I shook his hand and said, "Okay, Fu Yunlu?"
"..." This is a troublesome lover, Fu Yunlu thought. Because the matter was out of his control, although it was just a trivial matter, the cause was because of a twenty-year-old college student, which was enough to make him irritated.
He heard the pretty child opposite him, Liang Guanyue, persistently asking again, stretching out her voice as if to coax him: "Is it okay?"
Fu Yunlu let out a long breath and said calmly, "How are you going to teach me?"
I loosened my grip on his hand, looked down at Fu Yunlu, who was still tightly gripping my fingers, and chuckled darkly, "How about you try to let go of my hand and stand on the ice for a while, Mr. Fu?"
Things had come to this point, and Fu Yunlu had no choice but to learn.
If he was only eighteen or nineteen years old, or at Liang Guanyue's age, he might be interested in learning this useless skill and be happy to learn it, but now, although he has nothing to do with old age, he has no motivation at all for such unrewarding things.
His best friend once said that ever since he decided to fight for the throne, life has become increasingly boring. At first, Fu Yunlu didn't think so. He was immersed in the desire for power. The loyalty and fear others showed him were like drugs, making him extremely excited and unable to get rid of it.
This leads him to carefully consider every person and every thing he encounters before dealing with them: What can he/it bring to me? What value does it have to me? Or is it just a burden?
Fu Yunlu suddenly realized that all his actions had become a machine for measuring benefits. He couldn't tell whether this was good or bad, and he didn't want to change this principle.
Then one day, he accepted the school's invitation and returned to his alma mater in order to earn some good reputation. He watched the freshman entrance ceremony as a special guest in the audience.
A tall, thin young man stepped onto the podium. He said, "Hello everyone, I'm Liang Guanyue, the representative of this year's outstanding freshman speakers."
This child, Liang Guanyue, lacked the hidden pride his age would have harbored. Facing a group of wealthy and powerful adults and peers, he remained composed and smiled. He told them, "I come from a planet far from the main city. I worked hard to achieve excellent grades, but was about to fall short of my first university tuition payment. It was Stello University that offered financial assistance to a poor student like me."
Fu Yunlu quietly looked at the child on the stage, trying to find some flaws in his pretty fair face, such as embarrassment about the whispers of the freshmen below the stage, pride in his ability to get active funding from the University of Sunderland, or inferiority complex when he recounted his tragic experience.
But he didn't notice any of this on Liang Guanyue's face.
Eighteen-year-old Liang Guanyue, who should have possessed a strong sense of self-esteem, was unburdened by any unnecessary burdens. He readily confessed that he was an orphan so poor he could barely afford his tuition, calmly recounting someone else's story. This led Fu Yunlu to even ask the person next to him, somewhat impolitely, "Is this definitely what he went through?"
"Of course."
"...Interesting." Fu Yunlu thought that if this child named Liang Guanyue could make eye contact with him later, he would be kind enough to pay for his tuition for four years.
Fu Yunlu had forgotten how many years had passed since he last did something good without any reason or concern for gains or losses. He thought it might have been in elementary school.
Unfortunately, Liang Guanyue's gaze never stayed on him from beginning to end.
These memories that suddenly burst into his mind made Fu Yunlu, who was currently learning to skate, somewhat distracted. Liang Guanyue had already let go of his hand, turned around, and flew lightly like a butterfly to a place □□ meters away from him.
"Is this long distance okay, Mr. Fu?" I opened my arms and smiled at Fu Yunlu, "If not, I'll come and pick you up."
Fu Yunlu didn't move, but smiled helplessly: "...When you say teach, do you mean let me slide over by myself?"
"You have to try it yourself first before you can grow," I said. "That's what I taught those kids."
Fu Yunlu could actually laugh: "You may have forgotten that I am an alpha who is almost ten years older than you."
I said, "Okay, Alpha, who's almost ten years older than me, try it yourself first."
Because I repeatedly went against his wishes, Fu Yunlu almost lost the gentlemanly smile on his face.
I feigned ignorance and simply urged, "Come over to me, okay? If you fall, I'll catch you."
Fu Yunlu asked doubtfully, "...are you that quick to react?"
I stared into his eyes, pursed my lips and smiled: "Trust me."
Fu Yunlu avoided the gaze for a moment, but said nothing more. He moved his legs and set off.
The distance was neither long nor short. Fu Yunlu carefully slid to my side. This sport was indeed not a difficult task for him, but Fu Yunlu himself did not want to take the risk of losing face in front of the younger generation.
However, it was too early to say good things. There was a patch of uneven ice on Fu Yunlu's route, which caused the novice to immediately lose his balance and fall forward in panic.
I was quick-witted and slid towards him the moment his body swayed for the first time. When he was about to make close contact with the ice, I put my arms around his waist.
"See, I didn't lie to you." I said with a smile, but my eyes seemed to be scanning something as I looked at Fu Yunlu who was hugged around the waist. "Luckily, she didn't fall."
Fu Yunlu supported himself on my hand and stood up. His nose brushed against my long hair. Only then did he realize that he was almost in my arms, so close that we could breathe together.
Fu Yunlu stared into my eyes, but his gaze was slightly tilted upwards. I guess he was probably looking at my eyelashes.
He said, "Don't you think we are very close now?"
I curled my eyes and replied, "Yes. I just noticed that you have a very light black mole under your lip."
Fu Yunlu didn't say anything, just pressed the back of my neck and kissed me.
I had anticipated this kiss and turned my head away.
Fu Yunlu asked, "What are you hiding for?"
"Oh, is Mr. Fu angry?"
“…”
"But I didn't promise to kiss you."
I pressed my thumb on the mole under Fu Yunlu's lip, smiled softly and kissed her: "But now I allow it."
