Chapter 75 Conditions

Yunying responded with a smile and left.

A quarter of an hour after noon, the Fourth Prince entered through the moon gate, followed by the Thirteenth Prince, who only reached the Fourth Prince's shoulder.

The Fourth Princess stood at the door and greeted the Fourth Prince with a smile. Heyue followed closely behind and bowed her head in return.

The Thirteenth Prince greeted the Fourth Princess Consort, then glanced at Heyue, who had her head bowed and eyes lowered in submission, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.

"Please sit down," Fourth Prince said gently, glancing at Heyue.

The Fourth Prince sat at the head of the table, and his wife sat below him. The Thirteenth Prince sat on the other side of the Fourth Prince, with Heyue next to her, facing him directly.

The Thirteenth Prince's gaze fell on Heyue, and he frowned slightly.

Seeing his strange gaze frequently falling on her, Heyue also felt a little uncomfortable.

After all, it was I who said I wouldn't see him back then, but now I'm the one who's taking the initiative to come looking for him. It's really embarrassing.

However, she wasn't one to hold back, and quickly adjusted herself, boldly meeting his gaze. Originally, she wanted to glare at him fiercely to stop him from staring at her like that, but considering that the Fourth Prince and his wife were present, she couldn't be too rude, so she could only smile slightly at him to show her friendliness.

Upon hearing this laugh, the Thirteenth Prince's eyes widened as if he had seen a ghost.

He Yue found it quite amusing to see him so startled and bewildered by her every time, and her eyes crinkled into a smile.

At this moment, Fourth Princess spoke up: "Seventh Girl, didn't you say you had something to say to Thirteenth Uncle?"

Heyue nodded: "Heyue does have something she wants to say to the Thirteenth Prince alone." She glanced at the Thirteenth Prince, then lowered her head shyly: "It's about what happened at Prince An's residence last time."

She couldn't say those things in front of the Fourth Prince and his wife; she had to avoid them.

Fourth Princess Consort understood perfectly well. She thought to herself that he had come to apologize to Thirteenth Brother. After all, he was a young lady and it was a bit embarrassing for him to do so in front of her and the master. So she smiled slightly and said very considerately, "In that case, Thirteenth Uncle, please keep Seventh Girl company for a while."

The Thirteenth Prince didn't believe she was apologizing to him. He became wary, his brows furrowed even more, and he hesitated to speak.

Heyue glanced at the Thirteenth Prince, stood up first, and bowed: "I'd like to talk to the Thirteenth Prince outside. Please excuse me."

She stared at the Thirteenth Prince for a few moments, her bright eyes filled with sincerity.

Unable to withstand her intense gaze, the Thirteenth Prince stood up reluctantly and followed Heyue out of the room dejectedly.

When they reached a tree in the courtyard, some distance from the main house, the maids kept their distance. The Thirteenth Prince stood a couple of steps away from Heyue, watching her warily: "What exactly do you want to say?"

He Yue put her hands behind her back, smiled and winked mischievously, "Why are you so afraid of me? Do you think I'd eat you? This is the Fourth Prince's mansion."

Upon hearing her words, the Thirteenth Prince realized that he had been too nervous and secretly berated himself.

Thinking that this was her fourth brother's residence, she figured she wouldn't dare to do anything to her, so she relaxed a little and asked with a puzzled look, "Then what do you want with me?"

He didn't believe she was there to apologize; the girl didn't understand what guilt was at all.

Heyue lost interest in teasing him any longer. She straightened her expression and got back to the point: "I just want to say that you must forget what happened at Prince An's mansion that night. Don't tell anyone, including the Fourteenth Prince. You are not allowed to admit that you met the Sixth Sister."

It's her again!

The Thirteenth Prince frowned, looking displeased, especially since the girl spoke in a commanding tone. His resentment and dissatisfaction surged, and he grew bolder. He raised his eyes to meet hers directly, his gaze piercing: "Why should I listen to you? Even if I did, so what? Would I, the dignified Thirteenth Prince, disgrace your Sixth Sister?"

Wow! This guy has really become much bolder. After her initial surprise, He Yue was so angry she laughed.

However, if he were to tell others, there was really nothing I could do.

She dared not underestimate the importance that people in ancient times placed on the separation of men and women. If the thirteenth prince really had any ulterior motives, there would be nothing she could do.

She lowered her head, pondering a solution, wondering how she could persuade him.

When the Thirteenth Prince saw that she was silent, he thought he had spoken too harshly and secretly regretted it, but he couldn't bear to lose face.

As darkness fell, the moonlight illuminated her as she lowered her head and remained silent. Strangely, she lacked her usual fierce demeanor and exuded a quietness that was rather endearing.

He then remembered that the girl in front of him was not even ten years old, and she was not even as tall as his shoulder. Her skin was as white as porcelain, and the moonlight cast a flickering shadow on her face through the gaps in the trees. Her long eyelashes trembled gently, and she looked inexplicably lonely.

The thirteenth prince opened his mouth several times to say something comforting to her, saying that he would not tell anyone, but he did not say it.

He Yue glanced up and saw his struggling appearance, and suddenly realized that the boy in front of her was just a stubborn but soft-hearted guy.

With a quick glance, he had an idea.

"Then what do you want in return?" Having made up her mind, He Yue stopped being aggressive and softened her tone, now speaking in a conciliatory manner.

After all, I need someone's help, so it's not good to be too blunt.

The thirteenth prince was surprised, seemingly not expecting her to speak to him so kindly, and stammered for a moment, unable to speak.

“My sister is still a girl, and she still has to get married. If she gets tainted because of this, who would want to marry her? This matter is related to the Thirteenth Master after all. As long as the Thirteenth Master doesn’t admit it, no one will say anything. I offended the Thirteenth Master in the past, but my sixth sister is innocent. The Thirteenth Master can’t harm my sixth sister because of me.” He Yue reasoned with her and appealed to her emotions. Because her tone had softened, her voice was soft and sweet, like that of a young girl.
