An African college student transmigrates into a vampire. He initially wants to live a carefree life but ends up becoming a powerful minister supporting the dragon.
This tells the story of a v...
“I can understand greed, I wouldn’t call him insidious, but he certainly doesn’t give off a sunny vibe. What about lust?” Serena straightened her hair and suddenly remembered the night she got drunk. Yun Zhe seemed to have taken advantage of her, but for some reason, she actually believed that Yun Zhe had really discovered those people lying in ambush.
"Ha, I've seen it several times. He's been touching Ellie inappropriately, and Ellie has been half-heartedly going along with it. Last night, Ellie even went to that guy's room. Humph." As she said this, Xixi's face turned a little red.
“Ellie, so it was her,” Serena recalled her decision to have Ellie go to Yun Zhe. “Was it because of that time?” Thinking of this, Serena sighed softly.
Xi Xi didn't notice the change in Serena's emotions and continued to talk about the things Yun Zhe disliked.
That afternoon, Andrew convened an emergency meeting. Those attending were all knights with military commands, including even Zade, the captain of Serena's Guard.
Most people knew the topic of Andrew's meeting: the method for training soldiers that Yun Zhe had mentioned during the day. Andrew felt it could indeed help new recruits who had never been on the battlefield quickly get up to speed. Several knights who were present during the day, Arthas, Lorraine, and others had already participated in the discussion and all thought it was feasible. This time, taking advantage of Luke's return to relieve the troops, everyone sat down together to further refine the plan.
Andrew spoke the most at the meeting; if one hadn't already participated in the discussion during the day, they would have assumed the idea came from him. At this point, everyone agreed on the idea; the only question was, how to define these skilled individuals?
The term "skilled soldier" does exist in the military, but skilled soldiers aren't necessarily those with strong combat abilities. Some excel at reconnaissance, others at ambushes, and still others possess special skills. Such skilled soldiers are not uncommon in the military; in fact, they are plentiful. However, concentrating all these skilled soldiers for this kind of confrontation seems inappropriate.
"Let's use the number of battles they've participated in to determine who's the best. Select one hundred from the most to the least. That should be much better than those greenhorns. After the veterans are transferred, we can select new recruits from the refugees to supplement them. That way, we'll have a full-strength unit." Yun Zhe, who had been dragged over, couldn't stand their inefficiency any longer and interjected again.
Everyone thought the idea was really good, fair, and convincing. Even the term "greenhorn" was quite novel.
"So, who would be the most suitable person to lead this 100-man squad, which is meant to hone the skills of the other 100-man squads?" Andrew asked, looking at everyone.
Everyone looked at each other, and although they couldn't say it out loud, they all felt the same way.
"I'm not going to lead. I need to train my two teams. You can just choose someone with more combat experience to lead them." Yun Zhe stood up, repeatedly declining, and was even preparing to leave.
Andrew glanced at Yun Zhe. He was actually quite worried about Yun Zhe's offer to lead the hundred-man team, even though logically, the person who proposed the idea was the most qualified to lead it. But Andrew was inherently somewhat resistant to Yun Zhe leading the team, perhaps because of his race, or perhaps because it was Yun Zhe who had proposed the method?
Actually, no. Andrew did have reason to be wary of Yun Zhe, but the reason was somewhat laughable: Yun Zhe gave him a sense of disconnect. He was an Aluru, yet he was neither servile nor arrogant towards humans, and polite and respectful towards elves, seemingly just like a human. His handwriting was terrible, with problems in grammar and spelling, clearly indicating a lack of proper education, yet he possessed wisdom and abilities beyond ordinary people. He made astonishing pronouncements and offered insightful opinions on the relief of Donic City, the handling of refugees, military and domestic affairs, and even architectural education. But while he was knowledgeable, he would always ask childish questions, making people laugh and cry. In short, he was strange and very contradictory. Andrew trusted his intuition, and seeing him give up voluntarily, a huge weight was lifted from his heart.
In terms of seniority, aside from Andrew, Arthas was the most qualified person present. Ultimately, with Andrew leading the support, the position of captain of the 100-man whetstone fell to Arthas.
Andrew's efficiency exceeded Yun Zhe's expectations. By evening, the entire hundred-man squad, composed entirely of veterans with at least three combat experiences, was assembled. The first challenger unit was also formed: Luke's hundred-man squad, which had just achieved a pyrrhic victory. All the missing soldiers in this squad were handpicked from the more than three hundred returning from the front lines; it was a squad embodying the hard work of the three knights on the front lines, a squad at the height of its strength and morale.
The first duel took place at the city gates of Perth. It simulated a siege battle at the city gates. Arthas's forces were primarily defensive, while Luke's forces were primarily offensive. After both sides arrayed themselves, they attracted a large crowd of soldiers and civilians. They gathered together, forming a huge semicircle around the area. The crowd pointed and discussed, debating who would be the final victor.
On the city wall, besides the knights, Serena, Hee-hee, and even Alice, Wood, and their mother stood aside, watching the two groups of soldiers below the city.
"Luke is a shrewd young man. He has gathered almost all of the most elite troops besides Arthas's forces, a hundred of them. And they are just returning victorious, their morale is high. I think Arthas is in some danger this time." Nyrent stood firmly on Luke's side, cheering him on.
