Mu Guangcheng had just realized what was happening when he turned around and saw Shi Nianzhi's back as she ran towards a man.

Shi Nianzhi stood in front of Lu Jiunian. "Why are you here?"

Shi Nianzhi looked around. Mu Guangcheng had said that this place was full of twists and turns. Lu Jiunian was just passing by.

Lu Jiunian looked down at Shi Nianzhi and said, "Let's go."

He continued walking along the road, and a car pulled up beside him.

The car window rolled down, revealing Jiang Kai's face.

Jiang Kai chuckled and called out to Shi Nianzhi, "Hey? Poor little thing, it's already dark. Where are you going? There aren't any shops nearby, and this isn't the right direction for a walk, is it?"

Shi Nianzhi spoke in a soft, low voice as he stood under the streetlight and stepped on his own shadow.

Jiang Kai got out of the car and stood in front of Shi Nianzhi, looking down at him. "You're so thin, why aren't you wearing an extra layer of clothing? Aren't you cold?"

He took off his suit jacket and draped it over Shi Nianzhi.

Shi Nianzhi frowned and stepped back. He was quite wary; after all, unsolicited kindness, especially from strangers, was never a good thing.

Jiang Kai pressed down on his shoulder. "Let's go to my house?"

"You helped me yesterday, and you're helping me today. What's your real purpose?"

"What could my motives be? I know your husband; we're good friends. If I hadn't given you directions yesterday, would you have gone home with him?"

Jiang Kai lowered his head, took out his phone, and scrolled through it for a long time.

Then, as if remembering something, he pulled out a photo and said, "Look, this is our graduation photo. Your husband and I are really close."

Shi Nianzhi looked over and saw a university graduation photo. Lu Jiunian and Jiang Kai were standing in the last row. Jiang Kai had his arm around Lu Jiunian's shoulder and was making a peace sign at the camera, while Lu Jiunian stood there expressionless.
