Thirty-eight new agreements

Yun Zhe was surprised to see Ellie.

After sunset that day, Yun Zhe successfully blended into Bahrain. As an architecture student, Yun Zhe expressed his full appreciation and immense joy for Bahrain's urban architectural design. As he strolled through the city, observing it, he saw a beautiful, enigmatic figure from behind. Intuitively, he knew it was a vampire. Adhering to the principle of avoiding trouble, Yun Zhe turned to leave, only to spot another furtive figure.

That was Ellie. She was wearing a hood, so her face wasn't visible. But her leather armor was highly recognizable. Judging from the situation, she seemed to be following that beautiful figure.

Yun Zhe didn't want to disturb her work, and his first thought was that Ellie's presence in Bahrain at this moment was most likely to be to see him. As for why she wanted to see him, it certainly wasn't as simple as helping him get the ring. Yun Zhe was just thinking about how to slip away when he unexpectedly met Ellie's gaze.

Yun Zhe shrugged and waved as a greeting.

When Ellie saw Yun Zhe, a hint of joy flashed in her eyes. This quickly turned into a complex expression. She walked to Yun Zhe's side, and a single sentence from her made him lose his composure.

"Yun Zhe, we can trust each other, right?"

Looking into the girl's frank eyes, Yun Zhe felt a little flustered. What was she trying to do? Was this some kind of conversation tactic?

Yun Zhe nodded mechanically, not daring to imagine the consequences of shaking his head.

"It's something very important, let's find a quiet place to talk."

Then they arrived at Ellie's hotel. Ellie remained silent the entire way, and Yun Zhe didn't know how to start a conversation. But upon seeing the hotel, Yun Zhe's mind began to stir. A girl taking the initiative to lead you to her place—if feelings are running high, it could be a perfect opportunity.

However, Ellie said something very serious that ruined the mood: "I'll get you the Sunshine Ring, you're coming back with me."

"Go back? To help your little count?" Yun Zhe was somewhat disappointed, and his tone was laced with sarcasm.

"She already knows you're an Aruru, she doesn't care about that, and only if you go back and help her will she reasonably give you a thousand gold coins."

“I do care, but I don’t necessarily need those thousand gold coins.” Yun Zhe waved his hand. “You help me get the ring, and I’ll help you get revenge. If you can’t come with me, give me a map, and I’ll go alone. Our agreement will still stand.”

Ellie pursed her lips and sat down on the bed, somewhat dejected.

"How about I go downstairs and sit for a while? Think it over and come find me downstairs." With that, Yun Zhe turned to leave.

“Wait, I have some news about your fellow Aruru,” Ellie said hurriedly.

Yun Zhe paused for a moment, "They've already arrived at the camp. If it's not related to the ring, then don't mention it."

“They’re all going to die,” Ellie said hurriedly, staring at Yun Zhe with pleading eyes.

Yun Zhe sighed, "Go ahead, but keep it brief."

"There's a vampire family here, and they might attack your Aluru camp tonight... have a... feast."

Yun Zhe's blood rushed to his head, and his body moved uncontrollably towards Ellie, pinning her down on the bed. "Are you telling the truth?!"

Ellie nodded absentmindedly. "I've been here for two days, waiting for you. During the day, I saw an auction house post an ad saying they were auctioning some interesting rings. Most of the interesting rings they were talking about were sun rings, so I took a look. Then I overheard two vampire employees at the auction house talking about the camp outside the city, planning to have some fun tonight."

"Are you sure you didn't say it on purpose for you to hear? What are the chances of that happening?"

"That auction house is run by a vampire. It just opened, and you can easily spot it if you pay a little attention. They know I'm a vampire, but they're obviously too young to affect me at all."

Yun Zhe couldn't help but laugh after hearing this, "How old are you? You're calling them young."

“I’ve been a vampire for seventy years,” Ellie replied mechanically.

Yun Zhe waved his hand helplessly in front of Ellie, and Ellie's eyes regained their clarity.

"Are you sure it's tonight? What time? Did you say? Can you find them?" Yun Zhe stopped staring at Ellie and asked a series of questions.

"I...I'll take you there. You, you come back with me."

"Okay, take me there and help me get the ring sorted out, then I'll go back with you. But the matter of helping you avenge the murder is another matter."

Ellie hesitated for a moment, then quickly nodded.

Yun Zhe felt uneasy. The fact that the man agreed so easily made him seem suspicious. But saving lives was the priority. He had been wandering around for most of the night, and it was almost midnight. If he went out any later, he might not be able to save anyone, which would be terrible.

"The woman I was following was going to that auction house. I have a feeling they're about to make their move, and I wanted to follow them to see what was going on..." Her voice trailed off at the end...

"You probably just want to have some fun while you're at it, don't you?" Yun Zhe's eyes turned cold.

Ellie hurriedly waved her hands, "No, no. I just thought that waiting for you here wasn't a good solution. I happened to hear about an Aluru camp, and I thought you were probably there, so I wanted to go and see if I could run into you..." By the end, she was probably feeling wronged and upset, her eyes reddened, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Upon hearing this, Yun Zhe immediately regretted his words. Looking at the girl before him, her eyes brimming with tears, he felt a pang of sadness.

"I'm sorry, I was wrong just now. I was a little anxious, maybe, maybe I didn't think things through. I shouldn't have thought of you like those people. Don't cry, don't cry, Ellie, I won't think of you like that again."

Ellie wiped her eyes and felt much better seeing Yun Zhe's flustered state.

“I’ve been a vegetarian for many years, unlike you.” With that, she got up and began to pack her gear.

"Eating vegetarian food"?

"Yes, vegetarian, the kind that doesn't suck human blood!"

Yun Zhe, realizing he hadn't even spared the wounded in the forest, scratched his head awkwardly and began tidying up his things. "Ellie, do you know how to use a crossbow? I have a lot of vampire hunter crossbow bolts here; I think they'll come in handy later."

Ellie whirled around, looking at Yun Zhe with a complicated expression. "Where did you get all this stuff from?"

Yun Zhe realized something was wrong; he had been careless and had directly taken something from his Qiankun bag...

Ellie snorted as she watched Yun Zhe stammer, "You must have saved up a lot of money before you went to bed, you damn rich man."

Yun Zhe scratched his head, completely bewildered and unsure of what to say. Ellie glanced thoughtfully at what Yun Zhe had pulled out.

"Did you really kill all those vampire hunters?"

After listening, Yun Zhe thought for a moment, grinned, and nodded.
