In the 4710th year of the Federal Calendar, 15-year-old girl Lian Han leaves the planet she lives on with a card system, a residual soul, and three small beasts, heading for the Imperial Capital St...
"General, you're joking. I just haven't been looking at the AI."
"What are you busy with?"
"Studying." Of course, Lian Han couldn't say that he was making cards in the guest room, since there were no protective measures and the card explosion rate was extremely high.
Although Lian Han was confident that this kind of thing wouldn't happen to her, others didn't know that.
General Ning nodded. "I'm here to inform you. Several starships are returning to the Federation in the next few days. You can go back with them."
"Yes, thank you for your trouble, General."
Why don't you call me uncle?
Lian Han said, "Uncle Ning."
"Hmm." General Ning's lips curved into a smile. Although he might regret saying this later, he felt it was fine for now.
Ning Jue hesitated for a moment, then asked, "What's going on between you and your family?"
“This is my family matter.” Lian Han frowned. “Why is Uncle meddling in my business?”
General Ning rubbed his temples. "At the Skynet meeting today, Marshal Ling's low spirits were unbearable for most people. Everyone's guessing he's heartbroken. But I personally think it's more likely related to you." Besides, Marshal Ling asked him to take good care of you.
"Oh," Lian Han responded, then said, "If there's nothing else, let's leave it at that. I'm tired and want to rest."
Ning Jue looked at the disconnected call and a smile appeared on her face that sent chills down the spine of her adjutant, Yu.
This was the first time since he became a general that someone had hung up on him...
The universe is truly beautiful, vast, and mysterious. But it would be even better if there were no people around to get in the way.
—These are Lian Han's thoughts on his third day on the starship.
She was standing in the starship's viewing area, with a small, emerald-green scorpion perched on her head, gazing at the starry sky.
Beside Lian Han stood her adjutant, who was smiling as he gazed at the starry sky, seemingly oblivious to her presence. But Lian Han knew that the moment she moved, the adjutant would immediately follow and offer his concerned greetings.
So why did Ning Jue assign her adjutant here to monitor and protect her? Was she worth such attention? Lian Han couldn't figure it out and could only bury the question in his heart for the time being.
Soon, Lian Han was about to go back to rest when he heard a notification that the starship was entering combat readiness mode.
"Warning: A large number of unidentified warships have been detected ahead. We are now in combat alert mode. Passengers, please return to your rooms immediately."
"Warning: A large number of unidentified warships have been detected ahead. We are now in combat alert mode. Passengers, please return to your rooms immediately."
"Warning: Large number of unidentified warships detected ahead..."
A red light flashed down the corridor, and amidst repeated reminders, Lian Han and his adjutant Yu arrived at the command room.
"How come..." Lian Han paused, and then saw many starships, or rather, warships, appear on the screen.
The black hull, with its mysterious appearance in the equally dark universe, resembled the shape of her military starship, but was even cooler, and one could vaguely see the energy cannons that were charging up.
Lian Han blinked; this was much more interesting than any film she had ever seen.
[That's much more dangerous now. Look at your luck!] Old Xing mocked.
He thought back to the past; those guys from the future seemed certain that something would happen to her if she boarded a starship. And there must be a reason for that certainty; the starships she was on had probably been involved in quite a few accidents, whether it was a coincidence or something else.
Noticing her worry, the adjutant patted the girl on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Miss. Even if the sky falls, there's still the starship in front to hold it up."
Lian Han nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the people around him. He noticed that although they were all frowning, they didn't seem particularly worried. He instantly understood that they weren't afraid of these warships. There were three starships returning from the Northern Territory this time; theirs was a civilian starship, but the two military warships protecting them in the middle—good luck to the enemy.
Lieutenant Yu smiled at Lian Han, then looked at the busy Yan Luo, "Yan Luo, have you made contact yet?"
"Wait a little longer—it's done." Yan Luo, the starship pilot, pressed the last button and instantly breathed a sigh of relief, finally getting it done before his adjutant became impatient.
The screen then switched to a scene resembling a command center, where a man leaned back in a chair, wearing a mask that revealed only his handsome lips. "Hello, Lieutenant Yu."
“You know me. Then reveal your identity as well.” Lieutenant Yu raised an eyebrow in surprise.
So it wasn't a case of pirates mistakenly hijacking the military starship, but rather a premeditated act? The adjutant suddenly felt uneasy.
The man spoke up, "I cannot disclose my identity. I only wish to meet that young lady."
Lian Han is the only female person in this area...
[Tsk, still looking for you. Good luck, girl.] Old Xing spoke with nothing but schadenfreude.
[Ha! It's alright, you're here to share the hardships. You won't die.]
Lian Han replied to the old man, and then he heard the adjutant say, "Miss."
While mentally cursing the old man's gloating, Lian Han could only move over, her face still showing confusion.
"You've seen the person. What's the purpose?" Lian Han only showed her face briefly before being hidden behind Lieutenant Yu again. The general had given a strict order to protect this young lady.
"I heard you're a card maker, Miss. You've dug up all my branch offices." The man didn't seem to care, swirling the wine in his glass, his dark eyes revealing endless depths.
[Is it that Yi Jun?] The one who kidnapped her last July?
[A mother-child tracking card? But who would leak this?] Old Man Xing was surprised. The person carrying this tracking card wouldn't notice anything unusual; only Ling Yue and the others knew its special uses.
[...That's no longer important.] After a brief twitch, Lian Han bypassed the adjutant and said, "If you're talking about Yi Jun, then it was me. But he provoked me first."
