The sudden change caught Yun Zhe off guard. Everyone gathered on the south side of the castle. Yun Zhe wasn't worried about no one catching the vampire; he was worried that this would disrupt the hunters' plans, provoke the vampire, and cause things to get out of control.

Sure enough, a woman's piercing scream soon came from the south side of the castle. This excited everyone even more, and they all ran towards the sound of the scream, Yun Zhe being one of them.

However, things did not go as smoothly as everyone expected. When everyone was on high alert and broke down the door, they did not see the victim lying in a pool of blood, but rather a robber holding a knife and about to commit the crime, and a disheveled woman crying.

Disappointed, the group beat the bandits and continued their aimless search of the south side of the castle. Meanwhile, Glass quietly opened the door to a two-story building near the south gate. The building, dilapidated from the war, barely held together by its ruins. Glass and several hunters drew their weapons and carefully took up positions to attack.

Glass was breathing heavily. This was the first time he'd done something like this. Although Sind had told him that newborn vampires were extremely weak, only slightly stronger than before their transformation, and that even drinking human blood wouldn't quickly change their abilities, Glass still couldn't calmly accept it all. Things had developed beyond his imagination. He didn't even dare tell his daughter. And what was even harder for him to accept was that, according to Sind, this had actually been going on for a long time.

He couldn't help but wonder if the recent appearance of vampires was all orchestrated by the higher-ups. Meanwhile, the hunters around him remained remarkably calm; in Sind's words, they were all seasoned veterans.

Glass coughed twice, a coded signal, but there was no response from inside the room.

Glass wondered if Yun Zhe or someone else had already found this place! With this thought, Glass hurriedly opened the other door to the house. The hunters all raised their crossbows. But the house was empty!

Glass's breathing quickened. He looked around; the chains in the room had been broken, and the entire room was covered in scratches from sharp fingernails. There were patches of blood on the floor. As Glass wondered what was happening, a drop of blood landed on his forehead. Glass looked up sharply and saw a person lying on the dilapidated second floor. Glass gestured to the hunter beside him. They rushed up and then let out an incredulous gasp.

The vampire was drained of blood...

Upon receiving this news, Glass slumped to the ground in despair. It was over; things were out of control…

Yun Zhe was frantic. He had just spotted a figure moving rapidly towards the clock tower at a speed completely different from that of ordinary people. Overjoyed, Yun Zhe ran after the figure, but unsurprisingly lost track of it. He had no choice but to jump onto the roof, scanning his surroundings as he ran towards higher ground.

"Glass, where are you? And what about that figure from earlier? Did they fail to execute him?" Yun Zhe actually hoped that Glass and his group had failed; dealing with vampires was ultimately easier.

Yun Zhe looked around and finally saw Glass and his group acting suspiciously near the South Gate, searching around as if they were looking for something.

Yun Zhe squinted and suddenly felt a chill rise from the bottom of his heart. He looked around and suddenly noticed a young man below the house, staring at Yun Zhe with bloodshot eyes.

Yun Zhe had no idea what the man was thinking, but he could sense the surging killing intent emanating from him. Yun Zhe understood that this person was probably one of the vampires he was looking for, but what puzzled Yun Zhe was that the vampire seemed to have a grudge against him, clearly wanting to get rid of him as soon as possible. Yun Zhe, however, had absolutely no recollection of the person before him.

Yun Zhe jumped off the roof, a move that puzzled the other party. However, the other party did not hesitate for long and immediately pounced fiercely, tearing at Yun Zhe.

"A vampire is biting someone!!!" A blacksmith appeared out of nowhere and witnessed the scene. He ran away while shouting loudly.

Upon hearing the sound, the other party did not hesitate and bit down hard on Yun Zhe's neck.

Seeing that the blacksmith's shouts hadn't attracted any attention, Yun Zhe stopped worrying about it and subdued the vampire with a single move. Clearly, the vampire's strength and speed were far inferior to Yun Zhe's; he was a young vampire.

"Who transformed you?!" Yun Zhe asked fiercely while desperately holding down the struggling vampire.

The vampire did not answer, and continued to try to turn around and attack Yun Zhe.

"Why do you want to kill me?" Yun Zhe asked sharply, trying to stare into the other's eyes and use his bloodline to suppress him and force him to tell the truth.

"Because you are a vampire!!" the vampire cried out in a shrill voice, which was quite terrifying.

Yun Zhe was taken aback by the answer, which nearly allowed the other person to break free.

Yun Zhe felt a bit confused. A vampire wanted to kill him just because he was a vampire. This vampire was quite interesting.

Yun Zhe managed to subdue him again with difficulty.

The man turned his head and glared fiercely at Yun Zhe, which gave Yun Zhe the opportunity to ask sharply, "Why did you kill the vampire?"

The vampire's eyes were unfocused, and he mechanically replied, "Damn vampires transformed us, forced us to kill, and after killing, they wanted to kill us as vampires. I hate the vampire who transformed me, and I hate even more the fool who was smug about being transformed. So I killed my friend, and I will kill every vampire I encounter, including the one who transformed me."

"Who is that vampire?! Do you know?" Yun Zhe guessed it was probably Sind, but just to be on the safe side, he still asked.

"I don't know, all I know is that I'm going to kill the vampire!"

Yun Zhe felt a headache coming on. Then he heard a flurry of footsteps around him, and Glass was looking over the corner. He was both surprised and delighted. He was surprised that Yun Zhe could actually suppress the vampire, and delighted that this meant Sind hadn't lied to him; the newly converted vampire was indeed very weak.

"One last question, how did you find me?!" Yun Zhe and the vampire beneath him both saw Glass running towards them. Glass's men were even more direct, already aiming their crossbows at Yun Zhe and the vampire beneath him.

"I feel... after drinking vampire blood, I can sense the vampires in the city, I..." A crossbow bolt whistled through the air, killing him instantly. Yun Zhe glared angrily at Glass, then took several more crossbow bolts. Fortunately, they were all wooden arrows, which prevented Yun Zhe from being exposed, but the enemy had already begun switching to crossbows with iron arrowheads, clearly intending to leave Yun Zhe behind as well.

Glass stared blankly at Yun Zhe. He hadn't given the order to fire, but seven or eight crossbow bolts had already struck the vampire and Yun Zhe on his body. He looked around blankly at the cold, unruly eyes of those who called themselves his subordinates and their practiced arrow-changing movements. Suddenly, he understood what they were up to, which almost made Glass's heart stop, and he couldn't help but shiver.
