Chapter 37 Sudden Attack

"Ha!" He Yue laughed, curling her lip in disdain: "Which eye of Thirteenth Master saw me cause trouble? Anyone with eyes can see that I was the one who got beaten up. It's really speechless that Thirteenth Master is so blind. Or does Thirteenth Master have a prejudice against me and deliberately provoke trouble?"

"Who deliberately provoked this? You're being completely unreasonable!" The Thirteenth Prince was even more furious, but he couldn't say anything else hurtful, and his face turned red with anger.

"Hmph, I may be unreasonable, but I like it and I'm happy. If the Thirteenth Prince has any objections, please keep them to yourself, because it has nothing to do with me." Heyue made a face, and seeing the Thirteenth Prince's indignant yet helpless look, her own frustration vanished.

"You! I'm telling you, you can forget about ever setting foot in Fourth Brother's residence again. From today onwards, stay away from Fourth Brother and Fourth Sister-in-law." The Thirteenth Prince said this in a fit of pique.

Heyue's eyes widened: "What do you mean by this, Thirteenth Prince? Why should I listen to you? In the past, it was the Fourth Prince's wife who summoned me to the manor. When have I ever taken the initiative to approach the Fourth Prince and his wife? Your words are not very fair."

"Hmph, don't try to flatter me. Don't think that this will make Fourth Brother and Fourth Sister-in-law look at you differently. You're just the daughter of an official. You're not qualified to climb the social ladder."

"The Thirteenth Prince says I'm trying to climb the social ladder, but what makes you say that? What evidence do you have? Is it the behavior of a prince to judge someone's ill intentions based on your own likes and dislikes? The Thirteenth Prince's knowledge is still lacking; the Fourth Prince is far superior to the Thirteenth Prince in this regard." He Yue raised her eyebrows and scoffed disdainfully.

"You!" The Thirteenth Prince's face turned red, and he couldn't say a word. In his desperation, he blurted out, "I don't need any evidence. If I say you are, then you are. In short, don't even think about entering Fourth Brother's residence again."

He Yue burst out laughing, wanting to mock his shamelessness, but suddenly her eyes flashed, and she immediately stopped laughing and ran behind the Thirteenth Prince.

The thirteenth prince was stunned and confused, but the next moment he heard words that made him want to vomit blood.

"Fourth Prince, the Thirteenth Prince is bullying me again. He said I'm unreasonable and that I'm bullying Wanyan Mingshuang."

That aggrieved yet accusing tone sounded familiar. The Thirteenth Prince's eyes widened suddenly, filled with anger and resentment. He turned around and roared, "Zhao Jia and Yue, can you please stop using this trick? When have I ever bullied you?"

Heyue grabbed the Fourth Prince's dark blue robe, peeked out from behind him, and stared at the Thirteenth Prince with her watery eyes. She pouted and said, "Look, you yelled at me and were so fierce. I'm so scared." She hugged the Fourth Prince's leg tightly, her voice soft and pitiful.

The Fourth Prince was slightly taken aback, somewhat dazed, but just as the Thirteenth Prince rushed towards Heyue, he reached out and grabbed his arm, gently scolding, "Thirteenth Brother, how old are you? Why are you arguing with a child?"

"Fourth Brother!" the Thirteenth Prince exclaimed in disbelief, feeling somewhat aggrieved. Did Fourth Brother really treat this brat differently? What was so good about her?

Seeing Heyue sticking out her tongue smugly, the Thirteenth Prince became even angrier and pointed at her, saying, "Look at her, she's a bad girl who's deliberately bullying me. Fourth Brother, don't be fooled by her."

Fourth Prince shook his head and sighed: "She's younger than you, how much thought could she possibly have? Listen to your fourth brother, go back with him."

The thirteenth prince was still unwilling, but had no other choice. He lowered his head in dejection and agreed listlessly.

The Fourth Prince turned and entered the hall. The Thirteenth Prince glared at Heyue resentfully. Heyue waved at him with a smug smile. The Thirteenth Prince was angered again and quickly entered the hall.

He Yue composed herself, then entered the hall and returned to her seat.

When Yiergenjueluo saw her return, she breathed a sigh of relief, but when she saw the injury on her face, her eyes darkened.

Noticing her mother's anger, Heyue lowered her eyes guiltily, tugged at her sleeve, and said aggrievedly, "Mother, this time it wasn't Xiaoqi who did it on purpose, she was the one who started it."

She did it on purpose, but she absolutely refused to admit it.

Irgen Gioro patted her hand, sighed softly, and gently comforted her: "There's no need to say anything, Xiao Liu has already told Mother."

Heyue wasn't sure if her mother was angry, but seeing her loving expression, she breathed a sigh of relief and obediently stayed by her side.

After a while, Emperor Kangxi, sitting on the dragon throne, helped the Empress Dowager and led everyone to the platform outside the palace to admire the moon.

He Yue also saw Kangxi's appearance. He was slender with narrow eyes and a hooked nose. His smile made him look exceptionally gentle, but his eyes and brows held the majesty of a mature emperor. Perhaps because he had smallpox as a child, his handsome face had pockmarks, but it did not affect his charm.

The empress dowager beside him was from the Borjigit clan, from Khorchin, and looked like a kind old woman.

The four consorts were standing beside Emperor Kangxi and the Empress Dowager, chatting and laughing with them. The scene was harmonious and joyful. Around the four consorts were the other concubines, and further away were the princes, members of the imperial family, officials and their families.

Suddenly, a charming female voice came: "Your Majesty, I heard that there is a princess in Lord Marhan's mansion. She is beautiful and has a heroic air about her. It is said that she had a dispute with the Thirteenth Prince outside the palace a few days ago and injured him."

A sudden silence fell over the surroundings, followed by whispers. People were curious about the person who dared to injure the prince, and some were even gloating.

He Yue looked in the direction of the voice and saw that the speaker was a beautiful concubine who was some distance away from Kangxi. She was gorgeous and had a gentle smile, but what she said was completely different.

Another voice followed up with a reprimand: "Zhangjia, this is a beautiful day, why say such unromantic things? As far as I know, it's just a misunderstanding. The Thirteenth Prince is skilled in both literature and martial arts. How could a weak woman possibly injure the Thirteenth Prince?"
