Chapter Seventeen Noble Carriage

"Tsk tsk tsk," Yun Zhe shook his head and leaned back in.

"The lord's brother... he won't rebel, will he?" Yun Zhe suddenly said quietly in the carriage.

Ellie shuddered, and the carriage slowed down.

On the mountain path, a troop of cavalry came galloping up. Yun Zhe looked back; the men were dressed and armed in various ways, but they all had red flame tattoos on their bare arms and faces.

I was stunned for a moment. A mercenary group? And they were all cavalry. Not only were they strong, but they were also very rich.

The two riders at the front quickly reached Yun Zhe's carriage. One of them, a bald man dressed in animal skins, carrying a battle axe and riding a large black horse, suddenly reined in his horse. He looked down at Ellie, who was driving the carriage, and grinned, his eyes filled with desire.

Ellie stared at him coldly, and she knew exactly what he was thinking.

The burly man reached out to lift Ellie onto the horse. But as if she knew what he was thinking, Ellie suddenly jumped back, dismounted from the carriage, and drew her longsword.

The burly man raised an eyebrow, his interest intensifying. Just as he was about to dismount, an even more robust man shouted from afar.

"Ted, this is a serious matter!"

The bald, burly man glanced at the people in the distance, then looked deeply at Ellie, licked his lips, and said, "Little girl, going to Jialai? It's too dangerous for you to go there looking like this, but I can protect you, the kind of close protection that I'll make sure you're safe." After saying that, he chuckled lewdly.

Ellie's face flushed pink with anger, and her chest heaved violently, further arousing the bald lecher.

Yun Zhe stepped down from the carriage and quietly walked behind the black horse.

"Ted!" the man in front shouted again.

Ted glanced at his older brother ahead, snorted with dissatisfaction, spurred his horse, and charged forward.

He never noticed Yun Zhe behind him.

Yun Zhe smiled dismissively. He climbed back into the carriage. Finding the carriage motionless, Yun Zhe peeked out and saw Ellie still standing there, her longsword still unsheathed.

"Who are they?" Yun Zhe asked.

Ellie abruptly turned to look at Yun Zhe, her eyes filled with anger. Then, as if realizing it was Yun Zhe, she let out a long sigh of relief.

"The Nightfire Mercenary Group, kings of the nearby no-man's-land."

Yun Zhe nodded, but he didn't quite understand why Ellie's reaction was a bit too intense.

"What's wrong? Are you alright?"

Yun Zhe stared at Ellie with concern in his voice, but unexpectedly triggered the bloodline suppression.

"That scumbag actually wanted to cut off my head on horseback... and before entering the city, and throw it by the roadside." Although his eyes were unfocused, the anger and murderous intent in his tone remained undiminished.

"Hmph, Ellie, don't be angry. He's just a quickie. I'll kill him as soon as we enter the city."

Ellie blinked in confusion after hearing this. But she understood what Yun Zhe meant when he said he would help her kill that person.

"Shall we still enter the city?" Ellie stared at the group of people with some worry. "They are well-equipped and powerful. With our abilities, it's impossible for us to kill them without being detected."

“Why not go in? Not only do we need to enter the city, but we also need to stay for a couple more days.” Yun Zhe patted the chair. “Quick, girl, you don’t want to run into those people in the middle of nowhere, do you?”

Ellie snapped out of her daze, sheathed her sword, and continued driving. Suddenly, she pulled a silk scarf from her chest and wrapped it around her face.

"What are you doing?" Yun Zhe asked curiously.

"I don't want to cause trouble," Ellie said irritably.

"Take it off, take it off. It's not your fault that you're pretty, you've been teased. Don't do this."

Ellie turned around abruptly, her gaze leaving Yun Zhe puzzled.

"I don't think I did anything wrong. It's just that the young men in the city are too enthusiastic, and I don't want to be hit on."

Yun Zhe scratched his head, gave an awkward smile, and shrank back into the car.

Ellie turned her head away, revealing a smile on her face beneath the scarf.
